      What is worse is when OP explained in the comment section. She had jumped off the stairs (age 5) because she believed her cape would make her fly and she hurt a limb. Other commenters bluntly say if her mom wants to play that game then by her own logic, her mom killed OP's dad by refusing to pay for an ambulance. This story hurt to read especially with more context.

    • @Christian-Pickles
      @Christian-Pickles 3 ปีที่แล้ว +61

      That mother is the very definition of a Narcissist.
      Delusional, arrogant, prideful, grandiose, oblivious to her mistakes, falsely self-righteous, picks a family scapegoat to lie about, gaslighting the daughter severely, blame-shifting (like attempting to shift THE MOTHER causing the accident onto the innocent child), abuse against an innocent victim, emotional abuse, physical abuse, medical abuse, verbal abuse....
      Literally every form of abuse that exists (except sexual abuse) -the mother was abusing her daughter with.
      And the mother sounds so self-delusional about the accident that she’s denying reality.
      She shouldn’t have custody of ANY children, in such an unstable mindset.
      She clearly lives in a fantasy world she created and not the real world.
      To claim it’s a 5 year olds fault that they crashed a car they weren’t even driving...
      that’s so illogical.
      It’s obviously 0% the child’s fault.
      I cannot even fathom the wacky fake logic she might use to claim that it was the child’s fault.
      Like, even in crazy-land, a crazy person usually has a slight piece of reason for their crazy theory.
      This doesn’t even have a slice of logic or reasoning. She’s crazy even for crazy narcissism.
      What does the Narcissist mother tell herself was the role that supposedly was the 5 year olds fault here??? That the 5 years old wasn’t driving better??? That the 5 hear old didn’t grab the steering wheel from the father when they started crashing and steer for herself or something??? Like, where does she even form this mindset from???
      It’s obvious that the mother is delusional to the level altering her perception of reality and events. She lives in Imaginary Land. This is super dangerous.
      .....
      The poor disabled girl has clearly been the family scapegoat her whole life. And the poor girl has clearly been gaslight and psychologically bullied into believing the accident was somehow her fault. It breaks my heart.
      This girl will need years of therapy to recover from such thorough psychological torture. Her mother has her completely undermined her sense of ability to protect herself and have self love and say, “Hey that isn’t true! I’m innocent! You’re abusing me!”
      She’s so gaslighted, she actually thinks she deserves the mother’s abuse. Poor thing.
      The whole 9 yards.

    • @cetomedo
      @cetomedo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@Christian-Pickles I think the reasoning the mom managed to convince herself it's the child's fault, and the reason OP agrees, despite the inaccuracy stems from the reasoning that if the 5 year old didn't need to go to the hospital, the dad wouldn't have been driving, therefore incapable of getting in an accident. A 5 year old obviously wouldn't even be capable of considering anything they do might result in a really unlikely series of events they don't even know is possible, when they probably don't even know that EMT's exist and they've only gone to the hospital for a flu shot, as well as the fact that their weakness(because they're 5) would naturally lead them to think that a car cannot be destroyed, and probably wouldn't even wonder the question.
      The reason the mother believes that is very well outlined in your comment, but the OP believes it because of a self-guilt complex. She's been gaslighted, which hurts, but she can't even realize it's not even close to being her fault, when her mom, someone fully capable of complex thought and is aware of how the world works, didn't call an ambulance and sent a panicked man fearing for his 5 year old child's safety instead; because she's got a bias that leads to her trying to blame the crash on herself subconsciously. She won't be able to accept that she's not to be blamed even if she sees very similar examples and places blame on those correctly, because in her instance, she's never known anything else.
      A more extreme version of this can be found in communities of the misinformed, nazis thought what they do is right because no one told them otherwise, slave owners thought slavery was fine for that same reason, KKK too, and any other cult as well. It's not that all those people are straight up evil(there are those a**holes who are aware what they're doing is wrong, but don't care) but that they literally can't even imagine that there's a possibility what they're doing is wrong, because everyone they know agrees with it. Her grandparents, and the post, should hopefully help her break out of that cycle, but it might be too late for that to happen fast. That formed the guilt complex, but removing it might not destroy it. I feel immense guilt over things that I've been forgiven for, told by everyone around me that I'm going way overkill, and I know, as a fact, that I have a guilt complex about it, but I still can't get myself to believe that it's not my fault. I can't even begin to imagine what she must've gone through when I'm feeling guilt over something trivial, and she's been forced into guilt over such a traumatizing event.
      If you're reading this OP, or anyone else actually, get a psychologist, and change the psychologist if you don't immediately feel better, psychologists who are good at their jobs are amazing, and everyone, traumatized or not, needs to see one.

    To the last story:
    OP, the heart of the problem here isn't that your sister can't get pregnant. It's that she's taking out her resentment with her inability to get pregnant and her jealousy of you being able to on you, which is super not okay. It sounds like she didn't really think of how this would make her jealous when she agreed to this arrangement, and now she's letting her jealousy get the best of her and lashing out at you.

      Well, the actual problem here is the fact that OP got pregnant and is giving the baby she's having to her sister because her sister can't have kids, which I will admit, it's very kind of OP to help out her sister like that, but the fact that OP's sister keeps pretending that SHE'S the pregnant one. It's like she wanted the experience of having a baby growing inside her, but can never do so, and so, they tries to live this experience, even though OP is the real pregnant one and the child will be her sister's. Couldn't her sister at least help her out with the pregnancy since it will be her child in return for doing this favor for her sister?

And now shes trying to convince OP that this is her fault, not the mother's. To me, it sounds like she was abusive even before the accident. Yes, ambulances are expensive, but you cant just let whoever is in need of one, just lay there. Theres a reason why driving someone to the hospital is different than having an ambulance to get you there. An ambulance has the equipment to help you while you get there, has (at least in my country) laws for them to facilitate their movement (such as, all the cars have to move to the sides to let the ambulance to get faster), and yes I find outraging just how expensive they are in the USA, but this is still the mothers fault. It’s worrisome and scary real once you see a friend with those feet. I’m friend was a cashier at a grocery store. Of course I was considerate towards her a 100% while making sure she didn’t feel guilty or belittlied by myself or others by being to “helpful”. I get why her sister was upset but she’s overlooking the fact that her baby is inside OP and not her.

    • @EmersonWisp
      @EmersonWisp 3 ปีที่แล้ว +112

      Exactly. Carrying a child takes a huge toll on the carrier and the sister is failing to realize that. I understand she's hurting. It's okay to hurt over such things. However, when you begin causing harm to others it's a huge issue that can't go unchecked.
      People have lost teeth, hair, weight, suffered horrible illnesses, and more simply from being pregnant. The fetus literally leeches all the nutrients it can and the parent/carrier gets the scraps. Some folks have fainting spells while pregnant due to not having enough nutrients to keep stable. The sister has a right to be upset, but not a right to deny the one carrying her f*cking baby care. If she wants that baby healthy she needs to go to therapy and stop treating her sister like a little creature meant to live in the shadows of her sadly twisted reality.

    • @HandleBeTaken
      @HandleBeTaken 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I do think OP's not innocent in all this though. OP should not have snapped that at her, saying: "she is not actually pregnant and she can't understand how exhausting it can be." Yes, she cannot understand, because she CAN'T get pregnant (without risking her life). That's a harsh thing to say to someone with fertility issues.
      Yes, the sister was very unreasonable and deserves (more) asshole points. She's going overboard, and risking her baby's health for the experience of being pregnant. But OP also deserves one or at least half a point for that comment. If the people in the store were looking at her "like she was a monster" I don't think her comment wasn't as tame as she made it it out to be. Saying: "You will never know what it's like to be pregnant!" is a heartless thing to say to a woman with fertility issues (she never stated the exact wording and depending on that it could be very hurtful).
      I think they just need to sit down and have a heart to heart conversation, maybe with a therapist present to act as a mediator and to keep them calm.

      Wasn't it the story before that was basically telling all women that their only "value" is being able to birth children? Yes, the sister is behaving badly, but the story doesn't give all the details of the infertility issues (which is completely understandable) but I can imagine how desperate that must feel for the sister to want to be a mother and fundamentally failing (that is exactly how some people see it). She must be in a terrible place mentally, knowing that her longed-for child is there but unable to feel it move and grow and be the source of all that child needs. It's a horrible story that neither comes out well in.

    You know, technically, the mom is responsible for the dad's death since she didn't want to pay for an ambulance. The whole thing could have been avoided if she was just willing to get a damn ambulance when her kid needed to go to the hospital. They didn't explain what happened to cause it but if your kid needs to go to the hospital that's going to have many people already on edge.

      Basically, what OP's mom is saying is her father would still be alive if OP never hurt herself, resulting in needing to go to the hospital. It's horrible, blaming someone who needed the hospital for the parent's death because you don't want to pay for an ambulance, basically, making it your fault. It actually shows that she's cheap and if something that she caused to happen happens, she doesn't want to be blamed for it, she instead blames the person who needed to go the hospital for it.

      Exactly my question. Some women really get whacko over having kids and become downright unstable about it. If she can't even cope with her envy over not being able to carry her own child, then I seriously worry about what kind of mother she'll be. They need an intervention and mental help professionals, not kidding. She needs to work through this before she gets that baby in her life.

      I think they should really get professional counselling for her if they haven't already. Infertility is a difficult emotional situation all on its own and the way she's reacting seems like it's only escalating. At this rate she's going to demand a bed in the delivery room next to OP and want the medical team to pretend to deliver the baby from her. I have friends who've gone through surrogacy and had really lovely and nurturing experiences in tandem with the surrogate mamas - it's a shame things are so messed up in this case cause you'd think it would be easier having it be your own sister.

    I relate to the guilt complex the first OP faces. I’ve cPTSD and PTSD because of my mother and brother. My mother knew my brother physically beat me and psychologically tortured me, she told me I’d deserved it somehow. She didn’t want to care for her 2 kids and left that job to me, because it was my fault she didn’t want to parent. She would regularly tell me it was her fault she was suicidal and I was the reason she wanted to kill herself. As adults my brother constantly stole from me, lied, was still extremely psychologically abusive, and my mother just enabled him. She complained about him privately to me, but never once said anything too him and wondered when he’d “mature”.
    She continued her psychological abuse, and wondered why I was distant. When I got the chance to move to an entirely different city, away from them, I did, and I got housed by an agency who helped move 16-24 y/o who’d come from abusive backgrounds. Apparently I was one of the most independent because I could fully care for myself, and were depressed to learn I’d been doing that since I was a kid, because growing up I didn’t have a normal childhood, I was my brothers carer and mother’s carer, I cared for the household, I did the shopping, I rarely managed to go to school because my mother didn’t want to care for either of us. It was a lonely life of neglect and abuse, so the agency offered me some therapy, where they tried to teach me none of it was my fault, but that feeling sticks with you, especially when you’ve been gaslight since early childhood to believe it’s all your fault.
    I cut off all contact a few years ago, when I did I got nothing but abuse from both of them, especially attacking me for my disabilities and claiming my very real permanent nerve damage, that I’ve had multiple surgeries on, an entire medical team, a walking stick for when I can walk, probs around 30 pills a day, and 90% bedridden, was “made up” for “sympathy”, which solidified my decision to cut all contact. Whenever it’s my birthday she posts to her Facebook
    “Happy birthday to my daughter, who’s selfish because she still won’t talk to me” to garner sympathy from her followers.
    My Grandmother knows the full reasoning, understands exactly what happened, has seen the receipts from me, and is disgusted by her daughters behaviour. Whenever my mother complains to my Grandmother she’s told it’s 100% her own fucking fault, and if she just tried treating me as a normal human being, I’d still talk to her.
    But I still feel guilty that I’ve ruined my family by putting my own mental health first, my cPTSD and PTSD could no longer handle talking to my mother or brother. I would have a mental breakdown every few days, now they’re rare, last had one in January during a bad trigger date. So whilst I’m happier in life, I still feel a lot of guilt, it’s really hard to let go of. It messes with you mentally and it’s hard to get over.

      Yeah. Honestly. Im glad she got out of that house. Messing with a disabled persons mobility aid is NOT OKAY. Even if its at home, and for a game. The only time you should ever be allowed to mess with mobility aids is if you are explicitly being asked to. Im glad most people (besides work) respect my disability currently in my life. But holy shit I know that experience of "well it isnt THAT important".
      Along with being blamed for a parents death. That was 100% the mothers fault for not wanting a fucking ambulance. Yeah it was an accident that happened, but just think. If the mother said "yes let's call an ambulance" the father would still be alive. Part of me is thinking the mom planned something to get rid of the dad without having a divorce. Wouldnt be the first time in history. But im not saying it is what happened.
      I blame myself for my dads death (I relate a LOT to the first story holy shit) because after I was born my mom went into a massive bipolar episode and they ended up getting into a divorce. Well my dad wasn't the brightest of people and 5 years after I was born he got mixed into the wrong crowd and passed. But I know it wasn't really my fault, but I just constantly blame myself because, if I wasn't born, my older brothers may have a dad, and be living a better life.
      I cried reading this omg.

    • @AngelEmfrbl
      @AngelEmfrbl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Again. as I said to others, just bare in mind she didn't say the crash cause.
      And kids have been the causes of crashes. But this was when she was 5, its over a decade later, she's older, wiser, smarter. She isn't that girl who may have been the reason her father died. The crash was horrorific based on her injuries and its likely her father was fatally wounded so badly it was obvious from on sight he was going to die. I don't think she' be able to get an image of her father's death out of her head, especially if he was bleeding or had serious injuries. No kid shoudl have to see that sort of thing, cause of the crash or not.
      The girl has her reasons for not saying the details of the crash, I think its best we accept that and just offer our sympathy. She needs help and her asshole mother isn't helping by reminding her she cause the crash.
      As fo rthe ambulance, I'm presuming as I said elsewhere they live in America. Ambulances are $4000+ at their cheapest to be called and a lot of Americans' opt out even if they can be saved. And this is without the other healthcare stuff, if he needed healthcare, they could have faced a bill in the thousands, if not hundreds of thousands. And if the wounds were fatal upon sight, the mother likely deemed it not worth the money to call an ambulance for someone about to die anyway. Its the reality of the American healthcare system.
      If its not, thinking about it there may be other reasons we don't know like he never had a license to begin with or their illegal imigrants, etc. ITs kinda bad to have a story where details are left out as we don't have thousands of details needed to be a fair judge. For the moment, what we do know is that in present day, the girl is being beaten over something that happened a long time ago. And that she is basically being domestically abused for something thats no longer her control. The mother is doing nothing to stop the step father the the step-father is an asshole.
      The girl needs help in multple ways, if it was her fault, there is theraphy for this to help her move on. If she didn't, she needs to understand she didn't and needs to talk it out with someone, maybe theraphy again. As I've noted elsewhere, saying something isn't someone's fault without knowing details can make it worst as strangers are presuming the best of a situation and it cam make guilt worst. I wish her well and hopes some day someone takes her thorugh the processes to heal, so she just can move past all of this.

    • @DeathProductions200
      @DeathProductions200 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AngelEmfrbl so, she did in a comment say she didn't cause the accident. She blames herself for needing to go to the hospital.
      As for the costs of an ambulance ride, I still blame the mother. I know not all families are the same, but for my family at least, we struggled financially and I had to have many surgeries on my ankle. But if we needed an ambulance to make sure we got to a hospital safely. They would do it. Even if it was for a small thing like a dislocated arm.
      And I do agree she needs to go to therapy, and she has said in another comment that she is planning on going to therapy.
      But the mother is 100% at fault. The mother is the reason she believes it was her fault for her dads death. Imagine constantly being blamed for something for 12 years, from before you can truly comprehend a situation to being basically an adult.
      And I hope the mother didn't plan anything, but part of me still believes the mother planned to take her husband out to not deal with divorce papers. Ive heard of stories happening similar. Hell ive heard of people actually getting into "affairs" so the divorce would be easier. Both parties are aware but just to make it go by faster.
      Of course I don't want to believe that, but it dealt with narcissistic people before, and they show HEAVY signs of wanting to do things like that.

And just because a woman defines herself as beeing a "doctor" for example rather than a "mom" when asked doesn't mean she automatically doesn't love her kids.
