But in sweden these cars are so cheap, if the engine breaks, its cheaper to just buy another car and put that ones engine in instead of fixing the old one a 500$ car is cheaper than a 1000$ repair bill

If shit cannot be batter than a shit.. buy new second not mean all new.. if rebuild confrom make it like new..
If you buy old, it can have similar issues. When you fix your own and make it correct, it will run forever :-) with no issues for next decades.
