Traxxas XRT Gets lit

Installed a traxxas light bar

Hi hoping you can fill in the blanks for me. How did you power the light bar without the factory esc?

I plan on doing a video on that once I get all my lighting finished up. I'm using a DC-to-DC step-down converter to get 16 volts which is what the Traxxas amplifier puts out.

If you wire the 2 black lines together their ground and the blue wire is positive. You could wire it straight to a open slot on your receiver but it wouldn't be to bright and 6 volts

@@jessemichalies Would most likely use a Castle bec to bridge that gap. Waiting for my Hobbywing esc to arrive before I tackle the lights. Looking forward to see what you have planned!

Can the castle bec get up to 16 volts? I looked at bec's and the ones I found wouldn't. I didn't want to leave any brightness left on the table so I went with an adjustable step down converter to dial in the 16 volts

Yes, if you look up the light kit you can get the part number for just the front light bar

I made a video on my light setup, where I explained how to wire it up. It has a low beam and high beam built into it.
