Wow Jason, what an amazing shot! That bull dropped so fast! I never seen an elk drop as fast as your bull did. Congrats on you harvest! I hope one day I can go on my 1st elk hunt. I am from California and I just got back from a week hunting turkey in Oregon. The trip was fun but very difficult almost all of the turkey we located were on private property and the ones that we found on public could not get them close enough for one reason or another. Thanks for sharing this awesome video!
It wasn't a spine shot. It was centered up perfect on the front shoulder blade. He definitely reacted like he was shot in the spine and is exactly why we ran up and shot him again.

Lucky I’m on the east coast otherwise I’d be nocking on your door to teach me how to bugle ..You are as good as Kirk but don’t tell him .. Lol ..Continued success in 2021. Show me a 350 . My best is 320 and I’m 86.. I think that I have climbed my last hill ..However ,,these whitetails here aren’t safe ..Nothing like a freezer full of meat 🥩..Thank you dear Lord

I totally agree! I am curious as you are . I just came back from a turkey hunt in Oregon with my shotgun. We didn’t kill anything, most turkey’s were on private property, but seeing all of the elk tracks, and one heard of elk makes me want to hunt elk so much now .
Hunted the Blues on yhe Washington side about 40 years ago. It was a rifle hunt and we went down 2 days before and glassed a bunch of nice bulls. Got set up an hour before daylight and when it was light enough to see elk every tree had a orange shirt next to it. It sounded like a war zone. I never fired a shot but slid back out and went back to camp and packed up and left. Never have been back.

Not the best way to start hunting but so far its a blast. didn't get one this year but it'll happen. Love this video and being able to see these amazing animals so close. Yeah I watched it back a bunch of times. Cant see the shot but the arrow was sticking out right behind the shoulder when he turned and the entry wound when he's down looks perfect. Never seen them stumble that fast and lay and expire like that from a boiler room hit. Each one is different I guess. Sweet tho. Great shot and great bull.

Orlando I deflected off a limb about a yard in front of the bull but the arrow still hit perfect in the top of the crease. I have no idea why he dropped the way he did.
Out of respect for the animal, you could have at least let it expire in peace before you went up to it high fiving and proud of yourselves. Great bull, be a little more respectful to the animals. Just my opinion.
Hunter Sexsmith not true. I don’t hate him. The rich are what keeps me employed. They are necessary and appreciated. I just hate hearing them complain when they have it so much better than others. Often times, wealthy people are wealthy because the aren’t afraid to bust their tails, or put their tails on the line for people like me to have a job.
I wasn't complaining, I was making a statement that the elk down on private were harder to hunt for me. I couldn't use any calling like I do up in the mountains on public (where I hunt 99% of the time). Instead we had to try and plan where the bulls were going and how to beat them there. I'm far from rich (that definition is up for interpretation) but I choose to take every extra dime I have and put it back into my hunting adventures. We did not pay for any access. We did however go knock on a few doors to ask for permission and were able to get it.

I hit mid shoulder. arrow went into the lungs about 6 inches. I have no idea why he reacted the way he did.

I wish it was a preserve. We hunted hard for three days before we ever had a shot opportunity.
