You had stated in the course of your discussion that your students are not interested in joining DRDO.
Is is not a high time that the Govt changes its policy by bringing in talent on short duration utilizing their facility in the research institution and allied industry.
The investments made over the past 7 decades should not go waste.
Even the IITs have grown in strength in research domain only during the past one decade.
Earlier they were generating talent pool / intelligencia mostly for the USA.
Possibly short term comprehansive projects with participation by academic institutions, private startups / enterprises etc can make our defence research & other organisations viable / deliver successfully.
The kind of development globally as put forth in this discussion indicates that the planners cannot dither anymore as it the potential for us to miss the new opportunity.
Honestly one needs to go through the pod cast a few times to get a grasp of what is being put forth.

Sir. It is applicable to all institutions as most govt research institutions work in a capsule mode motivated to deliver only what is desired with total disregard to lateral thinking.
Even small changes can deliver greater success.
Hopefully IA introduces coders and tries out in some theater. Till date IA is still following the colonial style. Need a drastic change for future war which will be AI enabled.

Why cant IIT director of Madras an expert on computer be involved in this and help the defense services in developing. Good officers to be involved in Masters in computer engineering and analytical research and develop it. A separate arm to be created
