🏆Has this video made you consider other options besides the Ascent, or are you a Subaru Ascent devotee for life?🤔 🔴Brandnew 2025 Mazda CX-50 Stuns Everybody WATCH HERE 👉 th-cam.com/video/hlrMKLS1_BY/w-d-xo.html
I am a mechanic and own a 22 Ascent. I have no problems with power or acceleration. Since I have purchased this car I find myself driving faster than I should. This car gets up and goes. 30k miles so far and no problem with the transmission, knock on wood 🤣.
I just got a used 2020 with 36k miles. Got the touring model. I love it. It feels bigger inside than it looks from the outside. The engine is plenty powerful to keep me from doing something stupid lol. Makes me drive safer.
I’ve leased 3 ascent limited’s I have leased limited outback’s for 12 years before this I have a 2024 ascent limited now, I’m just going go purchase it at the end of my lease We like it and the third row is not an issue for us as we don’t use it but there if we need it. I wanted it for more space than anything Best in the snow hence why I’ve leased them so many years
Same, leasing a 24 onyx edition. Fits all the kids. And one occassion it fit 11 cases of water and 17 cases of gatorade after a trip to sams club with the 3rd row down 😂 was thoroughly impressed.
I’ve been driving my 2019 Ascent for 5 Years. Hands down it’s the best car I’ve ever own. When I saw this review I was very much prepared to come in hammer fists flying to defend the brand…….but you pretty much hit all my gripes. Very minor but true. Since day one I have wanted a Wilderness Hybrid Ascent with an extra 3 inches of legroom in the 3rd row. So yeah I am holding out to see what Subaru will do for the 2nd Gen version, but anything short of that and I may look at a Mazda cx70/cx90. Grand Highlander. EV9, Ioniq 9 or VW ID Buzz when it comes time to trade in.
Thanks for this video. I was looking for a very bad reason but all you mentioned were just minor issues that my family can live with. I choose the lower trim, best bang for the buck. They all have 2.4 turbo and symmetrical AWD anyway. Tight 3rd row space? Doesn’t matter. We are small people (Asians). Ugly design? Performance matters to us more. Low mpg? It’s a big suv for weekend trips, not a daily. And gas prices in my state are really not bad. No hybrid? No thanks, that would be expensive. Expensive top trims? We dont care. We are happy with base model or even Premium (1 notch higher)
I drive a 2019 Subaru Limited- No issues with engine power or ability. Drive it locally and long distances, and it has never been an issue getting around other cars, or maneuvering with speed. For a vehicle as large as it is, I get 20-21 MPG locally and up to 26 hwy. That's good enough for me. She's also pretty enough for me. It's not an ugly car, it's comparable to other SUV's. I test drove a few and chose my Subaru Ascent. The 3rd row works. I have some big boys that ride to and from practice, so its not a long distance big boy car on the 3rd row, but it gets us where we need to get comfortably enough. Off road X mode is beast! never had an issue with driving off road. Love my long sun roof, and have even slept in it on a camping trip to Joshua Tree National Forest. Love my Subaru
This has the same 0-60 as the new honda pilot v6. i can agree with fuel economy - it could be better. Overall, best bang for your buck vs other offerings. The cvt might create a feel of being sluggish but its far from it.
I think the Ascent is the best looking suv on the road. Acceleration is quick and like other people I frequently find myself speeding unaware. It’s so smooth you simply accidentally go too fast. I actually like the CVT. It’s has a great feel with the boxer engine, which also has a classic, unique feel. I’m only disappointed in the gas mileage. It’s only a little better than my full size truck.
satisfaction, reliabilty and being able to plow through deep snow without hassle while watching every other SUV and big trucks being stuck on the side of the road. Outshines any other shortcoming of the ascent. 🤷🏻♂️
No complaints on our 2022 Ascent Premium. It certainly has all the power we need. Excellent ride and we love the extra room that it has over the 2014 Forester we traded in on it. Another thing we love about Subaru is their Customer Service! So apparently it depends on who you ask.. Most Subaru owners I know of, Love theirs!
Being the safest car on the road my mom thought it was a great idea for her to get me a 23 ascent limited as my first car. While not sporty like the itch in my brain requires me to be, you can sure act like an ahole in this thing. Once you brake it in, it is so fun, the gas mileage will always be terrible on this thing so let it rip. Blip the gas press the downshift button a few times and smack the gas and passing people is a breeze. All this thing needs is a hellcat engine.
I love our Ascent. The engine is 270hp and is very peppy with plenty of power. Who gives a crap about a hybred. The 24 Onyz edition with a redone front end is very sharp looking. No SUV in this size has much of for third row seating, if you need that get a Tahoe or Wagoneer. The sticker on our Ascent was 43,000 which is a bargen for the options it has. So at this point I would say your entire video here is incorrect.
Any objective observations about a Subaru is a no win as the “Subaruties” will object in the most distasteful manner. ie: like any comment about T. Swift, you are doomed. I noticed you left out the Nissan Pathfinder?

Outshines any other shortcoming of the ascent. 🤷🏻♂️. Never thought of getting a Subaru but now that I’m moving to a place with lots of snow this will be my car.
Real world driving, I get between 26mpg and up to 30mpg on the highway, but in short range city driving, that’s number may really be as low as 14mpg up to 19mpg. It’s a great long distance road car. Quiet and comfy. Have probably done 400 miles in the seat before I had to get a fill up. The lack of a hybrid just kills me considering Subaru’s reputation.

Now, I'm going to buy 2025 Ascent for sure because of your 6 reasons.

Consumer satisfaction and reliabilty outshines each of the other mid size companies mentioned.

Anyone have issues with the heated seats? Our 2023 limited seats don’t get hot or warm. Temp gun shows 85° to 87°.
