- I love to save money when I can. In this video, I show how you can save a lot of money by buying prime rib roasts when they are on sale, slicing them into steaks, and then vacuum sealing them.
This is exactly the way to go. One makes the decision on how thick, and it is actually got that fresh factor compared to a packaged ribeye steak. Nice one!
Thank you Paulie! I totally agree!
Love when this goes on sale. Usually find this at Frys here in Az 💪💪💪
Frys is good. AJ's is better.
Nice vid Googan ,all kinds of meals loving that double seal method TY
Thanks esleepee! Happy Holidays!
Awesome stuff AJ! Definitely got yourself a bargain. And those sealers are definitely a great investment 👌. Cheers brother 🍻
Thank you sir! Happy Holidays!
Awesome video. Thanks. Prime rib is on sale this weekend in my area. I’m going to cut it into steaks since it’s only my husband and me. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Happy holidays and enjoy those steaks!
Those steaks look bad ass, I wish we had a Publix meat department.. awesome video Aj!
Thanks Randy! You have HEB so I don’t feel so bad 😂
Kroger has this deal going on now too. It's a great deal. I bought a large one and got 7 good-thickness steaks, plus a rack of4 beefy ribs for about $70. Went back and got another 6.5 pounder I'll keep whole and cook for 4 people on NY eve.
Heck yeah! Glad you found a similar deal at Kroger! Enjoy the holidays and enjoy those steaks! 👊
I picked up 2 on 12/14/24 at $5.77/lb and another one on 12/21 for $4.99/lb. Cut the first 2 into steaks and the last one I'm cooking today for Christmas dinner.
What a score! Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
@googanbbq : Started making stock for au jus at 1:30 am. The roast is sitting out to get close to room temperature and will go into the oven in an hour, 11 am my time.
Merry Christmas🎄
Make sure you date the packages! Love this video! 🥩❤️
So I just picked up a 7.5 prime rib roast. If I cut them into steaks are they actually considered to be ribeye steaks? The internet isn’t really helping me get an answer
Yes sir, they would be considered ribeye steaks. Enjoy!
@ thank you brother!!!
Absolutely! You can save a ton of money learning how to butcher bulk cuts of meat.
Let's hope non of Publix or Costco Managers are watching this lol 😂😂 cause they'll jack up the prices next year 😂😂. Happy Hols to you and your family bro.
Cheers!🍻🤜🤛
Thanks Stephen! I really hope the grocery managers don’t catch on 😂 Happy Holidays!
Steak party at your crib!
Heck yeah, any time you’re in Georgia, come on!
I do this at the end of every year! Steaks will last 2....maybe 3 years under vacuum seal in the freezer. Rotate your meat, and try not go over 2 years. At the 4-5 year mark, the meat will not be a little funky.
Dude those look amazing, but we don't have that store around here.
You guys have HEB, which I’m jealous of. Happy Holidays!
@@googanbbq yep, but HEB is kinda pricey for me
How many lbs did you pick up
Probably 10-15lbs
Oh dear, for years I had the "Orphans' Christmas" and made my father pay for a wonkin' big prime (choice) roast. Anyway, since to my fam meat is best cooked on the bone, would putting 1 or 2 ribs on top or bottom be okay? Would it even matter? Tx.
For when I do prime rib, I like to keep the bones on. Some say it enhances the flavor but I do it for presentation. Good luck and thank you for the comment!
Another tip the Publix butcher will cut into steaks for you
Hey, that is a nice tip! Thank you!!
It went up a dollar! 😒 12/2024…. 7.99 a pound at Publix
Where I live in Georgia, it’s still $6.99lb this Christmas season.
Can you see this
Yes
Nah, when i buy prime rib...i want prine rib...not steaks.
Where i live, the cost of a nice steak is as much per lb as the roast itself.
To each his own, but we prefer the cook/taste of the roast over individual steaks...js
Wish I could get $6.99lb ribeye steaks year round. I love a good prime rib roast and a ribeye steak. Enjoy!
@googanbbq for real!! It is normally $11/lb here. Outrageous
