Ladies and gentlemen, today in this video I focus on the new C8 Z06 Corvette Z07 high wing. I do my best to explain the differences between this new high wing and the C7 ZR1 high wing. NEW MERCH LINK: daggercustomapparel.com/brink_of_speed_gear/shop/product-detail/1003775
From a aerodynamic perspective. The sides are where the most pressure is exerted, i would guess for high speed cornering. The middle section is like F1 DRS that when pointed straight allows the wind to vortex in the middle for added stability, and straight line speed.
Yes, when I was filming the Z07 they said I could but I was so busy filming everything else, I totally did not and I’m kicking myself for not doing it.
Hey guys I need your suggestion please. I’ve placed a deposit for a c8 stingray about 4 months ago. I was planning to get it with the non Z51 package since I wouldn’t track the car. I care about looks more than performance since I would just be driving it on the weekends. I was going to order a HTC, non z51 with all the carbon fiber options from factory and some market CF parts (lips and spoilers) . I was also planning to put some after market wheels, forgiatos which are like 7k since I don’t like the factory wheels at all. With adding the performance exhaust and front memory lift the price comes out to $83k before taxes. After all the customization with the after market wheels and CF that i mentioned I’m looking at almost $95k - 100k with tax etc. I was ok with all this but the only other thing I wished Chevy offered on the stingray was the adrenaline dipped interior. Lo and behold Chevy announced that on the Z06. I never planned on getting the Z06 but now when I watched the reveal the z06 has everything I wanted. It looks so aggressive just the way I wanted it. It comes like that from factory and I don’t have to buy parts and wheels from various places and get them installed. The factory body , wheels , exhaust are all excellent. Plus it has the red dipped leather and better faster engine is a cherry on top. My main question is, Should I stick to plan a and get a stingray and customize it with aftermarket parts, exhaust and wheels or get the Z06 Which comes from factory with all the things that I wanted. Of course I would love to get the Z06 since everything I want is w from factory but I’m not sure about the price point. You think with all the options I want, will it exceed 100k ? Is it with paying more or just stick to the sting ray? Thanks in advance.
I have a question!! Is the inner barrel of the carbon fiber rim white because of the special ceramic coating for heat control. I know Tadge mentioned the coating in another video. I’m hoping they are dark not white..??
It's getting harder and harder to decide what to comment on with this Beast. For now, all I can say is WOW on the High Wing. I'm always down for the function of it, but to me Looks Matter and boy, is this one a LOOKER! I'd buy this wing to install as Wall Art. It's truly a Masterpiece of design akin to the beauty of any of Michelangelo's Sculptures. And just think about the Master. He didn't have the aide of computers for his designs. The only computer he had was the one between his ears! Plus, having this GM produced sculpture on my wall may help to keep my garage grounded in a Force 10 Hurricane.🤣 Hey, I always expect the unexpected and I know that you can never say never.😉 In summary Mike, out of all the areas on the ZO6 you could have chosen from, and there are many, you really picked the perfect center-piece IMO to focus on for this upload. I've watched this video three times and I don't think I've detected anywhere near all the subtleties in the curves of this High Wing. Hard to explain, but I'm totally captivated it. Well, nuff said I suppose from The Man of Few Words. But there's still a lot of time left to my evening and I just brewed a fresh pot of my Chock full O'nuts! So stay tuned😂 and SAVE THE WAVE👋 P.S. I paused the video too soon so that I could comment. Now I'm looking at your highlighting of the mounting of the wing. I dare say that you, Neighbor Mark and both your wives could walk on with virtually no flexing of it with the way reinforcement/mounted! This ZO6 is truly a track-ready Vette and it's encouraging to see a "real" example if you will, of how and why Car Manufacturer's stay with racing and building their race cars and ultimately taking their designs in both body and engines and applying a lot of same to produce street cars for we mere mortals to drive. These cars will never be out driven by 99.9% of their owners and I would be one them. But who cares! I'd rather too much of all the technology and never be capable of using it, that the other way round.
I'm going to either do the cicio performance twin turbo or the Lingenfelter/Magnuson supercharger kit to my c8..would love to come meet up with one of you guys that gets your hands on an early zo6 allocation and see how they compare..would be interesting and fun i think👍🏼
Great vid mike. I love the high wing. Do you think that Chevy revealed the Z06 to early. It's going to be awhile before it's in our driveway. Material shortages. Magnesium etc.
Great video and content as always, Mike. Rumor has it that there will be an aero only pkg add for the Z06 that is like the Z07s aero, but I have not been able to get on the visualizer. Do you know if there’s any truth to that? Thanks!
Nice video Mike. The high wing is some serious down force management. A bit more than this old man will ever need. I'll leave it to the real track drivers to test it out.
I honestly wasn’t a fan at all of the C7 ZR1 high wing. THIS on the other hand is “True Functional Beauty” both in form and design. Love the look of it and being all Carbon Fibre makes it a piece of art. No comparison to the C7 ZR1 at all as on that car it honestly looked like it was just an afterthought screwed into the body. This new one is on a WHOLE different level (as is the entire car). Stunning. Keep up the excellent content and cheers from Ottawa, 🇨🇦
Tadge Juechter said that this wing has 6% more downforce and 8% less drag than the C7 wing. However, I am struggling to understand downforce at the speeds GM quotes. Everything I read is that the downforce is 734 at 186 mph; however, typically from stats I have read, downforce is at 200 kph, which is a huge difference vs 186 mph (300 kph.). IMHO 186 mph is somewhat meaningless because I never hit anywhere near that at the track in my C5R-427, and although the Z06 is faster, I doubt that it will hit that on the back straightaway at Road Atlanta. I am no expert, so someone please help me understand! I would think seeing how it correlates to other cars by using the standard of 200 kph would provide better insight...am I missing something?
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!👎👎👎👎👎😬👎😬👎👎Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf

Why!?
Wife: “I don’t care how much downforce we are getting…slow down before you get a ticket!”
😂😂 yeap
Lol, 😂

All that aero will be your friend at high speed. They seem to put a lot of thought into it.
Yes sir.
And it all looks so damn good and makes the corvette unmistakably unique looking, any word on a manual though.
I like the cutout view better it's good to see how it connects to the car frame when the cars complete the left side looks just like the right side
I hear ya. I like it too.
I love that design, aggressive, beautiful, sport, awesome for me. 👍
😊👍
Chevy did an absolutely mind-boggling incredible job with the ZO6, I can't even begin to imagine what they're going to do with the ZR1!
Thanks for that I like that you've covered the z06 even in that half and half through inside look.

Nice, amazing feedback as usual! Thank you 😊👍
love the look of high wing, I was considering getting VR stat wing.
Did GM let you get in a z06.
Yes, when I was filming the Z07 they said I could but I was so busy filming everything else, I totally did not and I’m kicking myself for not doing it.
@@BrinkofSpeed dang it you right! You should have said something!
I LOVE IT
Do you think that spoiler will fit on a c8 stingray?
Its nice looking wing indeed!
I couldn’t help notice how wide those wheels are! You really get to see the width of them with the fenders removed 😅
Sure enough, oh yeah, they are huge!
That Spoiler is must for me.
Me too 👍😊

Zorba Corvette should have Lamborghini doors.!
The sides are called End-Plates
Thank you, it wasn’t coming to my head 😊🤦♂️👍
I don’t want Z07, but I want he high wing. Carbon flash preferably. How much will it cost is the question…..
I hear ya and I’m not sure.
