- Krauka's first video from the new cd "Óðinn", this is the titeltrack of the cd : "Óðinn". Filmed in Iceland in the Lava near Reykjavik and at another place also close to Reykjavik where a good friend of ours lives, his name is also Óðinn and he has been a part of creating the beatiful Sculpture of Thor and his wagon in the video.
"Óðinn" was filmed and edited from the 18/6 - 23/6 2009 by Sigurdur Agust Magnusson .
For more info about Krauka you can go to www.krauka.dk
1. Take viking folk music;
2. Convert it into viking folk metal;
3. Convert it again into viking folk music.
i c e l a n d
4. And then you have some Neo-Folk music. ;)
norse 4 ever its in the blood
You're not Norse, are you.
There is nothing called "Viking Folk Music" - there is no music from that period, so 1. recreate viking music 2. .......
Thanks alot for the comments.
Greetings from Søren - Krauka
The guy with the green pants is the coolest.
Listening in 2023 Anyone?
2024

Contrasting, strong, Harsh, Barbarian and Epic this music ! . These hymns. Warm And cold... Red and blue, Water and fire..Under the immense blue
! and cold sky of the north, of Scandinavia, in Denmark
His diaphragmatic voice is deeper than the ocean. God I love his voice. Viking.
Nicely done. He intones the names of Odinn straight from the Edda of Snorri Sturlason. I think he's using the original in the Old Norse.
From an English translation:
"Odin is called Alfather, for he is the father of all the gods; he is also called Valfather, for all 81 who fall in fight are his chosen sons. For them he prepares Valhal and Vingolf, where they are called einherjes (heroes). He is also called Hangagod, Haptagod, Farmagod; and he gave himself still more names when he came to King Geirrod:
Grim is my name,
And Ganglare,
Herjan, Hjalmbore,
Thek, Thride,
Thud, Ud,
Helblinde, Har,
Sad, Svipal,
Sangetal,
Herteit, Hnikar,
Bileyg, Baleyg,
Bolverk, Fjolner,
Grimner, Glapsvid, Fjolsvid,
Sidhot, Sidskeg,
Sigfather, Hnikud,
Alfather, Atrid, Farmatyr,
Oske, Ome,
Jafnhar, Biflinde,
Gondler, Harbard,
Svidur, Svidrir,
Jalk, Kjalar, Vidur,
Thro, Yg, Thund,
Vak, Skilfing,
Vafud, Hroptatyr,
Gaut, Veratyr."
Coolest bassist EVER
Hey Out There . . . Love the musik and awsome film from Island . . . Love From Danmark . . .
Great song. You can feel the passion for the ways of old and Norse religion.
Greetings from the germanic brothers and sisters from germany.
Odhinn the great father will be with you!!!
The costumes are correct. Allfather loves blood as much as music and magic. It is good to always learn more. Bragi is not the only god who makes music. Allfather writes poetry which music is made from. He'd be happy to hear this and see it. The Vikings took care of their appearance and were quite colourful. Hail Óðinn!
costumes are correct? i think the guy in green has a zipper...
@ 2:20
Oh man. I was not prepared for those vocals, but I am glad they happened.
i have seen them at viking festival here in iceland.
they are like svenny said... fantastic!
i keep coming back to this. love it
Loving this. Looks like a couple of vikings who accidentally found their way into the 1970-80s
Fun Fact: Óðinn is also the god of the heaviest beats and riffs.
What a fantastic track i just keep it on repeat, Hailsa Krauka, Hailsa Woden!!
:-) No I'm Søren from Denmark... Greetings from the bassplayer in Krauka...
I can't believe it's been 11 years and you only got 1 like. Have another.
great band, really great
One of the best songs ever... Good done, my friends.
these guys are fantastic!!! I saw them playing in gudvangen 2009!!! they were fantastic!!!
great audio, great video, heard them live at some christmasparty once but did not think so higthly about them then.
I very much need to visit Iceland to experience their sounds. It seems the geographical isolation allows the musicians to explore the areas (almost always unique or at the very least interesting and unfamiliar) that musicians like myself (a dime a dozen) often fail to even consider experimenting with. And it works. Snilld tónlist guys!
greeeeeaaaaat !!!! I can not stop listening and watching. Thank you highly.
Essa música é viciante ^^
É linda também.
one of the best bands Ive found in the last months! Supreme!!! Regards from Argentina! Skål!
This is a very good song! Greetings from Albaniya!
I've just listenned to Eivor- Trollabundin. That felt so good. A real trip. But this vid makes me think this:
Remember. You never expect the moment when you get lost in TH-cam.
+X.M. Caucase i feel the same exactly....
Can't stop listening :P
Ealda godu ēow bletsien. Ƿōden wēoh þisne sang.
I just found these fellas..rather fun I must say, i like this song.
in a way you are....they are the oldest of the old of the roots of metal...strife...heavy beats...sounds like metal to me....war ballads....what more could you ask for...and I'd bang my head to this...in fact I am.
I love the how the bass player is getting down. I liked the song.
A new genre borns. Psychedelic nordic atmospheric ecologic folklorik doom music
Long lost, now i found it again ;-)
GREAT !
Muy bueno...!!!😉👍
Exellent song, keep it up guys! Really looking forward for more ! :)
Kind Regards from Argentina.
I just discovered your music. I like it.
hailsa great music from NZ
I love this band so much, it's just a pity you don't have a video for Disadans. i always picture it being sung in a dimly lit longhouse. or around a campfire at night.
It was most excellent to see these guys at this years 2018 Vista Viking Festival. Skål
The very best for sure. What a heritage we have.
En fornøjelse at lytte til. Jeg decideret *elsker* Guðjóns dybe røst
Beautiful music! I love it!
@tysken94 Wow - I couldn't explain it better. Your words are *exactly* what I thought the first time I listened to this band (and it was this song).
same here, I've played this many times since I first heard it. I really love the sound of this as it's so different...it's not quite old, not new, just good music.
Ich finde dieses Lied ganz schön!
All hail to Wotan! This is awesome. Salute to Krauka from Finland!
...
Que bueno este genero exitO .

Your music provides me with inspiration in many ways while writing or working on my art. The feeling it provides, the passion it displays, and hell it sounds amazing too! Keep the fantastic music coming, and you'll keep drawing us in to your magnificent sound.
Incrível como os islandeses amam suas raízes (:
YEAHHHH!!
Sooooo cheesy yet soooo awesome simultaneously...
You guys are so amazing that I wish I could be in your band. (I can...um...contribute some whistle and ocarina! >.>) Such a rich and beautiful voice, and the way you guys attack those acoustic instruments! I come back and watch this video all the time. You guys play some very creative folk music. Keep it up, fellows. :) ~Marysia

mega fedt musik!! så jer nede på Moesgård Vikingetræf og det var så fedt og se jer!
I love the leader singers voice, the depth and deepness is awesome. The bass player on the other hand.. just makes me laugh.. he is something else
I like this.
HOLA...AZEMI...ME PARECE INTERESANTE...ES RELAJANTE, Y SIEMPRE ES BUENO ESCUCHAR NUEVOS TEMAS.
You guys rocked Moorhead last night! See you at Aquarium tonight!
Way better than the usual "scream till their ears bleed " pagan rock.
Слушаю уже много лет в Москве👍
Y ME ENCANTO CONOCERLA...ME RESULTA TAN LLAMATIVA E INTERESANTE SU PERSONA QUE DECEO SEGUIR CONOCIENDOLA...BESOS.
Magnifique :) !!!!
+Coco PerL@bs Ce que me dit mon père chaque jour que dieu fait :$
@Varghalur Interesting. I realized recently that I had the "Raider" meaning incorrect, but I was under the impression that it actually meant "Explorer". Your saying that it actually means something completely different. There seems to be a lot about the Old Norse that the world at large has wrong. Thanks for the knowledge.
Awesome video! I missed this when you posted but my friends have been passing the link around. My wife and I first found your band when we stayed in Hafnarfjordr in November 2002 for our honeymoon. (Don't laugh, being from Minnesota, the weather in Iceland then was nice enough we just wore rain jackets.) We've seen you folks a few times since then but, honestly, I don't recall which countries it was in. (I love that about the music scene in Europe.)
realy a great pleasure, beautiful video, great song !
Thanks !
I gotta say, i like these guys..
DOUGLAS HOTCHKISS ok
This man's voice is a really deep bass range. Most men would not be able to sing this (no offense to the guys).
+Juliette Zephyr I'm very offended, you know, i try to be manly but damn it's not easy, the only way whuch works is to drink whisky so i can feel my chesthair growing a bit :3
Not really, my voice isn't particularly deep and I can reach this range. Now some vocalist like Till Lindemann however, that's deep bass range.
@@TaiganTundra Ya got any proof on video? 😄
@@SurrealisticSlumbers I'm not a vocalist, I'm really bad at singing, but I can get my voice down to an E2, Till can go at least down to a C2 if not deeper. Anyway, my point was this guy wasn't that deep technically speaking.
No offence taken, They kept the ancient language and were well rewarded by Odin, Trying to learn Icelandic my self!
All twenty fingers up!
Perfect sound track for the next Viking James Bond film
Awesome song :)
Cheers from Sweden
I like your music very much.,
Cool song guys hail Odin from the wide brown land Australia
I wish I'd have just listen to the music^^
Warm Greetings! Krauka, many thanks :)
This is the best video I have ever seen!! I love it, thank you so much.
The vocalist has a very Nordic voice, i like it!
See them at Viking Festival Vista California September 22nd and 23rd!
I dont much claim the mut side, or the native american.... But i fully embrace and revel in my Sweed Viking bloodline. Heres to Jarl leaders and loyal huscarls 'round about the world.
Wargarbleherharhar!
mjög hefðbundinn, Great job my brothers
This is awesome, you guys are talented, never mind the a-holes out there.
Aw! Just love it *.*
skål
Suggestive music and musican! Love it!
Very nice! Hail the Allfather!
@OrinDac More like foreigners can't understand it. I'm icelandic and a lot of this is rather common knowledge here, since old norse is just "old icelandic" and icelandic hasn't really changed much for the past 1000 years. But you can go "a viking",that means to explore, but it is written differently than a person living in a vík(víkingr), to explore is written: að fara í víking. Has another ending. Though in order to explore you have to take your boat to the bay and sail it in the "vík" :P
Wow! Amazing, powerful, moving. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
excellent! greetings from the venezuelan andes, thanks for sharing
very good band very nice song like a lot from them
Great music I like it. :)
Thats funny, I was explaining that exact assumption about Vikingr and the association with exploring and the bay to my wife. Again thanks.
Very interesting, man! I am surprised. I actually like the originality and beautiful expression in this music. Yaaaay! It has a *drive*. Nice work. We do independent indie music too - overtone choir music! Really original too, check it out :)
awesome! Greetings from slavic pagan Bvlgaria!
