Fanatec McLaren GT3 Magnetic Paddle Shifter Upgrade FACE-OFF!!!

I wanted to upgrade my Fanatec McLaren GT3 wheel with magnetic carbon fiber paddle shifters. After looking at what the aftermarket offered, I contacted both SimMakerz and Sim Racing Machines. (I cannot recommend these companies highly enough! They are fantastic to work with!) In this video I discuss the stock McClaren wheel, show each of the company’s shifter offerings in detail, install each set of shifters, drive with them, and then discuss my findings. While I was not paid to do this video, I was supplied shifters to help make it a reality. My opinions are my own and unbiased by any company.

Great video, I had the same dilemma choosing between them without the insight of testing both, I have also had products from both companies, and they have both provided a good efficient service, I went with the SimMakerz in the end, and I am happy with my choice, they are very good and on par with my cube control wheels, for me once I got a wheel with magnetic shifters it changed my world, and I have them on every wheel I own, Great video happy New Year from London.
Oh yeah I agree the McLaren wheel is by far the best wheel in its price range and second to none

Great video. My hand size is M (8 inches/20.3 cm). Do you think this wheel could be too big for my hands?

I’m certainly no expert, but I think you’d most likely be fine. The wheel itself isn’t too bulky to grip. Great wheel!

I've had the SImMakerZ on my gt3 wheel for about a year now and they are awesome. For long races the stock rocker paddles will wear you out reaching that far back, same issue with the SRM paddles. I would get cramping in my fingers. Having SMZ's closer to the front of the wheel reduce this effect. Also the textured ends of the rocker paddles will dig into your fingers without gloves on. I play with CopperFit gloves that do not have fingertips so I can still use my phone and keyboard etc.

I hope the cams don't fail because I bought the advanced cam module that they released recently and after a month of use I realized that they don't work correctly. I thought it was because of the software but in the end it is because the cams have some play and do not respond well.
I have already written to them twice, a month since the first time I wrote, and they do not respond. It seems that they completely ignore it once they have sold the product.
Next time I'll pay a little more and go straight to fanatec.
140 euros is not a joke for them to give you a defective product and not be responsible for more

The actual McLaren 650S GT3 has the rocker paddles on its wheel in the real race car. As does the McLaren 720s GT3.
