Thanks Tim, that brought back some nice memories of Tenerife. I went up Mt Teide in 2001 - such a barren landscape. I love cable cars but my friend had a funny turn from the altitude!
Again more memories, first holiday with my partner 13 years ago we ventured up there, was quite early in the morning but its so peaceful at the top. Your right about the oxygen thing though, I was quite fit at the time and I was out of breath, more of Tenerife please, making me want to book a holiday 😁👍🏻
Hi Tim. This one really interesting. I would love to go there. See the volcano and the landscape as well as the history. A big thankyou for showing this one and for taking you breath away walking up so high and I don't just mean the amazing views.
Bin there done that would very much like to do it again absolutely breathtaking the views are wonderful i believe it maybe la Gomera glad you enjoyed it
Just in from our train ride to Yarmouth Brill day. Catching up on this fabulous video, those views are spectacular and the ice looks lovely, great info Tim thanks,Happy Easter to you Gaby and family, 🐰🐣🤗
I visited there a couple of times (once in 1998, once in 2006), and got to the top of Teide. I loved it. Good friend, Tenerifian, owns an amazing/fascinating banana plantation down on the SW-coast, and the backdrop to it is this beautiful snow-capped volcanic beast. Awesome views !!
Thanks Tim, another amazing vidio ,not sure had go up there ,but fantastic views ,a went on a cable car in banth , Canada ,was long way up ,cheers Tim 👍
Brilliant Tim ,that's on my bucket list . Only been to Tenerife about 30 times and still never been up Teide .😁😁👍👍definitely going up next time I go ,weather permitting .
Visited Tenerife in the mid-nineties, Tim. I vaguely remember a small desert and the barren landscape around Mt Teide. The beaches were truly amazing too. 👌👍
That looks epic - you are definitely selling Tenerife to me! :) Love a cable car ride - I’ve been lucky enough to visit Switzerland a few times so very used to them
Greetings from Tenerife. I am from the island. And I can tell you that you have made a great video. Just a few details: 1) Teide is the 3rd highest volcano in the world measured from the oceanic base. 2) The rupture that you comment on from 1909 is not from a Teide vent. It is an independent volcano like so many on the Island. 3) The part that you talk about a possible tsunami, the theories are not of an eruption on the island of Tenerife, but on the island of La Palma.
Hi Tim, we visit Tenerife once a year and also mount Teide. I just wanted you to let you know that you don't have to pay extra for the permission. The problem is they only give a few permissions for each day and so they are booked out for weeks and months. You can get the permission for free on the Website from the goverment but as I said you should book it as soon as possible. Thanks for your beautiful Video and the Vibe you bring back to my Livingroom.
I hiked Teide in the first days of July last year and I couldn't recommend it more. The best experience of my life. Being on the top of the volcano, on my own. Amazing experience. You need a permit to access the peak, but the guards checking permits go down with the last cable car, so if don't mind going few hours down to the car park it can be done. They were suppose to go down at 5pm, and yet I had to wait till 6:30pm, but it was definitely worth it. I couldn't belive the view. Had a little can of beer that I dragged all the way up. Priceless :D I also recommend hiking the Pico Viejo. It's the second largest peak on Tenerife. It's this huge crater you can see from the viewpoint. Very demanding hike to be honest. Much tougher than hiking to the cable from the other side via Montana Blanca, mainly because of the loos volcanic sand. Very hard to go up with this surface. But the view of the crater is worth it. Unbelievable.
I climbed the Pike twice. Without permission in the night/Sunset. And Second time with permission at midday. At Sunset its incredible! To See the giant perfect Triangle teide Shadow. Starting at 3am from The parking space you are at around 6:30 at the summit. When you are slow start at 2am. And enjoy the Stars at the night hike!
Left a like Tim I am in Tenerife at the moment and I am not far from there but I am writing this on me day that I be flying back to Ireland looks amazing Tim hopefully I'll see it if I ever come here again

Great walk Tim. That poor guide up there for 8 hours😳I hope he’s paid well! We went there in Oct 19 though just saw it from the first stage on a coach trip. Beautiful place. coffee & cookie 👍
Looks amazing. Brilliant video and well detailed. Can I ask what month did you go Tenerife? We are visiting next month and keen to know how the weather looks like.
I loved watching this video brought back many memories of ascending the Pico with my father in 79 and again with my children in 01. Might be worth adding that the permit to climb further to the peak is free and bookable on-line and that mobility impaired people are no longer allowed to go up in the cable car. Apparently it's because they can't get us down in the event of an emergency.
@@WalkWithMeTim the permit is free, but you need to book in advance (about 2-3 months) which makes it difficult to match up with the cable car due to weather conditions. There is no way you can be certain how it is going to be and you can only cross your fingers to have good weather
Would love to experience the cable car but not a fan of being squished in like sardines. Its like the bus you catch to the terminal when you planes too far away from a jet bridge/main terminal... Where you try to get on the bus first for a seat lol... exactly like the cable car.
Another interesting and good video, when visiting the island last June, Mount Teide was a place we all visited both in the day aswell at night, but not in the cable car. But staying on lower part section, is 100% an errie experience, but something worth seeing while visiting the island. If visit again, somewhere would love to revisit and experience again, maybe via cable car? By the way, if that did erupt, with the guards there, how long would you have to get down & evacuate everyone from that place aswell whole island via planes etc? Always wondered the question, because they reckon this would if erupted again take out and destroy the whole of the canary islands? With the Tsunami? If your on the island and don't evacuate, you will die, as explosion will kill you. So yeah with that in thought, if evacuations were needed, how long would it take you reckon to evacuate the whole island? Hoping it never erupts in my lifetime or ever, but just interested just incase? But apart from this, nice views from the top, I think La Guardia was island opposite? But not sure for defo, but nice island and destination Tenerife, 100% recommend anyone to visit. Cheers. 😀👍
Brilliant to see this Tim! My ex wife at the time had Asthma which meant I didn't want to visit on my own! The best part is the plane journey out and you can still see Teide for about an hour out!
Mate why not mention that you can smell the sulphur as you get to the top and you can do a walk around the side and see some of the vents. I did this a couple of years ago and struggled with hypoxia as the height means you can struggle due to the lack of oxygen.
