- Tag along as we revisit our 2023 Oregon Archery Elk tag! We had an idea for one quick video of our season last year. Mostly to do with the lack of footage due to poor weather conditions and technical difficulties. We got some good footage of elk, and some great bugles! Almost everyday we were in the elk and I had the opportunity to be full draw on three different bulls. Sadly none of my chances were taken. Even though I didn’t get to pull the trigger I was able to learn and adapt to how the elk were behaving. It gives me great hope for this upcoming season to be able to put a bull down!
Great video! I appreciate the good clean content. Hunting is not always killing!
Thank you! We do our best to get some clean content and get some good action. It’s always been about family and friends, in the good and the bad!
Have a good day!
Those cameras are legal in Oregon? Thought that would count as an electronic device.
@@mitchellgrace-qj4qn They legalized cameras on bows back in 2020. Anything that functions different than a camera would be illegal yes!
looks like Heppner I was there last year as well It was tuff headed to a different unit this fall
Heppner is a great spot! It’s been tough for a few years now. Logging and fires have done a fair amount of damage to the populations. Hope you have a great, and successful season!
Why do you shoot at the target when its on the ground? If want true shots elevate the target to replicate where the animals vitals would be.
To be honest we weren’t prepared to shoot as much as we did. I was very lucky and got married the day prior to our hunting trip. We had only brought the one target believing that would be enough for a quick shot to make sure the sights hadn’t moved. The second part is we had it low because my bow was very easily going through the target and a raised target could cause lost arrows.
Usually at our elk camp we just bring the target to make sure nothing got bumped. By the time we hit camp everything should be dialed
@@jesusnunez6096 That’s exactly what we do. With the elevation change for my father his bow was slightly off which is to be expected. But it’s mainly just to make sure the sights haven’t moved!
@@nwtrueshotExactly brotha, I stumbled acrossed your channel and you now have a new sub! Good luck this season and I’m looking forward to the PNW content.
