    "If you amplify everything, you hear nothing." is an extremely ironic quote, given the 'noise' at the end of the video..

    Holy crap, the music absolutely RUINS this. It is far too loud, to begin with!!! Derp. The important thing is what he's saying, not the dumb music. Dislike.

    I was wondering how this video had so many dislikes.
    Then I got to the music at the end.
    Makes sense now.
    But still! I think this is one of the greatest modern speeches I've ever heard. "We live now in hard times, not end times". Fantastic.

    As incredible as you say this speech is, and I absolutely agree with you, it is absolutely ruined by the sound level of the music you added to it. The addition could be ok if it was quiet and subtle, but it drowns out the exact thing you wanted to highlight.
    Please edit it and reupload..........

      +toyz1784 It wasn't even that an appropriate of a song. It was more of a military march than anything inspiring.

      Something more classical with strings coming to a crescendo with his oratory would work really well, IMO.

    Will be forever grateful that I was there that day with my son. To be with so many like minded people, that clearly got it was reassuring and priceless. Jon gave a profound final speech. I just wish everyone could get it. I don't know that Jon really understands how he has really been the voice for so many. THANK YOU SIR

    Find another version of this amazing speech! This one is defective - there is a track of inappropriately loud music near the end that renders the best part of the speech inaudible. Extremely frustrating!

      Am I republican? Well, simply, I do feel that fiscal conservitism is beneficial to everyone. Am I democrat? Well I see nothing wrong with homosexuals or pro-choice. But these are the two choices given to Americans. Why cannot Americans believe in the limitation of government without saying that Homosexuals deserve equal rights. I don't get it!

      at their cores, republicans want a small uninvolved government, and democrats want a large involved one. The things your talking about are just side arguments to a bigger picture.

    America is going through a huge demographic change.....this statement I heard today. This is true, some how some way we, all Americans, must realize we live in a pluralistic society simply agree to disagree.I wish we could be polite to each other. America needs to develop a secular code of conduct based on respect for all and fairness.

    So what "party" are you if you're pro choice, pro gun, small but strong government, pro gay marriage, strong military, and fair taxation across the board? Because I am that party,and if it doesn't exist I am willing to form it. To anyone who wishes to join, but please help with a name my first choice is something like :compromises bitches it is how democracy works" but that seems too long.

    • @daglog8664
      @daglog8664 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Boddie Bernie Sanders agrees to a large extent, he's pro choice, pro gun, pro gay marriage, against the huge government giving out corporate welfare and extremely inefficient military spending. Depending on your definition of 'strong', even though he would cut back, he still believes the U.S. needs a strong defense.
      Getting money out of politics would get rid of overspending, and is the root of most problems in the U.S. There is nothing fiscally conservative about the vast majority of representatives (republicans, but also democrats) that only serve the interest of their donors.
      Even if you don't agree with tax-funded college and healthcare, IMO he certainly beats Hilary, Bush or Trump.
      Bernie Sanders has a lot of very outspoken positions, covering all of them would make this comment needlessly long, and there's plenty of footage of him doing a better job explaining them.
      (he has been an independent his entire political career, but is now running for president as a democrat.)

    • @chrisboddie2782
      @chrisboddie2782 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dag log I am sure he is popular among his peers lol.. It would be nice to have these politicians explain where they get there money from. I mean I need to explain my income to the IRS yet these politicians don't need to explain there campaign funds? They are already given special treatment. In any case I will look more into sanders I have heard very interesting thing about him (prior) to your post and have been meaning to look into him for a while now...

    • @liveformusic10x
      @liveformusic10x 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Boddie please just don't look at CNN or MSNBC or Fox. They won't tell you the truth, but actually go on his website and look up his platform. Watching him in debates is also good, especially against republican nutheads

    This guy is a comedian who thinks he's an intellectual.

    • @BenoitSarrazin
      @BenoitSarrazin 9 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Let me take a moment to correct your statement.
      This guy is great comedian. People value his sound and sane opinion over the lies of the media. Whether you think that he thinks he's an intellectual is irrelevant.

    • @MrAlistairb99124
      @MrAlistairb99124 9 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      This man is an intellectual who values his purpose as a comedian more than a politician. Cause comedy transcends barriers more than any political idealism. Therefore, his message will be more heard than if he was a political entity running for congress. This is a man who truly believes in his convictions. And that has nothing to do with left versus right. There is a middle ground that is sane!

    • @arthurclarke983
      @arthurclarke983 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You clearly don't watch him much or you'd know he's very well-informed and that he actually cares about the country. Feel free to think what you want; the fact is, talking heads, politicians and intellectuals have all learned to take Stewart seriously. I'm saying, people a lot smarter than YOU respect the man-- maybe that should tell you something.
