i'll start with the cover statement that you seem to need to apply to any youtube comment these days and say that this is only my opinion, but this is just stunning. a song so full of melodic sadness has never sounded as beautiful. it does the original proud, bravo.
yeah i agree eesnoj completely their b-sides are amazing (like call to arms or take you home (only examples!)) their covers are great (my favs are she drove me to daytime tv, the days i recall..., hurt, and some more) and the rest youve said is so much true dude. one more thumb up for you. you speak out of my soul. fightstar are completely a great band with all, what a great band need.

aaaaaagh no one can do it like flaming lips. the iron and wine cover is the best i've heard; they really took it to a different level so that you didn't *feel* like you were listening to just an imitation. this is nice. but yeah, still a cover.

maybe you'd like the original Hurt more than Johnny Cash? i don't know the fightstar song but maybe they could pull off Nine Inch Nails. anyway what i have to say is if you first heard the Flaming Lips version/or are a fan of them, you'd know the original is so amazing it can't compare to a cover, no matter how well it's performed. not putting this version down at all, but i suggest you listen to the original as well. the Lips change lives :P cheers!
this song is absolutely amazing and covered by an amazing band....but not just that....all there covers including fear of the dark, breaking the law and even leper messiah are not only awesome but id go as far to say in there own way there better than the originals.....just my opinion guys please dont rip my balls off because i know how you all love to hate fightstar :)

Tbh this is better than the original, yes hate me i don't care but this has much cleaner vocals and just generally better
