- Kevin Harvick has had one of the most interesting and stories careers in NASCAR’s 75 year history. With different moments coming out of nowhere as “The Closer” and the insurmountable responsibility of following up Dale Earnhardt one may almost forget that he has scored 60 career NASCAR Cup Series wins, and today we will look at the best of the best. It's still so surreal that I witnessed Harvick's last win in person. I didn't think he would end up going winless the rest of his tenure after that. This is why I truly appreciate going to a NASCAR race so much, because you never know what kind of history could unfold in front of your very eyes!

The worst part is, I was at two of the races where Kevin had such a great shot at a win. Nashville and Darlington.

While I'd seen Cars in theaters the previous year, the 2007 Daytona 500 was my official introduction to NASCAR. I was instantly hooked for the next three years, and 16 years later I'm still following along.
2001 Spring Atlanta Race will always be a favorite of mine. What a story line with RCR and DEI that year.
And now, they're both wrecks of their former selves (especially after RCR's toxicity was exposed)
I was lucky enough to see Harvick's final win in person, and that will be something that I will never forget for as long as I live. Seeing Harvick get better and better was something that was surreal to see.
The Atlanta win is so iconic and deserves #1 ... the symbolism of it being his 3rd race , 3 races after that Daytona 500 of losing Dale , and even coming down to Gordon being the guy he had to beat ! Will never forget the post lap of him going around by the wall holding up 3 fingers 😢 i can almost get chills watching that finish every time
And the sad part? He doesn't remember that day AT ALL. At least that's what he said in the only podcast he did with Jr (they were on bad terms since the 2010s)
I want to interject that Harvick's 2003 Indy win was not RCR's last win since Paul Menard also won racing for Richard later on.

I think that was the moment where he truly became himself as a driver
As a proud fan of Kevin Harvick, who's seen through his first Championship to the Slumps of 2021-mid way 2022. I see Harvick as a idol, someone who refuses to give up even in the toughest of times. Harvick fan 4ever.
2021 was no slump. He was still very consistent that year.

Besides him jumping off the top of Ricky Rudd’s car it would have to be him instigating the fight between Gordon and Keselowski.
It's hard to argue with these top 10 wins. There's 6 other wins that will always stand out for me as a Harvick fan since the raced the 75 Spears Chevy in Winston West.

The 2007 Daytona 500 is by far my favorite. It's what made me a Harvick fan for this long.
I think an honorable mention should be his Darlington win after covid. That was the first major sporting event to have taken place after the shutdown & everyone got to enjoy a nascar race for the first time in nearly 3 months
Just realizing that I was at Kevin Harvick’s last win. I left upset bc I never was a fan of his, I even pointed out his car on pit lane to my fiancé (who doesn’t really watch nascar) and said he won last week and probably won’t win today. Lo and behold, he won. Still not a fan of his, but something I can always say, is I was at his final win.
In the 2007 Daytona 500, he was side-by-side with Kasey Kahne for 5th. I think Harvick was 6th when he got the white flag. Fun fact: who was the first time that the Daytona 500 ended completely at night. Not counting 2006 because it wasn’t completely dark yet
at the 10 lap mark he was back in 30th or so. The footage is STILL online of his camera feed.
It’s hard to believe that Busch, Hamlin, and Truex are the only ones left from that era (you could also count Keselowski and maybe Logano)
If we talking about Gen 4 then Busch Hamlin Truex full time and Yeley Johnson Newman part time

My Favorite Kevin Harvick moment is his Victory at Michigan in 2019 because I was there in person
His win during Covid was wild. To see him on the front stretch with no fans was bizarre but important as it was the first sport back.
Biggest Kevin Harvick win is being the Kevin Harvick we all know i.e one of the most competitive guys out there, from the very beginning to the very end, filling the biggest shoes you can possibly imagine at age 25, to contend for wins and carry a struggling team on your back at 50 years old.
Him winning Michigan was the best day of all in 2022 for me

@@ColeslawCustard every race I've been to sadly Harvick has had the strangest things happen. 2021 Bristol, 2022 Bristol, 2022 Charlotte, 2023 Darlington
Same, I was there at one of his Dover Races where he had the car to compete with Jimmie (forget the year) and it was one of those races where a chunk of concrete took out his valve stem. ugh.
It was my first race i ever went to and being a huge harvick fan for years i cried when he won after so long and my first ever race! Was a special day in my life
That’s a great list! A few that should be either on the list or honorable mention in my opinion. 2015 Dover in absolute domination. 2018 Atlanta and the 2020 Bristol night race.
2020 RealHeros400 at Darlington, the "return to racing", but it was arguably the first return to any sporting event of any of the "major" sports worldwide. NASCAR probably hadn't had such international visibility in a long time (his 50th win, too!)
2018 Atlanta was sooo underrated. It was the last true racing at the track until the aero package ruined it and now the track is god awful.

@@hengineer The last race on the old Atlanta was 2021. But from 2019-2021 they 550hp high downforce kinda ruined it. However I'll take that over what we have now
One (of many) of my favorite KH moments was 2018 ISM 3rd straight win for Kevin. Dominated then hopped out and banged on the rear window because of the whole controversy about the rear window being loose the week prior.
Also loved the “I wear the fire suit in the family” shirts they did years ago because of Logano
The Atlanta moment this year between Him and Rcr will always be special
Differently his Atlanta win when he won for late great Dale Earnhardt Sr. I still remember watching everybody in the grandstands standing up and holding 3 fingers up and Kevin driving around the track with 3 fingers out the window. One of the greatness moments in Nascar history...4ever.
For me personally, that win at California is one of my all time favorite wins period.

The last full time Driver from the Winston Cup era has retired, that era is now officially gone sad

What I would do to re-live 2022 Michigan. That was my best birthday ever. Rooting for my fellow Bakersfield native and favorite driver. I wanted to cry because how happy I was 🔥
Fun Fact: The 1 Car Won in Kevin Harvick's First Start & in his Last Start
Plus the same manufacturer Chevrolet. In a way same team since that version of the 1 goes back to the DEI days. Obviously different owners but it can be traced back to DEI.

One of the best ever, remember he drove mid tier equipment most of his career and even with SHR had a horrible in race crew chief who choked away countless wins and titles
Shouldve added 2022 michigan snapping the 65 winless streak. I was their and i was so hyped. That was awsome
An honorable mention for me would be 2002 Chicagoland. A spin and win in a rough season for RCR in general. Just an amazing performance in a disappointing season
I would also add 2001 Chicagoland since it was the inaugural race.

You can’t beat his first win. It’s #1 to me. With the circumstances surrounding it mixed in with an amazing finish, it will always be #1.
Honestly the 2003 Brickyard 400 was a top 5 win for Harvick.
2014 Phoenix race still hurts as a Gordon fan; however if he couldn’t win the championship that year; I’m glad Harvick did.
It seemed Harvick won almost every race I went to.
2005 spring race at Bristol, started in the back after a trans mission change and drove through the field to win with Scott Miller on the box filling in for a suspended Todd Berrier.
It will always be his first win in the Cup series no matter what.
As a die hard Happy Harvick fan, your list is pretty impressive. If I was nit pickin' though how about his 1st and only Pocono win? Took him over 20 years to get it! I got to see his Bristol Night Race win so that one is special for me personally.
This is a pre-watched bet. Harvicks win in Atlanta in 2001 over Jeff Gordon is #1. At least in my book
Not a big Harvick fan but I wanted to see where the 2007 Daytona 500 would land. Mark Martin is my goat and it broke my heart but Harvick definitely deserved the win
That Auto Club win in 2011 got me so mad as a JJ fan! 17 year old me was pissed after that race!
The one I’ll never forget is the 2001 Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 500 at Atlanta
My favorite race of his I was at Richmond and he went from 7th to 1st on a GWC before they even took the white flag.
Harvick's last win was the only time i saw him win on tv because i couldnt see Michigan
Not a race win. But he like some would say the instigator of the Brad Keselowski vs Jeff Gordon at Texas, in 2014. And I guess you could mention(as like an honorable mentions) his first win in the Trucks and the Busch Series at the time.
Honorable mention: 2005 oreily auto parts challenge he lost his father in law correct me if im wrong but he did lose someone close to him and he basically broke down in victory lane just a sad win i thought i would mention
Yes, that was a tough one. John Linville, Delana's dad and Harvick's father in law passed away during the week leading up to the race. Famously on NASCAR Drivers 360 in 2004, Harvick plead a joke on his father-in-law where he filled the inside of his pickup truck full of superballs.
I agree with most of this list. However I would remove his 2014 phoenix win and move everything up and place the inaugural Chicagoland race #10. Why? Because I think winning inaugural races are a pretty big deal.

Was playing thunder 2004 the other day and realized with harvicks retirement every driver in it is in the history books now unless newman still does select starts but Harvick was the last full timer in that roster 😢
Had Pocono last year not ended Kurt’s Career we might still have had 1 of them going into 2024 and maybe 2025
@masoneveridge4078 yes that's also true but definitely sad being arguably one of the top 5 nascar games is entirely history roster and in some cases tracks. Old Darlington and old Atlanta
And the fact that the only legendary drivers in that game alive are Petty Yarborough and Allison and most of them that died was before the game released Elmo Langley died in 1996 while getting a feel of the Layout of the Suzuka Circuit for the upcoming exhibition race Dale Earnhardt Alan Kulwicki don’t need to say much there Tiny Lund died in 1975 at Talladega in a race he originally didn’t qualify for but Grant Adcox (died 1989) withdrew after his crew chief died and ones that died after the release were Bobby Wawak died 2004 Benny Parsons died 2007 and Junior Johnson died 2018 other deaths of drivers in the 2003 or 2005 game include Bobby Hamilton and John Andretti but the big death to some now was the death of the 18 MBNA Busch series driver Coy Gibbs

I'd say 2018 New Hampshire since it was a good race from start to finish. 2019 was not good until the second half of the race and I blame the aero package for that

@@shaine2243 In 2019, they used hard tire compounds that didn't really have tire wear and the big spoiler made it easier for Harvick to block Denny. But I'm not complaining because Harvick's my guy and I was there to see it in person!

It's obvious Atlanta would get the #1 spot. It cemented him into racing history and as one of the Top 75 NASCAR drivers of all time. Daytona and Talladega are 2 and 3, respectively, whilst Auto Club is 4, Indy is 5, his championship win is 6th, mainly cause by then I was so used to seeing him come out of nowhere and steal the spotlight

I might not watch as much just because of how meaningless championships are and serves zero purpose of racing hard. That being said, I'll still bounce around and go to the races. I'm now gonna be a Bell fan with McDowell as my underdog driver.
