I'm a registered nurse in Nigeria too but with the way things are going I must leave with my family. We're planning on using the PR route. I wanted to go to UK to work but NNMC stopped us from proceeding with verification so let me use the PR route.

Yeah, my dad was like that too. Their generation had a much better Nigeria, so they always went back home. I’ve been living in the US with my family for over 20 years and I feel my dad (he’s late now) apologizing to all of us (his children) for not raising us abroad. It would have saved me & my siblings from the stress of being a first generation immigrant.
Yes, compared to Nigeria, CANADA is heaven! 😅 Enjoy your abroad life with your family 💖

I recently visited Canada during the summer, and the differences from the US are quite noticeable. After living in the US, you might not want to relocate to Canada. We visited Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal, so I have a good sense of what it's like. There are numerous differences that are hard to list. In fact, almost all the Uber drivers we met are planning to move to the US or return to their home countries after obtaining citizenship. Canada feels slower-paced, fewer job opportunities and generally less developed.

Lol, the food nkor? The food is nothing like our naija food. Food here is full of sugar and gmo and people are very sickly, from diabetes, heart failure, obesity etc. Me, I buy from ranchers and farmers to avoid the gmo, sugar, and highly processed foods. I cook my own meals, and occasionally eat out, and my hubby is in love with Nigerian food because I cook more of that.

Neze, that's a sweet sweet video you've put up there. It never ceases to amaze me how the older generation appear to be living in denial about the tragedy Nigeria has become and the missed opportunities that have made them stay back in Nigeria. They had this hope that Nigeria was going to be the best place for them but they must have been dis-illusioned at some point because looking back at what is obtainable today in Nigeria, things have not turned out well for Nigeria. It is not really about poverty, although that is a factor for some, If anything it is now a thing of self-abuse to choose to stay in Nigeria if you have the option to leave, with all the things that go on there, particularly the issues of absence of social justice, security, the quality of life, nothing seems to work and there is little hope for the children. Who in their right mind wants such a future for their children? There a Yoruba proverb that says "the plantain is getting rotten, yet they are saying it is getting ripe". It is not really about poverty but about quality of life for you and your children. Neze thank you and your husband for making the right decision for your lives and for the good progress and future of your children, giving them more options in life. From Abacha's time some of us made the leap and 9ja has continued its steady decline. You only have one life to live, with good foresight like Neze's you can make that count. Blessings to you Neze, keep up the good work, and inspiring others to live their best life God has provided for them.
