@6:29 You see that large black chip in the center of the board, when you plug in the hydra, there is a chip on it that will line up enough to place a thick piece of VHB (very high bond) tape and secure the hydra from vibrating loose when you are on bumpy roads.
The whisper mode on the Hydra tuner, either remove it or put it in the 1st position on your tuner. If you decide to go from stock (1st) to 25 hp tow (3rd) or something else, with whisper mode in the middle (2nd) as you are going down the road, the whisper mode will defuel or lower the fuel pressure to the injectors so fast it will cause the engine to shutdown due to the low fuel pressure. I know this from experience !!! So, I recommend put it in the 1st position or delete it. I haven't used it one or two times and still had to cut the truck off so they could hear me at a drive through at a resturant.
There is a slight pause of maybe 2 seconds before the hydra will apply the selected tune so if you are clicking through tunes, it wont apply any tunes until you stop clicking though, then the screen will flash and that's when the tune is applied.
Another great detailed video. Thank you. Question, do you use dielectric grease on sensor and other electrical connections such as the 42 connection? Don't think I would use it on the PCM J3 port since the Hydra instructions don't mention using it, but the PCM to the harness connection I would consider it. Don't remember seeing ANY videos where dielectric grease was used to reinstall connections on 7.3 or 6.0 Powerstrokes.
Factory Stock is 00 and No Start is 17, those are alread LOCKED in the tuner, you cannot change them. you can use 01 thru 16 for your own Tunes.... you CANNOT change 00 and 17... You can Enter the Family number in Tools, so it is retained Permanently. the Instructions tell you to put Tape over the leads from the PCM, PHP provides a very good video to explain that. Plus, you need to route the cavble away from your feet, UP to the left, and Zip Tie in Place.

Great info, Thanks!!
Great instructional video. I've seen these and you are the only one that showed the install and programming,
Glad it helped

Whisper Mode is a Joke, I still have to shut the 7.3L off, or the Fast Order people cannot hear me.
Yep, same here.
Yeah, that's what I've learned too. I can cycle through all the tunes, land on the one I want and a couple seconds later it'll activate that tune.
Thanks for the info!
Wow, that was a much larger before/after 0-60 difference than I thought it would be.
Yeah, it really woke it up. So much so that I just put one on my personal 7.3.
Mine comes in tomorrow cant wait to install it lol
The difference is crazy.

I don't
I did 100hp once, it went past 60 mph in 1/8 mile, and i got off of it fast, I will not use that tune.
Your commentary cracks me up!
Ha ha, thanks!

Gotcha!
Love your videos you're informative and entertaining to watch
Glad to hear it!
If you sell your truck and remove the board, will it revert back to stock? Im getting a better truck and want to take with me to new truck.
Yes, the tune goes with the chip.
Great video! Any idea what tune state the "0" position is for the 7.3 Powerstoke?
Evidently 0 is the factory tune with the Hydra bypassed.
@@ProjectTimeGarage Yup, I called them and that is a roger.
Is the box code shown anywhere else mine has some random tuner already
No, not that I'm aware of.
@@ProjectTimeGarage I found a video hydra has showing how the hydra can read it for you
@@ianc8165 Good to know. Thanks.
Tuning my 6.0 was less invasive lol
Yeah, my 6.0 is less invasive too
We're did you get the bed cover from?
Marketplace - cheap.
Where did you get those seat covers
From Covercraft. They are called Seat savers
Ain't got no Gas in it lol 🤣 😆 aka fuel 🤪
LOL
To buy and install this shop wants to charge me $1000. They said $1000 for 6 tunes and $1100 for 12.
aw HELL no! That's crazy expensive.
I run the 65dd all the time and love it
❤
Loving this tuner!
