I first heard this song in 2015 at a bar when I took this girl on a date. Not many people were there and it was just us together at the counter. This song is so beautiful and I fell madly in love with her. 5.6 years later I married her just two weeks ago! Each time I hear this song it influences me to reflect on our journey together and where we started!
Cleaning out house and moving..raised all my kids here, quite nostalgic and sad. Some guy walks up to me and says " I used to live here, can I come in and look". He told me how his family lived and loved the place 1958-1992. We all dissappear and nothing really changes. Time is inside out
One of my friends who just passed played this song one day when we were hotboxing back in college. This song will always remind me of her. She was a beautiful soul.
She still is. A soul is our vessel to that next place. She's there. You will be one too. Time may be inside out but it's also circular. It all comes back around in the end......or the beginning.....
A girl that lives way too far away showed me this song. She was visiting my town. We had a Beautiful weekend. I fell in love with her madly. I never saw her again, but when I listen to this song it always feels like this particular weekend.
Music serves one purpose for most all of us. The time, the place and the things we did matter not. The people we spent our time with together creates moments without time, moments to be replayed and experienced again no matter the space and time between those people. Music brings it all back to the surface, and you can be there again for a few minutes. One day you realize the places we went, to things we did, hold no weight at all, it was all about the times we had together, where what happened or Will happen before and after aren’t s thought.
I get a lot of anxiety during exam weeks and it feels like a constant pit in my stomach. But this song is an instant remedy and helps me calm down, and for that I’m grateful
I heard this song for the first time in a parking lot of a grocery store. Not nearly as romantic as the rest of the comments, but still, the moment I heard it I knew that I couldn’t walk away without Shazamming it. This song is so enchanting and beautiful
My coworker introduced me to this yesterday. If you see this Kendra. I’m definitely vibing to this all weekend!!! Thank you 🙏🏾 girl. Evening shift Kenny.
I still listen to SPOON Everyday ‼️im 70 years old & female. Ive been listening to them from the beginning & i will until my End‼️ They are Beautiful Souls of this Earth 🌎 ❤️ I hold them near to my ❤️ Where ever I go in my ending I'm taking their music with me
I'm a gravedigger, and with covid-19, work has been grueling for many months. The last 8 days have been the busiest and darkest days I've had since I was deployed in the late 90's. I got home from work today and got served papers. Started having an anxiety attack, then I put this on repeat. Life isn't quite as hopeless anymore.
That's rough man. I'm super glad you found this gem of a song. It's changed my life for the better! I finally could get out of bed and begin a job! Woohoo! Small successes, my man!
Thanks everyone, sorry I never got notifications that anyone replied. I that evening when I got home and I was in a bad way mentally, and physically. Spoon definitely helped me a bit but things continued to be rough for me. I recently realized that I had borderline personality disorder and and still waiting to get my diagnosis so that I can get treatment but I have quit that job was working me 60 to 80 hours a week every week for almost a year straight. I now make $11 more an hour and only work 40 hours a week, so that was a big help. The more stress and anxiety I had, the worse my paranoia and mental state got. Thank you all for your replies and yes Tyson and Bella I am okay : ) Just when I think humanity is crap, a handful of strangers show me just how wrong I am, to each and everyone that replied, I hope you are happy and healthy... Thank you 🧡
There have been very few times in my life where music couldn’t pull me out of my depression. Recently I’ve been going through bouts of PPD and it feels like even music has lost its glimmer. I don’t know why but for some reason this is the first song I’ve heard in the last 6 months that has made me feel alive again. Thank you Spoon for helping me rediscover my love of music. ❤
Is it possible to fall in love with a song? If I could marry a song, I would marry this one. Lyrics: Time's gone inside out Time gets distorted with This intense gravity I don't got time for holy rollers Though they may wash my feet And I won't be their soldier There's intense gravity in you (There's intense gravity in you) I'm just your satellite (I'm just your satellite) Ooh, and I know that time's gone inside out And now it's only like I told you Mmm, though they may wash my feet They do not make me complete Break out of character for me Time keeps on going when We got nothing else to give We got nothing else to give Ooh, cause our time's gone inside out I don't make time for holy rollers Mmm, there's only you I need They do not make me complete
first time listening to these guys, and wow. Just a masterclass of music production. So much going on in my ears. Left right panning of instruments, layered tones, vocals. just everything sonically pleasing.
one of the best music videos and songs to watch while baked af. so many good memories have been made with my friends slowly sinking into the couch, letting the images and music wash over you in waves
I was struggliing to describe how good this tune is to a music producer friend of mine, ended up saying 'it's like Lemon Jelly but with vocals', which is high praise indeed.
I like all the little details that make this more than just another "indie rock song", which goes for the entire album pretty much. All the little textures, ambiences, and guitar distortions. Good stuff :D
IntroSpectre6x3 That's because it is. Besides the use to describe independent labels, its used to describe an alternative rock sound that doesn't tend to be aggressive and has a more pop aesthetic. Radiohead can be described as such, and so can Thee Oh Sees, or Woods. Its a broad term, but it is a genre its a single and ambiguous description of the band but it is one way to describe their sound.
That was rather my point with the comment, simply pointing out that it sounds exactly like you would expect "another indie rock song" to sound. That may or may not be a bad thing, depending on your outlook.
Amazing track from Spoon, I remember having loved it right after I heard it on the radio. Thanks to radio Nova, in France, for always spreading really talented people and bands. Years after, it's always a pleasure to listen to this track. Their album also is really good. I'm like flying, dreaming, floating in space...and maybe more simple things, enjoying this track, thanks to them.
I just realized this was in my playlist I made in 2014 when I was 11,, in 2019 I attended to Cage the Elephant’s concert and Spoon was the opening band. I thought I didn’t know them but I just realized I used to listen to this song on repeat.. this is crazy, ily spoon !!!
Spoon is the best! My husband and I met Britt after a concert, in Peoria Illinois, and he was so down to earth! Thanks for making our night, one to remember!
+BigRedChester A great place to start is with Gimme Fiction. It's a very accessible and catchy album. Even though I absolutely love Spoon, it took me a while to love Transference (I actually hated it at first), but every single one of their albums is utterly fantastic, through and through :)
I didn't know about this band until I saw them on Fallon sometime in August '14. It was the summer before I started junior year of high school, which is when I got into indie music. I love this band; their music; the fact that they've been around as long as they have; and them being from my future home of Austin, TX. One of their songs was in The O.C. (starring fellow Austinite Ben McKenzie). This band is sooo underrated.
A lot has happened since 2010. I saw them at the 9:30 Club in DC that year and it was electric. They certainly inspired me in my own journey as a musician. This music gives me the most visceral feelings. Listening to this is the closest thing possible to going back in time. It's the most painful and beautiful, tragic and haunting nostalgia. How much I wish things had happened differently since then. So much loss, grief, pain, struggle, suffering and trauma. Acceptance and believing in the process is the only path forward.
Time's gone inside out Time gets distorted with This intense gravity I don't got time for holy rollers Though they may wash my feet And I won't be their soldier There's intense gravity in you (There's intense gravity in you) I'm just your satellite (I'm just your satellite) Ooh, and I know that time's gone inside out And now it's only like I told you Mmm, though they may wash my feet They do not make me complete Break out of character for me Time keeps on going when We got nothing else to give We got nothing else to give Ooh, cause our time's gone inside out I don't make time for holy rollers Mmm, there's only you I need They do not make me complete

The song hypnotized you. She had her friend play it, Syren. 😉
Coffee shop for me. I said “what are you listening to? I love this.” Had kinda given up on Spoon before this
Thanks for the beautiful journey fellow spirit being.

Time is a flat line..a spiral.
One of my friends who just passed played this song one day when we were hotboxing back in college. This song will always remind me of her. She was a beautiful soul.
My condolences, sis

My condolences to you and your friend's family. She had exquisite taste in music
Aw. Glad we have memories 🥰 even if they make us sad, focus on the joy

Hey, what's your name and the town you live? I freakly chilled when reading to this- I lived a very similar story in the girl's position
Just listening to this song, it was on my friends playlist, he passed away from a drug overdose a few years ago. RIP Jesse Pagard , aka Sebastian!
Such a lowkey song. Who thought something so simple could be so genius.
Billie Eilish fans?
I get a lot of anxiety during exam weeks and it feels like a constant pit in my stomach. But this song is an instant remedy and helps me calm down, and for that I’m grateful
I thought I was the only one! Used to listen to this song on the bus to campus for my exams

Every second of this song is like being in heaven.
Hello😊🌹
I was eating cereal this morning and it reminded me of this band.
Was it your utensil that reminded you?
Spoon is the best thing that ever happened. EVER.

Wow your comment just hits me hard as I constantly struggle with depression
Hope your feeling better, music is the best medicine. Stay strong, alot of good things coming

Lyrics:
Time's gone inside out
Time gets distorted with
This intense gravity
I don't got time for holy rollers
Though they may wash my feet
And I won't be their soldier
There's intense gravity in you
(There's intense gravity in you)

Ooh, and I know that time's gone inside out
And now it's only like I told you
Mmm, though they may wash my feet
They do not make me complete
Break out of character for me
Time keeps on going when
We got nothing else to give
We got nothing else to give
Ooh, cause our time's gone inside out
I don't make time for holy rollers
Mmm, there's only you I need
They do not make me complete
Me too
Are you on to another song? This, a song of the past. That, surly makes time, inside out.
3 years no see...
What would you do if you married it? Have sex with it or what?

Creative and eclectic. Spoon is one of the better bands this decade. Enjoy.
Also, they played live on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this week- very cool.
Cool transitional effect. It reminded me of the "Remain in Light" album cover.
The Strokes too, I love these kinda bands.
Such a sweet little ditty. Puts a smile on my face every time! "There's intense gravity in you. I'm just your satellite."
Listened to this song whilst super high - when the bass kicked in I almost died. Great tune
Doing this right now
Mikhail Bolus SAME
Same dude and I had headphones on too. My head nearly exploded
Mikhail Bolus try dosing and listening to this
lets just say this song changed my life lol
I can't stop listening to this
This song speaks deeply to my soul and as a photographer I appreciate the video. There’s a lot of symbolism hidden in it.
I wish I was a little deeper..I like never get symbolism but then when someone points it out my mind is blown lol I’ll rewatch and look for stuff
When you know what to look for you can't not see the symbolism. Glad I'm not the only one. Do you know what the video effect is that is being used?
I’ve listened to this song a bazillion times but never watched the video all the way through. Beautiful.
discovered this band recently and its weird-comforting how nostalgiac and familiar it sounds
This song is so beautiful. It kinda brings me to tears. Beauty and magic are real in this messed up world, man.
This song has been my alarm and ringtone for like 5 years. I don't get tired of it, I can't. When people call I don't answer so I can hear it play.
My 17 month old's favorite song! He's got good taste in quality music, like his old man!
This song has the power to make me feel contempt for the present, anxiety for the future, optimism for the past.
Best thing Austin Texas has ever produced! Timeless music, explanation of life and all of its complexities.
Chillaxin wit my son Kyle, listening to tunes.
Heard this in the german Podcast Fest & Flauschig before a few years. Still love it.
This song is Grammy worthy. They should make more music like thid. It makes you feel like you're in ecstasy.
true
How bout my Grammy!
Urine ex, tasty!
Ecstasy is the name of my playlist with this song ❤
I love the fact there is a new SPOON record in 2014, things are gonna be alright.
plus a new pink floyd album in october!!
It's been a couple long years with no new Spoon....

This isnt a song, this is an experience
After seeing it live, can confirm!!!!!
Hello from Thailand, I’m still listening this song until today.
I was struggliing to describe how good this tune is to a music producer friend of mine, ended up saying 'it's like Lemon Jelly but with vocals', which is high praise indeed.
This song is timeless including the video.
Seeing Spoon tomorrow. This is one of my go-to "soft" songs. Effortlessly positive and ethereal.
Five minutes of smooth, ethereal melody--I absolutely adore this.
Thank you spoon... one of the few bands of the last 15 years that I truly like. Excellent musicians.
This is the best song they've ever made
Underdog is good too
Underdog tho
This song is now exactly one year old. Wow. Never gets old though.
Still not old.
I used to have that book. I had so many books. So many rare books. All gone. I will get them back before I disappear as well.
I like all the little details that make this more than just another "indie rock song", which goes for the entire album pretty much. All the little textures, ambiences, and guitar distortions. Good stuff :D
I think you just defined indie rock, as a genre.

It transcends indie rock to art like arcade fire
Thats why its not indie rock but dream pop lol
Highly underrated song.
This is that specific type of song that WILL fuck with you later; it's already attached to a time in my life. SPOON is a very understated band.
Oh man, this album is sounding so unreal so far! Cannot wait for August
This song is some type of magic
Just discovered on radio... LOVE! Beautiful

Wait they were in my goddamn city and no one told me!?
How was the show?
This used to be my shhhh! Still listening!!
This makes my heart ache in the strangest way... I love it.
Sometimes a song does not require words because the beat alone takes you wherever you need.
✌🏻✌🏻❣🌹
So glad this album is as good or even better than their previous ones
I figured it would be haha. They one of those bands that's never displeased me with an album
I was really unsure about what to expect before listening to this album but it turns out to be one of the best ones if not the best
Hi im new to this band and waslooking to pic up an album of theres. What wwould you guys say is the best?
Hmmm I'd either go with the new one or gimme fiction... But they're all really good anyways in my opinion
kurt donald I actually would say the new one is their best most mature work. Then I would say GaGaGaGaGa and then Gimme Fiction.
sooooo smooth
Just LOVE this band, especially this song.
This song is the definition of masterpiece.
Didn't know what to think at first, but a minute in I was hooked. You guys always surprise me in the best way.

+BigRedChester Dude, you need to listen to their Transference album. It is amazing.
+Obviously Pony Plays! Every album they've put out is amazing. My favorite is Kill the Moonlight.
Midnight Son Oh yeah of course, but Transference is my personal favorite, with my favorite tracks as well.
+BigRedChester A great place to start is with Gimme Fiction. It's a very accessible and catchy album. Even though I absolutely love Spoon, it took me a while to love Transference (I actually hated it at first), but every single one of their albums is utterly fantastic, through and through :)
This song has got such a good beat to it.
