I really appreciate hand-built stuff, the passion just oozes out of the final product. I work with metal but whatever the material, hand carved has it's own beauty.

Witch of Endor-what a fun boat. You can keep your fancy fiberglass and plywood yachts. I would take a boat like this any day... Would love to have a horn like that for my truck.

I have been to the Wooden Boat Festival myself in a previous life but now follow you two on Mirool and have reached Yamba so I'm a bit behind. Love all your vlogs but especially your "Someone asked me why I don't buy a catamaran, but I like sailing too much." I reckon you have given Mirool a new lease of life with her restoration. Happy sailing Guys!!!
My grandfather had restored 2 steamboat hills and built both engines in NH. I love the wooden boats, my first sail on the ocean was in 40’ schooner. Thanks for this video!
Visited the wooden boat fest in Hobart last year whilst touring Tassie, also visited the wooden boat school in Franklin that is well worth a visit. Excellent vid again guys.

The practicality of a plastic boat is undeniable, but wooden boats, even humble but well maintained, are just gorgeous. My father had an all wood 18ft (~5.5m) catboat (I think I mentioned this in comments on another video). Eventually the maintenance requirements overwhelmed him, and he sold it. Many fond memories of that catboat....Cheers.

Wow!!! Folly III!!, I spent countless hours refitting her. Did Steve mention the work that went into the engine box?? Steve, aka "captain folly" is an awesome bloke! I'm actually working on follyIII right now.
The triple expansion steam engines are fascinating. I did a day trip on The Waverley in Scotland a few years ago. The last seagoing passenger-carrying paddle steamer in the world. Worth it just to be mesmerised by the giant engine and paddles chugging away.
