    I want more! Wow. From everything I've seen on ayahuasca, this is the only video that has an actual story of where it came from. Before, it was, "The plants told them how to make it". Great video Tom!

    • @NuclearTopSpot
      @NuclearTopSpot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well... even in that story, it's still kinda indirectly the case innit?
      The one plant just said: ''hm... we kinda have to tell them but we don't want people to think that we're sentient.... aight let's just tell old man jenkins over there, no one will believe him anyways, and if he dies we'll just drop some rather conspicuous hints around his body, cross our 4 dimensional fingers, and hope the familie gets it... and find him for that matter''
      The other plant said: ''That's stupid idea... but it's not like we're running out of time. Let's do it!''

    I live in Colombia and some Taitas mention that the forefathers came upon jaguars eating the chakruna or chaliponga leaves and rolling on the ground in altered states. If true, that would mean jaguars don't have MAO so they wouldn't need the MAO inhibitor (beta-carbolines) found in the bark of the ayahuasca vine. There is a book about how animals self-medicate with plants when they are ill. Some animals have an innate knowledge of medicinal plants which is fascinating as well.

    • @yourmatetom
      @yourmatetom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That was the origin story that I was familiar with. It's interesting how shamans have different stories. Anyways, thanks for sharing. Much love.
