I literally cried when I lost my first Rush 12 on a journey after years of usage. I bought a new one immediately. And I like what they changed in the 2.0 version. I own a good dozen of backpacks, but the Rush 12 will always have a special place in my heart. Rush 12 - Each day, every day.
I have the same bag in black but the 2.0 which has the laptop compartment which I need. I work in an office and I do get looks also but I don’t care either. Also you can remove the chest strap if you don’t use it which I did since I don’t use it. If I do I can just hook them back on
Looks to me that area is/was reinforced with that small patch for that specific purpose. The prototype bag probably had the Wearing in the same area and to help remedy it they added some reinforced.

Yes. As someone who used to work at an outdoor gear specialty store and was “trained” to fit customers for hiking packs (take that for what it’s worth lol), he should have this pack riding higher on his back. The yoke would be better at load distribution.
I have never found or had a need for a bag. However I am finding more and more I need a bag. Working on the addition I wear old crappy clothing but when I go out to store of coffee shop I change. PLEASE READ !!hey love the video. i own the rush 72 and i have those rubber tabs on the lower back as well. but what i did i took a stitch remover. its a little plastic thing with a safe stitch cutter and you can just cut the stitches and remove those rubber tabs easily. cuz those tabs just tear at ur shirts and ruin the fabric of ur shirts down there. so i cut out the stitching and took them off. and underneath those rubber pieces is just the nylon like the bag is made out of. you cannot tell they were there to begin with. the backpack looks totally normal. and then those rubber patches dont rub on u and wreck ur shirt or look all messed up like in ur video. now my pack is perfect and looks perfect and no longer do my shirts get fabric irritation. you can find a stitch remover in the sewing section at any store. there only a couple dollars.

+Alejandro Cabrera Absolutely. Not exactly how much you need to carry but I'm sure it'll work just fine. If you feel you may have lots to carry you may want to move up to the 24 instead.
sablebush I honestly don't think there's much difference (for a female) in the two bags, they're both great with some different features but I don't feel one would be better than the other for a woman. My wife has worn both and even though the 20 has slightly more padding overall than the 12, she found both comfortable. The big difference between the two comes down to organizing your gear, the 12 has lots of pockets and pouches whereas the 20 has a few on the outside but it's mostly one big roomy pack on the inside.
sablebush The truth is no pack is perfect nor will it have everything you like or need, you have to find that one pack that can come as close as possible.
This is true but I don't EDC a laptop so it works for me. I've been using a couple Vanquest backpacks for EDC now and not only are they better for organization but they all have laptop sleeves or compartments. Thanks for stopping by. Very much appreciated.
The rush 72 has two side pockets perfect for large water containers, I’ll use those for water and pack the laptop in the hydration pocket, perfect for a 15” MacBook Pro
This video and review was good, exactly what I was looking for but it could be a bit shorter if you edited out the repetitive parts telling your viewers it's your edc bag and how many places you take it. Just a friendly suggestion. :) Have a good day!
Not exactly sure what a low budget kind of guy looks like. I certainly don't want to look like I have a lot of money... so I'll take it as a compliment. 😁
Thank you for your review! I own the same backpack. No doubt about its solidity and durability but..... it is really heavy ! According to me whenever you have to evaluate a bag, a suitcase or a backpack , the weight matters a lot. The challenge should be especially for EDC backpack to use advanced fabric to be resistant and waterproof while being light. The same happened for running clothes: in the past there were used cotton t-shirts, now the t-shirts are made of synthetic material, they are lighter and much more transpirant. The 5.11 rush 12 is a very good backpack but according to me there were no need to create such a heavy shield of cordura.
I don't pay much attention to the weight, it's never an issue for me. Especially EDC bags/packs because they'er not on my shoulder for very long, Just to go to the car or from the car into work. I do have the bag/pack all day with me when I go out but again it's not on my shoulders for any long length of time. Even my hiking packs, the weight isn't an issue. When I go into the woods to do my thing I rarely hike longer then 3 miles in and out. Maybe on a few occasions I hiked longer to get to a specific spot to work on a video but again I don't ever recall feeling like my pack was too heavy or that I couldn't handle it.
I literally cried when I lost my first Rush 12 on a journey after years of usage. I bought a new one immediately. And I like what they changed in the 2.0 version. I own a good dozen of backpacks, but the Rush 12 will always have a special place in my heart. Rush 12 - Each day, every day.

applemasterz17 That's awesome! I'm positive you're going to be very happy with it.
Why u choose rush 24?
Thanks 4 the video! Great information.
Good day,
What’s the color of that rush12? Great review 👍
Thank you! The color is sandstone. 👍
Got the same problenm with that rubber stopper things, i just cut them of ;-)
Everything else on the bag is perfekt.
Best wishes from Germany
Removing them is always an option. Thank you for stopping by. Be well & stay safe.
Great video man! Do you think this would make a good bag for college? Thats what I want it for. Thanks
+Alejandro Cabrera Absolutely. Not exactly how much you need to carry but I'm sure it'll work just fine. If you feel you may have lots to carry you may want to move up to the 24 instead.
did you end up using this pack for college?
Pls help me i choose rush 24 or rush 12
That depends on what you plan on doing with the pack and what you'll be carrying in it.
awesome great review Tim
+unclecow Thank you!
Would this be a good bag for school?
tsarsfield12 Absolutely! It would perform perfectly.
TheTacticalDefender could I use a rush 24 for school or a carry on bag on planes
Brilliant video
Thank you for watching!
I went ahead and bought a rush 24 in grey! Much thanks to your thorough review! Have a nice day!
Would a female be better off with this vs the Vanquest Ibex 20?
sablebush I honestly don't think there's much difference (for a female) in the two bags, they're both great with some different features but I don't feel one would be better than the other for a woman. My wife has worn both and even though the 20 has slightly more padding overall than the 12, she found both comfortable. The big difference between the two comes down to organizing your gear, the 12 has lots of pockets and pouches whereas the 20 has a few on the outside but it's mostly one big roomy pack on the inside.
thanks I have tried numerous packs and never can seem to get everything I want to carry in a pouch or packed away.
sablebush The truth is no pack is perfect nor will it have everything you like or need, you have to find that one pack that can come as close as possible.
I order mine in double tap color will be here tomorrow, Do you still use it for EDC? What is pro and con.
Yes it's still used. As a matter of fact it's sitting here next to me in my car. It's perfect, no cons. You'll be very pleased I'm sure.
Thanks. I was looking in the Rush 72 pack as for luggage bag for 4 to 5 days. Will it too big for carry on in the plane ?
Yes. I'm sure it will. It's a big pack!
What color is that? If it's green I can't fine that color on their website. TIA
It's Sandstone.
I've been looking at the new storm gray stuff it is beautiful
+Ryan Robinson I think when I get the 24 I'll buy it in that gray this time.
What size hydration bladder can it carry?
17” x 11” 1.5 liter hydration pocket. Thank you stopping by.
+TheTacticalDefender Thankyou for the quick reply! Nice channel keep up the good reviews.
+Will Sartin (5RWill) Thank you!
Two litre Osprey fit mine perfect!
Only thing is the lack of lap top sleeve
This is true but I don't EDC a laptop so it works for me. I've been using a couple Vanquest backpacks for EDC now and not only are they better for organization but they all have laptop sleeves or compartments. Thanks for stopping by. Very much appreciated.
The rush 72 has two side pockets perfect for large water containers, I’ll use those for water and pack the laptop in the hydration pocket, perfect for a 15” MacBook Pro
Does it fit a 17 inch laptop or at least a 15 inch laptop?
According to their website you shouldn't have a problem.
This video and review was good, exactly what I was looking for but it could be a bit shorter if you edited out the repetitive parts telling your viewers it's your edc bag and how many places you take it. Just a friendly suggestion. :) Have a good day!
Thanks for watching.
No offense, but you look like a low-budget guy fieri. Awesome videos!
Nice One Bro!
+The Lone Patriot 111 Thank you!
Nice video, Im a new subscriber, you present your material in an average guy kinda way... Turned on my notification bell for you...
Thank you! Much appreciated. 👍
Nice review! Got my lady MOAB10 for a get home bag really nice stuff!
+Tim Shull My wife is still a maxpedition fan, I'm trying to get her into the 5.11... Some day I guess.
What "situations" would you need an edc bag for?
Every day situations. AKA life.
i have type one diabetes
Sorry to hear it my friend.
The struggle is real.
Check lowcarbdownunder, some great info on managing type 1 diabetes. IHMC channel as well. Good luck sir. Do consult your doctor first.
The pack is too small for you....its like you putting on a jacket that is to small for you.... different sizes for different sizes......WTF!!
I'm sorry you're too hung up on how things look as apposed to is it serving a purpose. It's an EDC pack... not a fashion show. Thanks for stopping by.
Sux plus minutes into the video ..still speech going on ...waste of time...
I'm sure it was. Thanks for stopping by nonetheless.
hey, nice vid man, you dropped 25 pounds, even better
Very repetitive.
Maybe not for you
