Number 7 - Let the Gin do the talking, by Betsy should surely have been in the top 3. The entire ad is done by a professional with graphic design expertise and can be put on air immediately as a finished advert. Companies would pay decent money for an ad of that quality.
He said the whole point was he didn't want anything too fancy and professional. That was the point, otherwise he'd have just paid to get one done

The ad in 7th was the best
The 7th place was my favourite.
Betsey's ad is great but would be even better if it was more concise, you could easily take the word play out at the start it's not needed, and shorten the end into a tight 30 seconds. Then you can cut it into shorter ones for each flavour and you'd have the perfect campaign.
Nik's was perfect
Betsey's Advert was the best of all of them and it's slightly ridiculous how low down hers is.
What makes it good? That it used graphics? I didn't see a joke in it anywhere, and James' brand is 'comedian'.

1 is superb, it's all in there, and animation is mint.
#6 and #4 are by far the best. "This gin is great for a drive" and "this gin will help you survive WWIII" are the kind of perfectly funny and memorable messages I want to see in an ad.
I see a lot of comments praising other submissions that were absolutely unbearable, just like all real commercials on TV today. I can't possibly express how disgusted I am that apparently people actually LIKE that garbage. #7 is particularly offensive. #2 is equally irritating but at least I can objectively respect the professionalism of the production value, if not the "generic soulless consumerism" of the style.
But those kind of phrases are pedestrian 🚶♀️🚶♂️

The commercial ad with the guy drinking and driving with the fast credits at the end, seems like the type of commercial somebody would say “you have X amount of money to spend”, and they spend just a very little bit of it and keep the rest.
I think 7th place deserved at least 3rd, but other than that, fun vid

Mr May, enjoyed your choices. This is only my opinion and you did mention #7 should have been higher on the list. To me top 3. However at the least I would have made #5 the #7 pick and # 7 at the #5 spot. All 10 were really good and the creators should be very proud.

I don't even like gin (whiskey is my preferred poison) but if I see James doing a video about it, I'll give it a watch. I can't think of another creator who I've watched make food in a bunker, rebuild a rotary telephone, run an electric train for miles, or get plastered with The Hamster playing chess. The only CLOSE competition is another British channel called Atomic Shrimp, Mike is truly a renaissance man who much like Captain Slow can make the most mundane activities utterly fascinating.

A joyous 10 films, all of them great in different ways, but Nitch's(?) 'Untitled' was not only a deserved winner, but the only one I have watched 3 times so far, and the only one that makes me think I need to buy James Gin! It not only channels John Ryan's early live action Captain Pugwash, but it made me laugh (but not out loud, that would be unseemly).
The only possible improvement might be to get Richard Hammond to do the commentary. He is mentioned as a rejected flavour, but I'm sure a few bottles of gin would drown any anger.
#7 was my favorite.

James May, I've heard you mention that your navy strength gin is "inflammable". Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that it's "flammable", meaning it's easily set alight? Inflammable could mean that in certain circumstances it would be capable of spontaneous combustion which would be a very strong gin!🎉😊
