Once again I totally love this video GG. Thank you so much for sharing. Unfortunately my video panel interview is on Tuesday (it's Sunday afternoon already) and my sourcing recruiter has been MIA since she is located in Austin and is obviously going through a lot with the unfortunate current situation there. I have reached out to the global recruiting lead for the last one week keeping in mind the situation in Austin and have asked if he could put me in touch with someone else or if he could answer some questions I have, but he has only emailed me with some information in reply to just a few of my questions. I'm hoping I can crack the interview thanks to your extremely helpful videos and tips. I am so glad I came across your channel :)

You can ask your recruiter. They might say no, but it won't be held against you. Never once in in the many hundreds of interviews and de-briefs I've done, have I ever heard a recruiter complain a candidate asked if there was any chance they could advise them of the key LPs of the role. At lot of my candidates tell me they get the answer although many don't. It's absolutely worth trying.

Thanks again for sharing invaluable information! If each interviewer is focused on one leadership principle (LP) each, does it mean that all 3 questions are related to that specific LP and I need to have 3 examples for that? Or is one or more of the questions just a general question without LP attached? I have narrowed it down to 6-7 LP based on the job description and I may need 18-20 examples if 3 examples per LP. Hence the question.

    • @amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503

Interviewers will be assigned 2-3 LPs to test. Interviewers may throw in a couple of general questions for curiosity/warm up sake. All teams will seek to ensure you have the technical skills in early rounds, some also do so at final round. I advise to have a min of 2 per LP ready. Hope that helps.

Hi Mautez- Both are Deliver Results questions. The LP description of DR is a pretty clear one. I'd look to that for the answer as to what the interviewer is looking for. Amazon published them here www.amazon.jobs/en/principles.

    No this does not work!
I sent an email to recruiter with the same content she said in video and this is what recruiter replied:
    ----------------------
    Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to communicate to candidates which LPs they’ll be tested on.
My suggestion is to practice one or two examples for each.
    ----------------------
P.S.: I also had mentioned 6 LPs which I guessed from Job Description

I’m afraid it does work for other people. I know plenty of candidates who were given the key LPs by their recruiters. In my experience your odds are about 50/50.

Even in a particular job family the LPs a hiring manager is looking for in that exact role will differ. The make up, relationships, organisation will all drive requirements. If I recommend some, I'd be in large part guessing. I wouldn't take that risk with your career. If you follow the tips in the video, you should get better quality info than I can guess at. Good luck 🧙‍♀️

Amaz0n Interview Whizz thank you for your reply. I’m kind of bummed out because my recruiter said we will talk tomorrow Thursday and asked me for my availability and I replied with few different hours. This was Monday and I still did not get a confirmation from him for the call. It’s so weird.

hey GG, any hint, on overall process - anything that will help out? - Hey GG, thanks for your immense support, for this position, which LP should I focus on , how many questions, and is there any Aptitude test or is just leadership, see detail below: Position: Manager, Enterprise Support
LP : · Innovative thinking and bias for action balanced with a strong customer and quality focus

hi ccie security- well my whole channel is a hint on the overall process. Min 3 questions per interview. You need to ask your Recruiter if there is an aptitude test, it differs by team. I can't tell you which LP to focus on but the description you just wrote points clearly to 4 of them.

Hi David. Beyond the advice in this video, it is high risk for me to define universal LPs for a specific role. The same job in different teams/regions/countries may have different LP priorities for many reasons such as tenure of team, performance of unit etc. If you follow the advice of this video, the output will get you a more accurate answer that I could assume. 🧙‍♀️

Hi, thank you very much for your efforts, your videos are helpful.
I am scheduled for first phone interview in the role, Recruitment Manger, how would I contact my recruiter/interviewer, to guess the targeted leadership principles? I only have her name and a general contact email in case of any inquiry.

If it were me I'd email the general address and ask for the recruiter's email address as I have some further questions on the role and in that I have their name, I'd look them up on LinkedIn and reach out begging polite and explaining I had some further questions on the role.. Good luck 🧙‍♀️
