IT'S NOT PRODUCT, IT'S THE CUT!!!! Your hair needs to be longer in the front than the back and cut in a way that the long hair at the front is supported by the hair in the middle. Once you have the right cut you can literally use any product and it will keep its shape.

Your hair is probably just too long. I got about 12 inches of hair on the top and I would have use such a ridiculous amount of product to keep my hair back. So instead I use a headband

Hello, I'm a male in my early 60`s but still have a good amount of hair. But, it's not like it was when I was in my 20`s. Lol How can I keep my hair looking full and back? I just had my hair layered and I am growing it out. Or should I at my age? My hair length goes just below my brows and is wavy. Thanking you in advance.
Not an expert in any way, but you may find this helpful. Start using actual shampoos instead of the 2 in 1s and start using conditioner. I mean you may already do this but if you dont just know it makes your hair much better.

It's too short. Must be much longer in front and on sides to stay back, even with the best possible product. If it had not been cut since the moment the comment was written, some 8 mths ago, the proper length should have been almost reached right now.

What do you mean by the terms pre and post styler?
A seasalt spray for example is a pre styler, you can use it BEFORE you blow dry your hair. It gives your hair more volume and more texture.
A post styler could be a wax or a gel. You can put it in your hair AFTER your hair is dry. Blow drying your hair is the best baseline, from there products could hold better and longer.
