This port was taken by a new dev a few months ago. The online was overhauled and runs beautiful now, and though it's not the most crowded game there's always people to play with in the lobbies, and you can play story mode or training mode while waiting for players. It's quite a great port. The game itself is amazing, all about footsies and fundamentals if you like that kinda of thing. If anyone wants to play in this game and age you can add me on Steam, I appear as Chambs.
Yeah I think what you meant was doing feint cancels, move breaks, rotor hell cancel, guard cancel off just defense and all the particularities of each character. Definitely technical, lots of skill
To reiterate what others have said, the KOF games are actually a spin-off series, that ended up getting more popularity and essentially replacing the likes of Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting as the mainstay series. The Fatal Fury games were always called Garou Densetsu in Japan. Garou Mark of the Wolves is the first game in the series to maintain its original Japanese title in the west. In fact, the later Dreamcast version in the west was actually titled "Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves". I'm no SNK fighting game expert, I've literally just started playing some of the games a few weeks ago for the first time.
This port is a piss of garbage no mission for learn combo and the balance terrible bad, even the emulated version for psp is the balance way better than the ps4 version.
I mean it's originally for the Dreamcast and whatnot, it's also a pretty old fighting game that spawned many others. So obviously some things will be off, it's a great game but it just takes some extra work compared to the newer games.
The port was rehauled by CodeMystics, the bugs and balance issues were fixed as well as the online, which runs almost perfectly now, with 3-4 frames of imput lag at most. The game's actually fairly active today, so if you got the game or want to play it, it's a pretty good time to jump in.

nice i've always wanted to try garou mark of the wolves, i could have had it on dreamcast years back but strangely never did.
The Majora's Mask sound effects are a nice touch.
This is a technical game and it's very difficult to perform the special moves
I disagree. A lot of the inputs are quarter circle movements which are simple to pull off.

There's still no missions to learn combos, but the training mode had some features added, and you can play it while waiting for players in the lobby.
