- I got a recommendation from a subscriber to a cafe in Darlington that i didnt know about which is amazing considering ive been going to the nearby Morton Park for years , Anyway i was blown away with the team of girls working in the cafe they were pleasant and couldnt do enough to help and the quality and great prices of the food on offer was something to shout about .
Great looking cafe with fantastic food and price's, Taylor's pie's are my favourite, got to stop watching your videos when I'm hungry 😂😂👍👍👍
Ha Ha thanks for watching and yes a hidden gem that cafe
You poor hard done by northerners, this doesn't even exist in any shape or form in other parts. Magical quality and service, super find, Kevin. They know what they are doing, gravy, super thick and smothering everything, heaven!
@@nigelbranchett7718 Thanks for watching Nigel and yes a great find it’s been there for years and I didn’t even know , Yes great value and tasty too , a return visit is on the cards
I am with you on not knowing about the café but Taylors pies are great and the café looked great and brilliant value too. Great find indeed and I think a place me and the missus will be visiting next time we are at Morton park, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching Alan and amazing after all these years visiting Morton Park and not knowing ? but yes i will be paying another visit and trying some of that Apple Crumble . Catch you in the next one . Kev
(85) I really admire how you try to highlight the 'mom & pop" businesses. An admirable feed for quite a modest price. The Noted Pie shop should experience a decent boost in covers stopping by. Great upload, Kevin and thanks!!!
@@thaisstone5192 Thanks for watching and yes I think Taylor’s Cafe deserve a bit of recognition and already a few people have said they will pop down , Thank you for your kind comments Kev
@@thaisstone5192 yes fella this is why I follow Kev. I have a Mr&Mrs restaurant and catering business and our sector of hospitality needs every bit of support they can get. Kev is first class at doing exactly that.
Kev,I could not believe the price of this so watched till the end to see how good it was and was not disappointed.I live in North East Scotland now and that kind of meal would have a tenner added on to it! What a bargain pal, you lot in Northumberland are a lucky lot. Great review pal😉
@@Oscarspaw1971 Thanks for watching Oscar and for your comments they mean a lot and yes your right we are lucky down here , I love to highlight local businesses that provide value for money and also with great service , Catch you in the next one Kev
Looked great. Will have to try it in there. Great review.
@@annbell9429 Thank you

@@MichaelDavies-f6p Tasted great mate and good value ,Thanks for watching much appreciated
Taylor’s pies are fantastic. I love their pork pies. Will have to try the cafe xx
@@lyndseybeaumont7301 Hi Lyndsey it’s a gem of a cafe with great prices and lovely staff , Thanks for watching .
Fab vlog and great value🎉❤
Thank you Clare your comments are much appreciated
Great recommendation, Kevin, and what great value!
With the history of the place, it would have been rude not to have tried the pie, which I'm assuming was hot/heated through.
You know where to go now for another meal, breakfast, and/or review.
Love the "Rick Stein" inspired bit with getting the staff together for an airing. 😊
@@roger5159 Thanks Roger for watching and yes the pie wast heated through , another review at some point is definitely on the cards at those prices and as the staff were so nice I couldn’t resist getting them all together
Catch you in in the next one Kev
Wow!!! £5.60 for that…
Looks lush mate ❤️
Thanks for watching Ami much appreciated ❤
@ No problem 🙂👍
Hi Kevin. Never knew Taylor's had a place like that in Darlington , I have lost count of the times I've had their hot pork pies from their shop in Framwellgate moor . I live in Northumberland but on my travels I will most definitely be paying this place a visit .
Hi Hugo and thanks for watching and i agree what a gem of a cafe with the best pies and a lovely team in there .
Hello Kev this looks a rather fine feed if ever i travel that way i shall have a treat - GREAT REVIEW THANKS
Thanks Rosie its much appreciated
Fantastic place. Just wish they were open on the Weekend and not just on Weekdays.
Thanks Kev, been there with the wife many a time, cant go wrong with Taylors, gets busy around lunchtime though!
Hi Nick thanks for watching and for me its a hidden gem and will be going back for that delicious apple crumble
£5•60 with tea
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bang on What a cafe
👍👍👍👍
Yeah pal its a hidden gem
Absolutely banging plate of food there Kev and a great review. Have you tried mint sauce actually on your mushy peas ? That is spot on with a pie meal.
@@mikebryan7060 Hi Mike thanks for watching and no I haven’t tried the mint sauce on my mushy peas but will next time I’m in there , Thanks Kev
Looks delicious sir 😮 never been to Darlington before with me being in East Yorkshire. If you drive up to Kingston upon Hull, you need to go to Everything Toastie I even did a little TH-cam short about it on my channel, I'm no food reviewer but it's so good there ❤ it's not your regular Toastie, the lady who cooked them is out of this world 🌎
Hi Scott thanks for watching and i will make a note of that cafe it sounds interesting. , i will check out your video and subscribe , Thanks Kev
Hello Kevin, you can't beat a good old-fashioned pie. A well made, well filled and a fair price. Almost Heaven on a plate. For my personal choice, a bit too much gravy, I want me chips to be crispy. And the shot of Taylor's Angels. Reason for a visit not just the food. Starting to feel the proper Christmas vibes now until the next video. Stay safe, drive carefully and watch out for the nutters on the road. Allan&Family
Excellent review Kevin!
Thank you Alex much appreciated
Best pork pies ever! Not one spill on your white shirt 😂
@@garyspeight HaHa well spotted Gary , The Mrs had just washed and ironed the shirt as well so I would have been in trouble dribbling gravy all over , Thanks for watching .
There's a Taylors Butchers in Blackhall Colliery (same company) and best Pork Pies I've ever tasted.
@@whoflungdung1046 Hi thanks for watching and I believe they also have one in Ferryhill
And our local butcher also sells the pies .
We were in there the same time as you and it was really nice
@@gazza906 Hi Gazza thanks for commenting , My first time in the cafe and was well impressed so will definitely be going back to try something else and perhaps some of that apple crumble.
Kevin their chicken curry pies are also up there with those beaut pork pies mate 👍
@@ianwilson3862 ooh you’ve got me salivating now Ian , I shall have to make a return visit , Thanks for watching.
@thedurhamvlogger our local Taylors is Blackhall mate, nice and (a bit too) handy for a colliery lad 👌
I mentioned taylors cafe to you on your pot pie vlog, I also mentioned george bolams cafe. You can't go wrong with taylors pies. Bolams is great Kevin
@@joeforster4383 Hi Joe thanks for the heads up I completely forgot about Taylor’s Cafe it’s definitely a gem and your right the pies are the best , Bolams is on my to do list but probably won’t get around to that till the New year , Catch you later Kev
@@thedurhamvloggerstay safe bro
Can you claim for your meals ? Expenses vat etc
I wish I could but I’m afraid not , Thanks for watching and commenting
Looks great value, but not too sure about beef gravy all over a pork pie.
Thanks for watching Phil and its a first for me but i must say it went together well
afternoon kev, spence here...great review pal...now a couple of observations < big word for an x butcher> !..... looked great grub BUT W.T.F was all that gravy poured over every F******g thing!.... i,m sorry but did you ask for that ?.....and bud i have never had a hot pork pie as i know them up here...tell me more!
Hi Spence thanks for watching and the gravy did cover everything and did spoil the look but tasted great , but no i didnt ask for that but i didnt mind as i love a nice thick gravy , my missus commented about the amount of mint sauce which i love on most dinners , The hot pork pie things is common down here they used to sell in the clubs with mushy peas , i suppose it helps in this cafe as the pies are made fresh in the adjoining unit saying that im not keen on a well known brand thats sold in most supermarkets and i wouldnt warm those up .We used to sell beef from Lawson of Dyce back in the 70s which was good quality not sure if they still exist ? Regards
Kev
@@thedurhamvlogger holy fuck...LOD... i am blown away by that...we really need to speak kev...i have so much i can tell you about those times up here and what butchery was like then in our family business....farm, 5 retail shops, a plant that was for wholesale butchery all over the uk
and the top restaurants in london we were supplying!
Pork pie with gravy?????!!!!!!
@@jimlea7935 Hi Jim
It’s a popular thing here , When I lived down in the midlands it was popular in some of the clubs there , Thanks for watching.
@@thedurhamvlogger I'm down here in the Midlands and I've never heard of it!! I just realised you also had mint sauce, it goes with lamb shirley 🙂
So "Darlington" is pronounced like "Darton"?
Thanks for watching , Its sometimes difficult getting pronunciation spot on whilst contending with a lifelong stammer .
i have had taylor pies ea t them by them selve ore with pickle and cheese not with chips, mussy pies, and gravey, come on
e
Thanks Paul
