Writing Inside a Card with your Cricut

- Today we are making another Anna Griffin project and learning how to locate and put pre-made sentiments inside your card with the help of your Cricut.
This project is taken from Anna's Christmas Cards and Embellishments 2 cartridge, which can be found when you search by Cartridge in the image search. Although the cartridge is readily available in Design Space, it is not free. (Once you look at the cartridge, you might decide you like all of the projects or just one or two pieces, so consider the entire cartridge before buying individual images.)
Please note: If you don't already own the cartridge, you won't pay for the images until you hit MAKE IT on your Cricut. So, you can go in and look and play with anything--even images you don't own--and you won't have to pay for it until you actually make it!
There are about two dozen penned sentiments in the "Anna's Christmas Cards and Embellishments 2" cartridge, so IMHO it was worth the $$ for me. You, of course, can decide this for yourself.

I now add sentiments to the inside of all the cards I make...sometimes using one from DS, but mostly by using a pen and writing my own. Not necessarily as pretty, but maybe a little more personal...just to me.

I love this…but can you go further with sentiments on the inside of cards? I typed up some birthday sentiments and the fonts are not written fonts. Help! What do I do?

Sure! We do it all the time!
So you have to change the font filter to “writing” and it will show you the writing fonts. Also, you can find premade sentiments now under the “Phrases” tool.

When I try to write inside it says I have layers and won't let me write I just bought a cricut joy

Yes, they unfortunately changed DS. When doing an Image Search, you will see some columns. On the extreme left column, choose Image Set. Then you can search for Anna and it will bring up the Anna Griffin sets that have these. I also have a DS file that has them all. Let me find it and post.

Yes, it’s from Anna Griffin and it’s in the image set called “Christmas Cards and Embellishments”
The cards are nice and I tried making them and they are super tiny. Did you adjust the size? The pre-set size is 4 × 3.They look more like gift tags.
Oh! Yes! You do need to resize them! For these I will generally resize them to 10” long and 7” tall. Then they are folded to create a standard 5” x 7” sized card. The other kind of card I often do is an A2, which is 4.25” x 5.5” folded (or half of an 8.5” x 11” sheet

What website for the cricut expression with cartridges???????
There is no direct online software to run the older “legacy” machines. They are some third party options, which can be purchased online. One is called Sure Cuts a Lot. It will allow you to use your legacy machine, the cartridges and more. Otherwise you can still operate the machine through the cartridges. If your on Facebook, I have a group for people who still use the legacy machines. It’s called Cricut for Expression, Personal and Create.
