Jay & Amber, you'll love their "Marrakesh Express"!!!
When you get back to CSN&Y, you'll love their "Our House", "Carry On", "Find The Cost Of Freedom" and "Deja Vu"!!!
edit- I see you've done 2 other CSN songs, "Southern Cross" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes".
"Teach Your Children" was CSNY, but your video says CSN.

CSN, their fifth album was released in 1977. This song has a calypso feeling, with a catchy guitar lead, Steven's beautiful guitar solo, and their heavenly harmonies. Quintessential melody and lyrics so CSN. Timeless sensation. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️ ❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦

This song was on an album that came out at the time where Rock FM radio stations would play an entire album with just one commercial break between the sides. I recorded it off the radio on a cassette. It was considered at the time to be a sort of comeback record for CSN. The album has a lot of great tunes on it.

I actually owned their first album on 8-track tape from 1969, the self-titled, Crosby, Still & Nash. Not sure if you've done "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" yet which was about singer Judy Collins as well as the incredible "Marrakesh Express." So many great songs in their catalog. They were all also fine solo artists and also came from other 60s bands before they formed this trio - Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield, Graham Nash from The Hollies and David Crosby from The Byrds.

I was instantly attracted to this particular song when I first played the album. I followed them since their first album. Not related to CSN but just wanted to remind you of a group you reacted to once. Could you get back to The Young Rascals/Rascals some time with "A Beautiful Morning". Hey! I'm a 60 something bass player that played in some top 40 cover bands back in the day. It warms my heart to see your gen getting into some of the old school stuff. Especially the stuff the brothers weren't grooving to. Times were so different. We had Soul Music on the radio and a movement in the streets so the blue eyed Soul wasn't so hip. But music being music, the blue eyed Soul was hitting the underground. Being a top 40 guy, I had to learn everything, so I was exposed to a lot. Every chance I got, I'd turn on a brother on to what I was playing. They had some of the same reactions you'll have and it's great! Loved seeing the reactions the Logical song.

This is my favorite song from the CSN album and one of my favorites from the band in both of its alliterations, with and without Young. Stephen Stills wrote this about his troubled relationship with Joan Baez, a noted folk singer and Woodstock alum who also performed at the 1963 March on Washington where MLK gave his I Have A Dream speech. Check her out sometime if you haven’t yet. I think you would also love Shadow Captain from the same CSN album. So glad you guys reacted to this one. It has always been one of my favorites by CSN but is one of their less played songs. The heavy influence of keyboards is not one of their trademarks which makes it unique and to me a standout in their catalog. Another less played song is Ambrosia’s “I’ll Keep Holding on To Yesterday.” You ought to give it a listen. Sometimes those less played songs are hidden gems that you guys are willing to take a chance on.

    • @lreed1040

Yes that is one of Ambrosia's best IMO. Reactors need to listen to more of the less overplayed songs from artists and get a real feel for those artists. Sometimes deeper cuts, lesser known or non singles are just a good or better than the overplayed hits. Other examples "Mistral Wind" by Heart or "Stone In Love" by Journey.

Love CSNY, grew up listening to them, I was 16 in 1969, best music ever. You guys gotta try Frank Marino, it begun to rain, live at the Agoura Theater. Please give Frank a listen, like Jeff, Stevie, he will blow you away, been making music for 50 years just retired due to health issues.

CSNY was the top of the Wooden Music genre in the late 60's/early 70's. Four guys (from other super groups) that stuck together through the decades. CSN's "Wooden Ships" is a great anti-war classic. You might also try Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", "After the Gold Rush", or "Southern Man".

This was written by Stephen Stills who had a bluesy way of singing
This was the B side of Just a Song Before I Go but This was considered a hit as well because it was played on college radio and what wad then called adult rock.
Also... You must hear the song Church by CSN. Maybe their most underrated song.

This has been my favorite song of theirs for a long time... probably because I grew up in the 80s and appreciate an "over-produced" sound, as this song is much more "smooth and clean" than their previous albums.

This was kind of a comeback for them as the musicians of that period were trying to adapt to the more dance driven sound of the day that was becoming the new norm on radio then. The Bee Gees have got to be the prime example of success in that regard. To transition from being young princes of pop folk rock in the late sixties and then fast forward ten years and out of blue to being the undisputed kings of disco 🕺 rock at a time when even putting those two words together in a sentence would’ve been considered sacrilege 😆 but they somehow got away with it and in “BIG”way! A lot of groups from that genre tried to do that at that time…some fairly successfully. Some of them tried a little too hard and would sound contrived and fake to me but but then some really nailed it I thought. ZZ Topp managed to do that with Eliminator and it was great but I was glad when they decided to start going back to their roots and take us back home 🎸

So much CSN is so great. CSNY is great too. Neil Young pursued a solo career early on, but they came back together. Their catalog is pretty big and pretty diverse - but mostly folk rock with a little soul and some regular good ol rock and roll. Ohio is a good song by them it is about 4 students who were shot by the police at Kent State as they were protesting the Vietnam War it is a rocking song big time (written by Neil Young song by CSNY). Really powerful song. Marrkesh Express is definitely a vibe. Neil Young songs Like a Hurricane, Cinnamon Girl, Old Man, Alabama - lots of them.

Another enjoyable reaction! Hey wanted to beg you guys to react to a few suggestions I think you'll be blown away by. 1st is Fiona Apple, the songs you need to hear are "Sleep to Dream", "Criminal" and "Fast as You Can". Amazing lyricist and songwriter! The 2nd is Portishead, check out "Sour Times" and "Glory Box". I think you two will be a bit blown away by both Fiona Apple and Portishead. I hope you get a chance to discover them! 🙏🤩
