    Thank you, Sedge, I am going to use a file and sanding block on my next edge-banding project, it looks like a great time saver. I really appreciate your efforts to provide good information for cabinet work.

    If you don't have a file card.... in a pinch...an in expensive chip brush with the bristles cut down close to ferrule makes a fantastic file cleaner ...bonus is the pointed wooden handle makes a great pick for stubborn bits

    Thanks Sedge! It is nice to see a simple way to do it. I shared your Link for the iron with my wife, as she will need a new one since I "borrowed" hers. Great Shirt "Big D".

      @@sedgetool As usual, this video did not disappoint. While I would love the Conturo, I've rarely found myself needing to edge band, so this gives a practical way for the few occasions where I would need to use it. Thank you for sharing your years of experience and I'm waiting for the Sedge Tool workshop so I can sign up for that. Cabinet class?

      @@sedgetool I would pay for a weekend course in a heart beat. It's disheartening there aren't in-person Festool classes being taught since the pandemic. Every time I see a new video, I'm learning how to get the most out of my tools and apply them to my woodworking.

    Great video you guys... Haven't done edge banding yet or purchased the specialty tools to trim the edges. Have files though.... Thanks for the demonstration 👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻

    I just did a paint grade project out of plywood and used the iron on stuff. Bought the double sided tool and it really chewed up the corners of that stuff. I was really underwhelmed by the results. Luckily nobody will ever lnow anything but I will be using these techniques next time.
    Thanks for the post!

      you bet William

  • @warrensmith2902
    @warrensmith2902 ปีที่แล้ว

    Going to have to try the file trick. I take the double sided trimmers, take them apart, to only use one side at a time. That usually takes care of the grain issue.
    Also Fastcap makes a line of edge banding that uses PSA which is not suppose to require any heat (🤣🤣🤣). The stuff you buy at a big box store is a little lumpy for my taste.

    I do all my edge banding with scissors (cut to length), clothes iron (stick), scraper sharpener (burnish), 3/4" chisel (cut ends), cabinet scraper (flush edges), sanding block (ETS EC 150 turned off with the vacuum on)

    Great Video as usual sedge! how would you go about doing 1mm edge banding that can't be ironed on? the 0.5mm (iron on) isn't very durable, could be an Idea for another video
