    Though its a bit pricey, I do believe installing PPF at least 18-24" inches from the front tip of the car is worth the investment. Gone are the days of placing vinyl mask/bra - looks hideous.
    This is exactly what I did to my 2021 Toyota GR Supra. The ceramic coating was installed by me after a light paint correction.
    Great contents!

      Sectional pieces of PPF on a panel always look like crap. Do the full panels! I always see cars of half a clear bra done with rock chips behind the line of the PPF lol

    Did any interior clean/protection? I've heard SG likes a lot of decaf soy lattes for his coffee runs and it would be a shame for those things to spill on the interior.
    A bit more seriously though, the tint thing has also happened to me in underestimating the darkness of tint once applied. In that case we wanted some additional heat/UV protection even for the rear glass that had factory tints and went with a very reasonable darkness level on a ceramic tint, only to have the car be limo tint dark after both of those where applied...it's great in the summer though!

    25% tint is crazy.
    Never knew savagegeese actually buy their cars, thought the OEMs usually give it to them and do they share the cars or each person has a car he uses his money to purchase?
    How about washing the car once this $5000 has been spent.
    Do you go to self-service car washes, touchless carwashes, or you must sacrifice and only wash it by hand ?

    I think with a car like this, you have to decide what your long term plan or goal is. Like, is this going to be your daily or weekend driver? How many km's/miles do you plan putting on this thing per year? After ten or twenty years, do you want a sub 10k km car or a sub 100k km car? If it were me, I'd probably drive the car only in the summer and after ten years, have less than 10,000 kms on it. I know everyone is looking and thinking about the prices of those Civic EK9 Type R that have less than 50k kms on them and just wishing they had that in their garage.

    I had a 2023 Civic Sport, I loved the car the only down fall was that it was black and I didn't get any ppf or ceramic coating on it. Honda black paint I think I could of scratched it with my fingernail down to the primer. It was very thin. I highly suggest if you are going to buy a new car that you get protection on it.
    I traded it for a 2023 Honda HR-V urban gray. Ceramic coated !!!

    • @ChicagoAutoPros

      Honda paint does tend to be very soft!

    • @Matys1975
      @Matys1975 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You will still get light scratches even with a ceramic coating. I had BC-4 Modesta coating put on my car that was brand new, I only hand wash it myself using the best techniques, and I still picked up a few very fine scratches just from road debris I assume. My car only has 2.8k miles

    • @8upJoker
      @8upJoker ปีที่แล้ว

      @Matt J I took my Civic in to get a couple scratches fixed, it came back with more scratches lol I seriously questioned if it was even legal to have the clear coat and paint that thin. I will never own a black cat again.

    • @Matys1975
      @Matys1975 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@8upJoker dark colored paints show swirl marks and light clear coat scratches the most. That is why I switched to white with my latest car. I will only own white cars until the day I die 😂. By the way, I think all Japanese cars have soft and thin paint, not just Honda.

    • @TheBreakfastLover
      @TheBreakfastLover ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honda uses a very soft paint, but it's also environmentally friendly quite glossy too. PPF *and* ceramic coating will keep it pristine.

    • @1anre

      How often do you have to renew putting the PPF on the car or is it once in a lifetime?

    • @Snkrheadzz
      @Snkrheadzz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1anre so ppf should be good for the lifetime of the car depending on how you maintain your ppf and also if your car is garaged. Ppf usually is good for 5+ years. But most ppf is lifetime warranty so I think it’s a good bang for your buck.
