Happy to see there are still gems out there to be discovered!
Only a few short years ago, $6.5M was payed for a Nautilus that was one of 170. This is one of 10, and I don't think it will go for $6.5M

Very rare and spectacular beast. This will fetch a pretty penny.

I want to add to my comment, you mentioned the dial is white ceramic; I am very sure that after all this time, especially with older technology, the ceramic has a warmer coloration. If we were to see a reissue of that watch, I am sure it would be done with like an ivory dial to make it warmer and in my opinion, it will never look as good. What I am trying to say is that today's collectors should see a watch and project into the future, it is about tomorrow, not today. If I saw a white version, I know that in 50 years it will be better and for that reason, I will buy it today. Collectors need to be more thoughtful, this is a very long term hobby.

Am I the only one to think that Aurel Bacs has something of Robert de Niro at the beginning of this video ?

I certainly think when speaking English, his accent has become more Americanised.

It really looks like a 1970s Casio

I do not like the nautilus and I know it is certainly personal. However, with a lighter dial such as opaline or creme, it opens up the dial and allows the hard ware to contrast against the dial, especially in pink gold.
It becomes more dressy than sporty, kind of like a Cartier's take on a integrated sports watch. There should be a new release with this sort of combination.

I agree completely. A dressier looking Nautilus can only be a good thing. I also like the more uniform tones to both the dial and the date window. It would be even better/dressier without the date complication. That would be a serene watch indeed.

A view from the Uk. Now this my be seen as heresy but the 'look' of this watch has all the hallmarks of a Timex. Sorry, but i am not seduced by the words 'Patek Philippe' and immediately metaphorically drop my knickers. I like to 'want' the subject before i do that and this watch I DO NOT WANT, it's boring, gold or no gold. The 'Jewellery aspect of a watch is what people want - how it looks on their wrist. That's why Rolex are the most popular faked watch to shoot down the arm. I'd love to ask the buyer their reason for buying it.

Have you ever worn a nautilus ? No other metal band wears as comfortable as a nautilus

Funnily enough NO! Have you spent at least $50,000 for the privilege. Is that the reason you buy a watch? You go to the shop, put a shop window dummy on your wrist and fall in love with the watchstrap. Yup, that's the way to spend $50k upwards for a watch. Note to myself: Rob, you've got it so wrong.

Why do you get so worked up over my spending ? What do you care? I certainly don't care how you chose the spend your money. You know why I buy those watches? Because I FUCKING can! And because it's an appreciating asset! I rather put 50K in appreciating asset than 500 in a depreciating asset! That's how the wealthy build more wealth.

Patek is just a different game and vintage Patek is the peak of it. Not really for the Omega with tricked out gems crowd who usually post on TH-cam
