@@AP-fc6mb Soft top version has two, convertible and fixed. Hard top is fixed only.
Watched the other reviews but this one answers all the questions from an experienced off-roader's perspective. Plus some practical Mahindra ownership advice.

Instead of admiring the new Thar 2020, I was also thinking about how overdrive can give such a pathetic review. Seems like this guy isn't interested at all.
For quality click on Autocar or Zigwheels. Autocar can be biased sometimes to Indian auto giants.

I like the fact @overdrive gives a very descriptive information of vehicle ,I saw so many videos on TH-cam, this is the only video which showed which manufacturer the automatic transmission was from , and the suspension system !! and rear seat interiors where nobody showed the sides , and also the long drive opinion !!! Thank you very much :)

1. REAR DISK BRAKES.
2. JEEP LIKE DOOR HANDLES.
3. PROJECTOR HEADLAMPS.
4. PUSH START/STOP BUTTON.

Anand Raj C.J it’s removable but not without tools , the soft top however is held by clamps which folds down manually

Overdrive team just a quick question ,since you were driving in rain was there any water leakage inside from any of joints as it use to leak in old Thar.
Many people made it a point to say no leakage despite pouring rain.
Bertrand my friend, in the same video you say the hard top can be taken off and then also say it can't. You also say there are only two roof options, but there are three on offer. Please get these facts right before making the video

@@proxieddomain It is a win win. They get the latest vehicles showcased on their channel. More views. Kaching. Car manufacturers get free promotion as none of these guys really say anything bad about the car. If they do the manufacturer won't let them access the future cars. Simple. The big shot influencers call out on the few negatives here and there as it is the definition of an 'honest' review. They always sum it up with a great car verdict though. This is the evolution of advertising and it is here to stay.
So if someone calls this guy out then it means the flaw is showing and since it is his bread and butter, he should be more thorough. Take the critique positively and work on it. That would get him more credibility, followers and views eventually. He found lots of space in this car where none other did. Pointed to the hard top and said it can be taken off when others say it can't. Mahindra should have provided them accurate and comprehensive information so all the communication going out would be seamless. But almost all of them are saying the same stuff. The real deal shows in the comments where people call it as they see it.
You have a right to your opinion though as well as your sarcasm and it is all welcome but if you are truly surprised then this is the long and short of it.

This is just stunning!! Petrol n Diesel Automatic options will make this SUV sell like hot cakes!! Interesting to see two gear levers and the intelligent rear door n glass window! I m sure it will be within 15L range! If it's priced well,
I would definitely buy one day to experience all the fun n the presence it has !!

Finally Indian company is thinking international level.
1. It's the hard top version, roof can be taken off on soft top version.
2. Engine is placed longitudinaly , in other cars it's transversly put.
Also I was hoping you'd tell how it feels to drive . Almost everyone knows the specs by now.

Very typical problem with the older ones.
The best looking car on Indian roads by an Indian manufacturer till date. This car does put a smile on my face every time, matter of fact very few cars can do that.

EXTREMELY BUYABLE. Better than expected. Eagerly waiting for the price reveal and bookings to begin. The AT Petrol LX version is really the one to buy I think. Convertible top. Ah!. Small stuff they should consider - 4 Disc brakes would be good. Plus a rear wiper for that large straight block of a rear slab.
Where is the convertible soft top....you did not show that one
I completely agree with you sir and I appreciate the way you pointed out about the rear wheel well space. Rear seating area could have been better, that fabric looks cheap.

Yup with regular controls. LX has electronic controls though it is still an HVAC.

Boss you said all wrong about locking hub, locking differential and brake locking differential...which axel has locking diff? Not clear
Mechanical locking differential is at rear wheels and brake locking differential is available in all four wheels. BLD is comes with ESP

We have always used Mahindra vehicles from the CJ4 series which i still have... the DI, MM550 and the Thar DI and CRDE.... i am eager to try the petrol version this time....👍

All that is legally banned on-road. There is no clear government guideline about roof racks as well. Could result in a fine to say the least in some states.
This has come as a total surprise to me where it’s illegal to have a carrier on the roof in some states. How would I know in which states such is illegal?

I love the product but space management in the back could have been much better. Also the plastics used in the dashboard looks very cheap at least in the video. Thumps up to Mahindra.

Still do we have to switch off the thar and go out and fill the fuel. Why the dont provide a remote fuel lid opener. Strange
Anyone can open the fuel lid if its in a soft top version. So its lockable

Yes. Anyone can access the engine bay. That's how it is in the old Thar. I own one.
Lockable engine bay access is a good idea yes. Maybe someone can try fitting a mechanical lock to the hood release lever mechanism aftermarket. Needs to be explored.
Expected some off road test in review.
One of the most anticipated product by Mahindra however very out of thought and out of words kind of review. The speaker looks underprepared and has lot of good ups, very substandard for overdrive

Why does nobody seemed bothered about the absence of a center arm rest? If you expect me to use this vehicle as an everyday commuter apart from off roading; I would certainly expect a center arm rest. I don't think it's too big of an ask.
A lighter diesel 4 x 2 hard top for the Philippine market in automatic with sports mode please !
