Glad you're back. I like the cons you did (especially the mention of aesthetics), but since Google is coming, shouldn't it jumpstart the economy there? When Google launched in NY (they took a building that covered an entire block), the tech scene became so vibrant and more tech companies followed suit.
@@denniszenanywhere good point! We can hope that Google can attract even more tech giants. Although, until now Malaga has been a popular place for major corporations to set up shop due to the low wages in a Western European context. Hopefully, companies will come more so for the skills rather than the (low) wages. Oh well, let's see.
@@FriiInfo Btw, the ugly side of tech giants coming there could bring about the ugly culture of firings and layoffs in the US. Last night, everyone here in the US was talking about the suspicious firing of the Open AI CEO and a few hours later, its president. I don't know if layoffs there are rampant or inhumane like the US.
Lots of pro and con videos out there for Torremolinos, but this was the most watchable. Honest, concise, and informative. Love the 5 minute length and subscribed because of this video. Thanks.
Generally speaking east of Malaga is more affordable and slightly less mass touristic. However, west of Malaga is better connected in terms of public transport and has the airport closer.
It is the perfect holiday destination, I like it more and more each time I visit, I would definitely consider moving there. Great in the winter too, I love the quiet and warm atmosphere😊
If you could start again would you choose a different location to live? Which Costa Del Sol towns do you think are superior in terms of aesthetics whilst still having easy access to Malaga?
What an interesting question! Well actually, I don't think there are any beach towns that are "prettier" while still being close to Malaga. I really like the bay in La Herradura, but that is super far from Malaga. I live in the part of Torremolinos that's called Playamar, which is just pretty neutral and residential, with the beach nearby. This, to me, is a good compromise.
I am from the U.S. and recently moved to Valencia. Love the big city vibe and the myriad of things to do (including tons of meetup groups and theatres and art museums). Looking for a place less expensive but isn't too boring. And a place where there are people who speak English (haven't mastered spanish yet). Do you think Torremolinos would be a place for me?
Hey there 👋🏼 of you like the "big city vibe" I think you may find that Torremolinos is a bit too small. It has more of a relaxed beach vibe slash town vibe. Maybe Malaga?
Love your videos. Please keep doing the great job!!! And yes, torremolinos is old and ugly because it became very famous in the 60's and 70's and still remains on that aesthetic Viva ninaaaaaa 🇪🇸🇪🇸💋💋
Hey there! Thank you for the suggestion - I might actually make that the next video. Ps I did make a video about Malaga / costa del sol in general, but not one about Malaga city. It's on the to-do list 🎥
Trying to decide to live here or Malaga or Benalmadena 🤔Thank u for this video! I needed to hear this.. that it is LGBTQ friendly! Great to know🙌🏾💃🏾🤸🏾♀️
This is true of many many beaches around the world. People don't usually give a lot of thought to it. I suspect the beaches along Torremolinos are natural, but would be very different as a tourist attraction if sand weren't added every year, and if a large quantity hadn't been added at some point, maybe the 1960s. Even if a beach has wonderful sand, it may have come from a quarry two miles away. I'm hard pressed to think of a beach that gets huge numbers of visitors that doesn't add sand, and doesn't use machines to arrange the sand. They were doing that in Shirahama, Japan in April when we were there, preparing for the tourist season. It is famous for white sand, but that doesn't mean additional white sand isn't trucked in.
Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola all have their different flairs. I like Benalmádena the most. There are parts of Mijas Costa that are beautiful too.
Question: what do you guys think about the beach in Torremolinos?

The beach in Torremolinos is (imo) significantly nicer than the beach in El Palo.

Thank you so much - glad you like it. It is comments like these that make me want to continue making videos 🤗
Thank you for this video. I am going on my own (first time travelling alone) on the 14th, this was helpful.
Glad to hear that. Hope you'll have an amazing time ✨ 🇪🇸
@@FriiInfo thank you, I'm excited,..but nervous haha
Thanks. Not sure if I would go west (Torremolinos) of Malaga or east (Rincon de la Victoria)?

Nerja is also nice, but still an hours drive with no train option. Estepona and Marbella same issue.@@FriiInfo

@@FriiInfo Definitely will. Thank you!
What did you mean by the beach not being natural? i love that Torremolinos is popular with the LGBT community.
Yup, I love that too 🌈
So the beach is not natural in the sense that the sand has been "added".

Fuengirola is nicer..plus all on flat ground 😊
To each their own 🙂

@grl9917 that's a good way of looking at it 👌
its a shame that the costa del sol is so ugly, in Torremolinos there are places that look third world like.
Fortunately they have started to renovate some central areas. Let's hope it continues 🤞🏼
There are no pros for torremolinos, the place is a total dump
Don't be like Andrew, 😅
