Great understanding of how these enhines run. 4 strokes always stumped me. I can make a 2 stroke run easily but I have to rely on others to help me on 4 strokes.
Having a similar problem with my 2000 Sportsman 500. Starts and runs but mid range is not there at 4500 feet when I go to 8000 feet the problem is worse. I’ve owned it since it was new with a 150 main jet. Any ideas? I’ll check those vents that run to the air box. Thanks for the tips!!

I would try a bigger jet.
