- An unfortunate shopper's finger got stuck in a grocery cart. Ashley Nolan was fidgeting her finger in a shopping cart when it became stuck. The shopping cart incident is the first time Nolan called 911 for being stuck. Once an ambulance arrived, Nolan was embarrassed by the number of emergency crew workers who showed up. After 30 minutes, Nolan was finally freed. Thankfully, she did not suffer any injuries.

The fact that she made this whole thing public is unbelievable. She was embarrassed so every time it happened she filmed it and gave it to the news station and she was interviewed. This whole thing is ridiculous. People will really do anything to be seen.

It really isn't that deep. It's funny, it's a common occurrence so now she films it whenever it happens. Out of all the things people go vital for this is by far some of least offensive.😂

I got my head stuck in an old iron fence when I was a kid in the 1970's and I still hear about it from friends and family to this day. 😂 Seeing this clip makes me not feel so bad about my experience.

Agreed. I honestly believe she's doing it for some form of attention, and I seriously mean that. Munchausen syndrome most likely. Especially when she's all happy to see those first responders and even more so when she sees more arrive. I would personally be terrified if more had to arrive just to get my finger out of a cart.

in my county, they will bill when the ambulance responds to an emergency. minimum is $670(which is still applicable even if you decline or refuse medical services). transport to the nearest ER is $1100. Of course, they bill it to your health insurance. No insurance, no problem... the county allows you to pay as little as $25 per month until the balance is paid off. Let that woman know and she'll most likely never have finger, arm or any other part of her body caught in anything and everything.

I tend to do the same thing, sticking my hand in small crevices absentmindedly because it feels comfortable. Even though I have tried on multiple occasions to stop, I have only been able to reduce the AMOUNT of times it happens, not the behavior entirely.

She needs to get help for this.. they need to send her the bill for the 911 call only because she’s saying she might do it again, that might deter her from doing it again. They didn’t seem to be smiling at her jokes.

I have anxiety but boy that's gonna suck getting your hands stuck in awkward places because of fidgets, if that were me I wouldn't be calm my anxiety would have taken over me the moment I realized I'm stuck.
But she's bringing these occurrences on - upon herself. She has anxiety so she's giving herself something to be anxious about. There's a term that explains this called "compensation by substitution".

At first I was like "well it could happen to anyone" then they showed how she has a habit of getting her body parts stuck where they shouldn't be, some people never learn.
In middle school, my arm was briefly stuck between the bars that house the gold in the basement of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. Happily, I was able to perform a twisting motion and dislodge myself before the authorities had to get involved.

It's okay Ashley, I used to get stuck on every spinning door in every hotel we go, and almost died once. I grew out of it (or could be the fact that they stopped using spinning doors), but hope that stops happening to you 😆

Reminds me of this homeless man who was wheel chair bound. I SAW him purposely tip himself over from my office window!!! I saw someone pick him up and when they left, he did it again. The attention he got from this one foul trick was amazing.
We all do stuff that might require emergency help at times I do but thankfully I never needed emergency help before but hopefully after this incident hopefully Ashley will learn her lesson next time she won't be so lucky they might have to chop her finger her hand or arm off.

I do the same thing! I'm always fidgeting with my hands. I got a small pop it key chain and that has been able to maintain my focus when I'm in public. Plus my niece loves to play with it!
Thank goodness someone was present for these public events with her to document each disaster and post it on social media to warn others not to "accidentally" do the same and land in these predicaments 🙄😐

When my son was 4 he got his head stuck between the bars of a footrest and was eventually freed with the jaws of life. I spent a solid hour trying to get him out and had resorted to smearing butter down the sides of his head. I eventually called the cops and explained that he wasn't choking but I needed help. 3 firetrucks and 4 ambulances came into my little 28 unit apt complex because dispatchers send a code without talking and if that code has anything to do with someone trapped, stuck, etc. they send the cavalry. The EMT's clearly got a kick out of it.
First Responders: It's not the worst thing we've had to free.

Try not to fidget with hard plastics, they're sturdier and sharper than you'd think. Or I suppose your skin and flesh is a lot more fragile and squishy than you'd hope.
I shop late at night so I don't get anxiety, there is less people shopping late at night.
