Thats amazing! That segment I watched live as it aired and to this day to this very moment that I am here watching this video I maintained in my minds eye that he didn’t really (for the most part) break kafabe and dump on everything that we loved about Dustin throughout his career! (Again for the most part) Because it hurt me as a fan! I loved the entrance I was intrigued by the character then to find out that he not only hated the gimmick but Goldust as well I was a bit hurt as a fan. Bc gimmicks aside Dustin is a really great in ring performer! So I was bummed, it was like being insulted by the one you admire for being a fan of his. Alec Guinness O.G. Obi-Wan once insulted a 10 yr old fan who asked for an autograph bc Alec felt Star Wars was childish nonsense. (Alec wanted to work with Lucas more than he wanted to be in SW) it felt like that. So I am finally relieved to know that it was a work a Kayfabe/shoot with understandable notes of truth.

Most people think that the Seven character was Russo's idea, and since they hate Russo they think the character was terrible by default. Honestly, it's the kind of thing that gives you very little hope for human beings. It was a brilliant character, and it would have been brilliant no matter who's idea it was.
I wish Dustin would have brought the character back in AEW as the new leader of The Dark Order. It would have breathed new life into the group by making them actually interesting again like they were with Brody Lee. They've been the drizzling shits since Brody's death. I think they're mainly on RoH now and are back to being heels, but I don't watch RoH and from what I've seen they are still a shell of what they were. Hell, over half of the group is gone and they're down to like 3 (possibly 4) members I think not counting negative one. Anyway, if not Dark Order leader, I would have at least liked to have seen a one-off return for Halloween or something. Would have been super nostalgic and probably gone down it history much like it did back in WCW. Everyone remembers Seven because the character was loaded to the brim with Mystique.

Lol steven rhoads... WCW was THE SHIT. The creative team was SO GREAT, that vince had to buy it out snd destory it. And seven wasnt your creation, you even said that when you quit LIVE ON TV. I literally watched the clip ten seconds ago "THEY GOT ME OUT HERE DRESS UP LIKE UNCLE FESTER, BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU WILL DISRESPECT MY FATHER, MY FAMILY AND ME!" And why are u saying vince created the idea of seven? He didnt own WcW for another 3 years lololol

i wonder now when did he find out that it actually was the network wanting the character killed off and not just Russo trying to screw him, cause he said he believed it was Russo fucking around and he just said ok fine, but when and who confirmed that no it really was Turner saying no we can't do that

So it was Dustin idea, not Russo? Man, everyone was saying it was Russo idea for years. Glad it was dropped. Sorry, Dustin, but the idea sucked. He looked like Uncle Festers from the Addams Family. Also, I thought the network didnt like the promos because it came across that he was a child predator not satanic.

I seen it as a cross of Dark City and Powder. But I love how when Dark Order was recruiting, they told Dustin he could be #7 as a kick to the character. Seven would have worked well with Undertaker's Ministry. It would work great now, as a heel, have Darby turn on Sting, and join Seven, as his protege

Had no idea the character was his idea. The characte was awful, but now I know why it was that terrible. They didn't let him do what he intendet to. A problem you still have today. Wrestler go to the boss (like Vince) tell him an idea and they just ignore him and made the do some nonsense or let them guard catering. Dustin is sooo talented and it happens twice to him in 2 different companies.
