Hi all 👋 The Digital Nomad Visa in Spain is still pretty new and relatively "unused". The information is this video is based on the information available at the time, and I have tried to not go into specific numbers etc at this is very likely to change.
Hope it answers your questions - you are very welcome to leave a comment and I'm sure the community will help :)
So many digital nomad visas popping up around the world.. Hoping they will compete over better conditions and simplification.
Sounds great , thank you for this video.... be more active about spain and Malaga 😊
I will do my best to make more frequent videos 😃
Thank you so much for worthy information... A bundle of love and blessings from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Good video thanks 😊
As of yesterday US w2 employees are no longer eligible. The government is requiring a certificate of social security which is ONLY for companies transferring employees to a branch in Spain or an EOR which would then make the employer a Spanish entity. The DNV would then no longer be a valid visa option and the employee would need a Spanish work visa instead. The only way to apply would be to 1099 self employed worker who pays into the Spanish SS system.
Do you have a link for this? I've seen sooooo much conflicting information on this. Everywhere seems to contradict each other. I contacted the local consulate in Manchester but they weren't very helpful.... they just said they we're processing applications yet and couldn't tell me if I could apply if I travelled to Spain.
I was hoping to go in Sept but at this rate will likely seek out an alternative destination that is a bit clearer on the process.
Yes, if you have a link that would be awesome.
As these are still the early days of the visa it is very likely that a "common practice" is yet to come.
I'm sure this visa will become super popular
Absolutely. If they actually grant people the VISA that is.
I will arrive in Spain in 10 days. May I apply for this Visa while I'm in Spain and are they already taking applications or is this all just theoretical?
I'd suggest reaching out to a relocation expert. I believe they have already granted some DN visas here in Spain. Perhaps ask @decipher_spain (a relocation expert, that is her Insta).
I am a dual citizen US/Mexican. after 2 years in Spain on digital nomad visa, I would be eligible for Spanish citizenship right?
Hi there, I believe it's after 5 years you can apply for the citizenship. After the first two years on the DNV, you should be able to apply for a 3 year residency permit. Following that you can apply for citizenship (please note that I am not a lawyer and that these conditions could change).
A medical certificate is not required.
Yes, thankfully they decided to remove that requirement.
Questions:
1. How many times can you renew your digital nomad visa in Spain?
2. Can you get permanent residency if you stay in Spain for 5 years on a digital nomad visa? Or would those 5 years not count due to the nature of the visa?
"With a digital nomad visa, you can stay up to one year. After that, you can apply for a three-year residence permit and renew it for two years. Finally, after spending five years in the country, you can apply for permanent residence."
However, since this is still a relatively new visa, be prepared that they might change the conditions.

Another video I just watched said it was valid for 3 years...? a little confused..
If you apply for the visa while already in Spain they can issue a 3 year permit.
However, if you apply from your country of origin it will require renewal after two years.
I am thinking that these are the types of details that might change along the way, as this is indeed very confusing for applicants.

The sculptor can apply for this visa?
Since I suppose it's not online work I'm not sure if it would qualify.
@@FriiInfo this is just for online jobs?
Is this for all passport holders?
As far as I can see yes (although only non-EU)
