The number is probably a bit larger than 5 million due to the fact that Chinese records are not really considered full, but 15 million is really stretching it as there are between 10 and 11 million ethnic Mongols in the whole world and a sizable chunk of them don't talk Mongolian. So the most probable high end number including an optimistic assumption about China, is around 7-8 million Mongolian language speakers world wide with realistic numbers as of now are probably around 6 million native speakers.
Now one could argue that those languages some consider dialects are really just that - dialects of Mongolian languages and that official classification is driven by political agenda(s) of bigger nations. But that's besides the point in this argument - TH-cam makes note of several views per IP so one person could make dozens of views count in, which means that a very small number of people could, theoretically, pump those views up. Playing a devil's advocate here.
But they did reach a world wide audience, no doubt, especially with this song that is very relatable to all Old World civilizations from Atlantic to Pacific ocean.
