The wheel looks great with the mods, great job. Fanatec, if you are watching, what about making the same mclaren wheel but more premium feeling, so that people can choose the one they want, without the need for moding and drilling holes in it. It's an awesome wheel that deserves it.
For 199 $$ it is the best wheel for the price. Alot of ppl with money think everyone is rich, but they are mostly younger ppl not understanding the value of money and being on a budget. Great wheel tho again for the price

Thrustmaster T150 Pro nothing much but I can't hold my excitement :) I know it's not that good but for now it's the only one I could afford and only way I can experience cool cars. Awesome idea and video Steliyan! Before getting an Ascher button plate and MOMO wheel for my simucube, I considered doing what you did. I chose a fanatec wheel with the conversion kit but it ended up being roughly the same price. Despite having a few less buttons but having the quality of a wireless ascher button plate and real MOMO steering rim I have never regretted my choice. The build quality and feel I should imagine is on a different level to the Fanatec offering.
Oh , you definitely made the right choice and the quality of Asher is absolutely awesome! This here is mostly for those who already have those wheels and move to other ecosystem 😃
So, Bro, as i really respect your videos and asked of your advice if should go from fanatec V2.5 to SC2 pro, you told that i will have big difference, man it is really big difference from V2.5 especially when i putted Raceroom with Honda civic TCR! Smile on my face was all around. I have the same rim, along with the SRM usb conversion & the Lambo Huracan decal. I love this rim. It’s the perfect overall diameter for me. I just wish the grip circumference was slightly larger.
I love the shape of this wheel too (upgrading is waaaayyyy beyond my capabilities!) I am definitely looking at getting some skins off Lovely Stickers. The only other wheel I love the look of is the Audi R8 GT3 wheel that you reviewed. But I would need Fanatec to produce one for my CSL DD and not require me to sell a kidney to be able to afford it!

The only concern I have before buying the fanatec mclaren gt3 wheel is about the original shifter. People are saying that it's heavy in a weird way, and doesn't have the "magnetic" feel. Is this true? Or is it something that can be easily ignored when driving?
Hmm, that is kind of true ! They are heavy and the way they move ones you press from one side in , the other side move out ! Honestly I haven’t used those a lot and I’m sure we are very adaptive creatures and with the time will probably get used to it ! They are definitely better then V1 and have positive klick! I have heard some complaints about the shifter buttons but again I can’t comment on that as I haven’t used them extensively! It will be good if you can find some friend with that wheel and test it before or just risk it and if you don’t like it you can easily sale it with minimal loss !
You should be more concerned by the durability of the shifters. One of them shifts 2 gears instead of one or doesn’t shift anymore after 500 hours of use on my wheel. It’s a problem that is pretty well known for this wheel and Fanatec accepts you to return the wheel if still under warranty. I gave mine to a friend and bought a new one directly to simracingmachines with the upgraded magnetic shifters like the ones that are in this video.
Well you get what you pay for and as a owner with all other wheel being upgraded shifter wise it's not that bad and being able to shift up and down with one hand on either side is something I love. That makes up for the lack of tactile feel.
shifters suck. plain and simple. plus, buttons rattle like a rattle snake on curbs and when wheel vibrates a lot. other then that great wheel haha I saw somewhere, there ar eshifters to upgrade that doesnt require cutting/drilling, not sheap though too, about 100$
I just received mine yesterday and they’ve done something with the buttons. They are quiet as a church mouse. SimMakers shifter kit is ordered. Lovely Stickers front and top stickers too. It’s an expensive wheel all in including mods, but it feels so dang good I just don’t care. For me it’s about the enjoyment of the game…and this wheel puts a smile on my face by making the experience better. Love it!

It depends on how deep you are in a hobby, and how far you see (as in cost of parts). If you love watches you know there are watches that (you love) cost like $100000, after that a couple hundred dollar watch will seem cheap to you even if you can't afford it.
You will need the Fanatec podium Hub or the Simracing machine emulator! This will make your base working on its own and the wheels are just usb connected to the PC! That’s all buddy!

Hi buddy 🤛 Your base is an awesome and going to CSL DD will not make huge difference to your personal experience! I would suggest to be patient and save for bit longer but take at least 20nm DD wheel ! I would suggest VRS DD as the cheapest 20nm option and SC2 as the best option on the market for that 1500$ price ! Fanatec DD1 and 2 are good bases too but for that price me and many other thing SC2 is better option! @@gothicvampire0911 I use the The P2000 the last mont and working on presentation of those pedals and coming from the Heusinkveld Pro I prefer the P2000 much more but again, those are hydraulic and have more chances to fail even if I believe they will keep for years ! The Heusinkveld are in mortal I think from longevity point of view! I’m just little cautious to fully suggest hydraulic pedals even if they feel better and I will stay with the the P2000

Your videos are great, I'm waiting to recieve my Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase after I played for 3 years with a Logitech G29. I also upgraded to the Inverted V3 pedals. Really curious to see how big the difference will be with the new DD wheelbase. I can use the Fanatec pedals with the G29 until I recieve the wheelbase, the pedals already made a huge difference, the G29 pedals feel like a childs toy after the fanatec, I have to get used to them but alreary see the potential.
Oh , the difference is huge, completely different experience buddy! A friend of mine who changed from G29 to CSL DD became faster as well 😁 you will love it buddy!

For 200$ it's an amazing wheel. You have to be realistic of what your getting for this price. If it only lasts 500 hrs then you put it up on the wall it's well worth it in my opinion. Quality Sim gear is usually much more expensive and takes that extra bit of commitment if you have it.

I already own a Formula V2 and going to the Mclaren wheel has always tempted me due to diameter and gt3 looks, but it feels like a step down in quality. However looking at proper GT3 (look-alike) wheels such as the Audi/Lambo GT3 wheels instantly moves to a ~1000 EUR pricepoint. Are there (good) wheels between the converted 500 McLaren wheel and the semi-highend 1000 EUR wheels worth looking at?
Absolutely agree with you! Those changes wort only if you already have the wheel and you really want to keep it ! For the overall price there are much much better choices !

Your base is an awesome and going to CSL DD will not make huge difference to your personal experience!
I would suggest to be patient and save for bit longer but take at least 20nm DD wheel !
I would suggest VRS DD as the cheapest 20nm option and SC2 as the best option on the market for that 1500$ price !
Fanatec DD1 and 2 are good bases too but for that price me and many other thing SC2 is better option!

@@gothicvampire0911 I use the The P2000 the last mont and working on presentation of those pedals and coming from the Heusinkveld Pro I prefer the P2000 much more but again, those are hydraulic and have more chances to fail even if I believe they will keep for years ! The Heusinkveld are in mortal I think from longevity point of view! I’m just little cautious to fully suggest hydraulic pedals even if they feel better and I will stay with the the P2000
@@chepilevski Hmm I may wait for your review because I don't see many other and if you left the pros for the p2000 that says alot since the pros are better than the sprints I assume🤔 but both companies do offer a 2yr warranty so I the p2000 fail atleast it will be covered, agreed? Your videos are great, I'm waiting to recieve my Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase after I played for 3 years with a Logitech G29. I also upgraded to the Inverted V3 pedals. Really curious to see how big the difference will be with the new DD wheelbase. I can use the Fanatec pedals with the G29 until I recieve the wheelbase, the pedals already made a huge difference, the G29 pedals feel like a childs toy after the fanatec, I have to get used to them but alreary see the potential.
Oh , the difference is huge, completely different experience buddy! A friend of mine who changed from G29 to CSL DD became faster as well 😁 you will love it buddy!

Ah nooo ! The upgrade make it good but as I’ve said , I personally believe you can get much better wheel for the price after upgrade!
For 200$ it's an amazing wheel. You have to be realistic of what your getting for this price. If it only lasts 500 hrs then you put it up on the wall it's well worth it in my opinion. Quality Sim gear is usually much more expensive and takes that extra bit of commitment if you have it.

I already own a Formula V2 and going to the Mclaren wheel has always tempted me due to diameter and gt3 looks, but it feels like a step down in quality. However looking at proper GT3 (look-alike) wheels such as the Audi/Lambo GT3 wheels instantly moves to a ~1000 EUR pricepoint. Are there (good) wheels between the converted 500 McLaren wheel and the semi-highend 1000 EUR wheels worth looking at?
