ive had this pack for almost 4 years and have dragged it everywhere with me. back and forth to work everyday, and all over the country. and it has held up very well. still love it
I think this is one of the best, if not the best, review of this backpack. This is what convinced me 5.11 Rush 12 is what I need, and thus bought. Thanks.
it's worth every penny man. I have that exact pack in that exact color and it's been outstanding for me. I use it for daily commuting, air travel, and for mountain biking and day-hiking and it's held up great for all the use I've put it to. Save up for it and get it, you won't regret it!
One of the best review about this bag, from this video is easy to understand the bag when you wish to buy it online and you're afrait to waste money on something that doesn't fit on your needs. Thank you :)
I work at a prison and I use this bag everyday as my work/lunch bag. Have been using it for two years and it is holding up very well. No stitching is coming loose, or tearing.
Grreat review Sootch! I have that exact pack and I've been using it a lot for almost a year now. It's my daily commuting pack for work, my carry on for air travel and I use it while doing long distance bike riding or day hikes and it's held up great for all use I've put it to. I second your recommendation of this pack! 5.11 gear rocks! Thanks again for the great review and keep up the good work!
Great review. I have the Rush 24 pack and I really like it. It is just as you describe it. Lots of pockets and great zippers. I think eventually I would like to get the rush 12 and the rush 72 as well. You can't go wrong with this pack. Nice job sootch on getting the discount too. Thanks.
Very good video again. I got this bag since 14 month for daily use, it is perfect. Each small thing is well improoved. There is a hole in the top of the hydration area to come into the main pocket, where you can put the tube through. The plastic sheath in the hydro area even isolats the liquid from beeing warmed by the back of the user. I love this bag, its all worth the money. I attached more bags from 5.11 (2 x 10.6 and a med bag). For bigger things I have the Rush 72. Same, but bigger.
I switched from a MOLLE II ruck with sustainment pouches and sleep carrier, to a RUSH 72 and I fit everything I had in the MOLLE, inside the RUSH and still had room left over. Only thing I couldn't fit actually inside the bag was my 1 person tent. That bag is absolutely massive.
What a great review. Like the bag. I wear the 511 pants and they are great too. If the pack is anything like the pants, one can't go wrong. I have to check it out in their magazine or catalog that I get. Have a good day and thanks for sharing...
I love my MOAB 10. Although it's a little smaller than the RUSH 12, it allows for a single strap and had a dedicaded conceal carry pocket where you can fit a full size pistol. It is also designed for quick access so one can just swing it around rather than take it off when time is critical. It does still come with the buckle for fast removal of the bag. Over all, this is my favorite pack for edc/get home bag and is also an attachment bag to my home's bug out bag
I have a Rush 72. Same deal, great pack. As a side benefit, On top of my daily go bag needs, it perfectly holds my 17" laptop and it's gear. Solid win from 511
based on this review, ill be purchasing one for myself for Christmas. Thanks for finding me a great new versatile bag and causing me to spend another 100 bucks sootch!
I own this pack and it's tough as nails. I'm training for a Goruck event and put a 30 lb. square plate and a 10 lb. plate as well. And work out hard with this for an hour a day for the last 6 months. So far I don't have any wear or frayed seams. Also I can carry full sized water pouch.
They are hard use bags, a little heavier, but pay-off with durability. You are showing the updated version, the older ones are still out there, without Molle on bottom, rain guard shelf, updated yoke and without Tier System Molle. The TS allows the 12 to attach to the 72.You can fit a full size handgun in the bladder area.Very sturdy and comfortable yoke & QR straps, designed to take heavy weight. Good size for mobility and weight. The 72 hour is excellent. I carry 5 gallon water refills in it.
I have the Rush 24, and I love it! The one criticism I would draw against it is that the padded parts of the straps are too long and prevent it from being able to ride up high enough on my back (and I'm a big dude 6' 4" - 190lb). I still use it every day though, it's just such a useful pack.
I got the multicam rush 12 I love it I added a water bottle holder and some extra pouches to it I use it for a hunting day bag also added a hydration badder
What and awesome, in depth review! I've been looking at the rush series for long time as well. I really like the features, but they're a little heavy in my book. I still really want to try one though.
Not sure if I have an updated version but my Rush 12 does have a hole at the top of the hydration compartment which allows you to reach the exit port for your bladder tube.
Good video but living in the UK, I can't say I've ever gone for a walk and thought, I need to take an assault rifle with me. I've wished I'd have taken spare socks or waterproof trousers but never a gun. I must go to the USA sometime, it looks fun :-)
You get what you pay for, the fieldline I believe is made in China and is only single stitched. I saw 1 at the Walmart up the block from me and was going to buy it but when I looked over the bag 1 of the buckles had already broken so I said to myself what my Father always told me, "If you buy cheap you GET cheap"
I read that those lower "waist strap" attachement brackets are actually designed for your 5.11 belt to go through them. Not sure how true that is, but read it somewhere. Good review. Got a Rush 12 in Mulit-Cam; love it!
Good review. I just brought two of the them from Amazon -- not cheap bags but I think worth the price considering how sturdy they are. You glanced over the lack of gun retainment and I get it, the bag wasn't designed to carry a pistol. I am spending the weekend trying to rig a setup to hold my Springfield XD 45 4" with two extra mags. It is a challenge. Let me know if you find a way secure a weapon while maintaining quick access. All in all, the Rush 12 is an excellent "Go Bag".
I love the rush series. I EDC'd the rush 24 up until I went to a secured site for work that didn't like that i had an "operator's bag" (their words) and they tore my bag apart, looking for a secret compartment that didn't exist. I switched to the 5.11 covrt 18, so when I go back to that site I don't have to deal with the flashlight police. But my 24 is working great as a range bag right now and I need to convert it to a BOB.
Saw you had an AR in the opening... have you considered a sling pack (pack with one strap)? That would leave your shooting shoulder clear. Just thinking.
I have give up the vehicle EDC bag idea due to 3 car break-ins within the last 7 months. I've lost a 5.11 Rush 10, 12 and a Smith and Wesson EDC bag all since December. I can't seem to shake off the bottom feeders of society. It has become a very expensive loss and frustrating. I keep my Rush 72 B.O.B. in the house. I'm glad I don't keep firearms in my bags like I see in some videos. If and when I ever decide to build another vehicle EDC/GHB I will have to discipline myself not to leave it in the vehicle overnight.
If $100+ is an issue you should check out the Fieldline Tactical series of bags. Very similar in design, quality, and features... at less than half the cost.
Nice review as always!! Jus a note...These packs are made off shore, with inferior materials. And with a price tag of over a $100 definately check out Tactical Tailor, Spec ops,and blue force gear! They all make amazing ,high quality nylon products at the same price point and are made in the U.S.A!! Peace!!
Nice review. Not sure on this bag (12) or the mid-size for plane carry-on, hiking, wearing while cycling though the woods. Looks like this might be the right bowl of porridge for this bear.
Great video! Normally watch gun and knife reviews but that was just as good. Have you done one on the s&w m&p compacts? I was really curious because I'be been shopping around for the .40 cal version.
Nice looking bag, might have to check it out later and give it a run. Sootch or anyone out there in TH-cam, What is that front grip you have installed on your AR-15?
ive had this pack for almost 4 years and have dragged it everywhere with me. back and forth to work everyday, and all over the country. and it has held up very well. still love it
Thank you for actually wearing it. So many reviewers miss that step.
Why have i not seen this before?
I love it. In the netherlands we have a lot of rain and it holds up to 2h walking in heavy rainfall.
From a Brit, thank you for this review. Best one I've seen on this 5.11, Rush 12, Back Pack.
Once again the most detailed man in show tube.....God Be with you.
Sootch00 is so awesome that cool music plays when he goes walking.
I really love u guys cause u r totally devoted to whatever u do.
Keep it up.
One of the best review about this bag, from this video is easy to understand the bag when you wish to buy it online and you're afrait to waste money on something that doesn't fit on your needs. Thank you :)
Are those tactical flip flops?
Good outdoor sandels ate made by Keen,,they make good hiking sandels.
you son of ..... good joke
Just got one of these for Christmas. I put it on my list after seeing this video. Thanks for the recommendation, sootch!
I got this bag based on your review, and I love it! Keep up the great work. Big fan of your channel.
So that's how you do it... All these years I've been putting by pack on wrong. thanks for teaching me!
I work at a prison and I use this bag everyday as my work/lunch bag. Have been using it for two years and it is holding up very well. No stitching is coming loose, or tearing.

Great video thanks a lot for the upload, liked the fact you showed the bag in action at the start, details like that make all the difference.
Another good review. Nice job of showing off the capacity of the main compartment. Thanks.
I have to stop watching your gear reviews! Every time i watch a new gear review I end up buying the gear. Great videos!
0:27 ive watched this 50 times trying to figure out why you randomly just grabbed a tree and walked off.
Will Tisdale same 😂 epic
Like he was gonna rest for a second but hears something off in the distance. No time to stop, gotta keep moving lol
Same, lol

Solid review. Thanks for putting in the effort to produce another excellent review.
Best review for this model. Thumbs up
Thanks Sootch, picked up one of these bags today as my EDC / go too and from work bag largely based on your review!
Your video just sold me on this backpack. Just bought one. Thanks!
I think this will be the perfect multifunctional bag for me. EDC, minimalist go bag, travel pack .
Typical for my favorite channel. Nice job.
another great review. also really nice that theres a discount code available.
keep up the good work sootch
Great review. I have a Rush 72 as my BOB and love the quality of the 5.11 bags.

Great product, thanks for posting.
Very thorough review. Thanks for helping me make an informed purchase.
From the looks of it, I'd never had thought the Rush 12 carried twice as much as Sitka. Thanks!
based on this review, ill be purchasing one for myself for Christmas. Thanks for finding me a great new versatile bag and causing me to spend another 100 bucks sootch!
I use a Rush 24 for my patrol job. great bag. durable, great straps very comfortable fit even for a big guy like me.
In my opinion this was the best review thank you!
I think it's hilarious how you stare into the distance while putting on the pack. nice video btw
Surviving in sandals. Love it! Lol great video man. Just ordered one today.
0:15 Grabs backpack and AR-15 "Alright! Time to go for a peaceful hike through the woods! What a lovely day it is!"
Fantastic review sir - mine's coming in tomorrow. Thanks very much, very informative.
Great review - all relevent facts without waffle or bullshit.
That's a great small backpack!
I'm now going to buy the rush 12 thanks for the great review

Really good review. Nice bag
love the 5.11 rush bags cause of their clamshell design...you can get to the items at the bottom without digging through the whole bag...love 'em!
Very helpful review, thanks. Greetings from France :)
own this bag for 6years.still love it and in very good condition.and a lot of people keep asking me where did i bought this bag.
great review, may you never have any bladder problems!
What and awesome, in depth review! I've been looking at the rush series for long time as well. I really like the features, but they're a little heavy in my book. I still really want to try one though.
Still kickin my v1 as an edc for years😁🤗🤗
Not sure if I have an updated version but my Rush 12 does have a hole at the top of the hydration compartment which allows you to reach the exit port for your bladder tube.
Thanks Sootch00 for the review nice vid.
i absolutely love mine i carry it every day to school...i cant say enough good thangs about it
The 511 Rush series of packs are great, excellent value for the money.
Tacti-flops have the string that goes between your toes. What you had on were patrol sandals (slides).
He looks lost at the end😂 love the video though.
Nice review, great job.
Excellent review .Thank you.
Good video but living in the UK, I can't say I've ever gone for a walk and thought, I need to take an assault rifle with me. I've wished I'd have taken spare socks or waterproof trousers but never a gun. I must go to the USA sometime, it looks fun :-)
Do you really go hiking with your AR?
Edwin Au Yeung It sure does make Americans look screwed up!
Edwin Au Yeung I do.
I do all the time. You dont?
Why would you say that? An AR is just a weapon, like any other gun
westmeatguy....I live in canada and ever time I go in the bush I take a pump shotgun.
You get what you pay for, the fieldline I believe is made in China and is only single stitched. Thanks for the review sootch
great pack buddy
I got the MOAB 10 that I use for work, it's pretty cool.
Amazing video and definitely getting this bag for my birthday... but are you wearing sandals when you were hiking?😂
Top notch review! Thanks
Great design !
I read that those lower "waist strap" attachement brackets are actually designed for your 5.11 belt to go through them. Not sure how true that is, but read it somewhere. Good review. Got a Rush 12 in Mulit-Cam; love it!
cool review sootch :)
I went with the MOAB 10 for my EDC bag, but on of these or the Rush 24 would back a great trunk get home bag - or for day hikes.

They have a lot of molle accessories at 5.11 website including a pistol holster and double mag pouch
An oldie but a good e. Thanks
I love the rush series. Nice vid sootch... I was looking at 511 backpack line...i might go wi th thier larger backpack the rush 72.
Saw you had an AR in the opening... have you considered a sling pack (pack with one strap)? That would leave your shooting shoulder clear. Just thinking.
Thanks Sootch!
excellent review!
Sootch, do you prefer the Maxpedition Vulture II pack or this? I was wondering because they look quite similar to me.
I have give up the vehicle EDC bag idea due to 3 car break-ins within the last 7 months. I've lost a 5.11 Rush 10, 12 and a Smith and Wesson EDC bag all since December. Cool video, am thinking of getting one of these packs. Silly question, but what's the music you're using in the title sequence?
Good review, thanks
I have the 24, truly excellent kit . Nice review Sootch.

Great review.
You forgot where you parked the BOV, at the end there? Hehehe...great review, Brother.
Great video! Normally watch gun and knife reviews but that was just as good. Have you done one on the s&w m&p compacts? I was really curious because I'be been shopping around for the .40 cal version.
Nice pac, you can build on it for many types of uses
Sootch you should check out the eberlestock lodrag pack. Id like to know what you think.
Nice looking bag, might have to check it out later and give it a run. Sootch or anyone out there in TH-cam, What is that front grip you have installed on your AR-15?
