Right?! I've never had a grizzly bear either, but if it lived peacefully with its owners I sure wouldn't put in a car and drive it to the auto parts store and drop it off!
Looks like jobless fiance's sister is starting to rub her choosing beggar ways onto the fiance too. "You have to financially take care of my whole family and throw your cat out!" Soon she's not even interested in trying to find a job for herself. Maybe she'll want a baby of her own very soon.
This was my exact thought when I heard the story, that poor child.... OP should dump the sister-in-law and the fiance. If the FIANCE doesn't care about how their family treats animals in OP's home and doesn't respect OP's family then what's going to happen if they ever have children?? Eeesh...
I kinda felt the same way. Or at least say, "if you're not going to have my back and protect what's important to me, then I have to rethink our relationship." I really hate the "it's just a pet" mentality. It's a living being with an emotional life and the capacity to feel pain. It's not a disposable toy to get rid of on a whim.
@@yggdrasil1969 And usually people get attached to their pets. Throwing out Billy like that shows the pregnant woman's inability to understand other people's feelings, let alone act so as not to hurt them. To some people, it would even be like abandoning a child on the streets with nothing but the clothes on his/her back.
Not to mention, OP is literally paying for everything they currently have since the fiancé is jobless. You’re telling me you have the audacity to tell the person providing for you to give his cat to someone else so you guys can be happy? BS
You start to wonder if the sister was an annoying ass bitch to the ex husband. Really makes you think a whole lot does it? Also ya, op should get ready to get a lawyer and tell his soon to be ex fiancé that their done.
I hate to think the worst of people, but I've always been secretly terrified that somebody was going to take or hurt my pets, whether it was an ex-boyfriend out for revenge, or a stupid situation like this one. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I love my pets!
The story of the lady who pretended she was poor: It really just sounds like she is lying for sympathy, even if you don't want to boast about your money, just don't mention it. But no, she went out of her way to pretend she is poor??
Agreed. You can still talk to friends about their plans without talking about your own finances. And even if they ask about your finances/plans, you can be vague and say “We’re doing a lot of saving right now” or “I still have my college car, but I love it and I’m sure I’ll get a new one eventually” Instead of pulling the “Oh woe is me, I’m just a poor poor millionaire”
Yep it sounds quite manipulative with possibly an underhanded agenda or else why tell outright lies. If it was only to fit in her friends she could easily just not say anything.
I mean, crap. You could always say "Oh, I wish I could afford a new car, but my money's going to other goals right now" if you feel so bad about still driving your college car.
How to Treat a Cat -A Beginner's Guide: 1) Don't attempt to abandon the cat. 2) Leave the cat alone. 3) Don't throw out their food. 4) Give scritches when requested.
This!!! That woman would’ve been out of my house so fast. All respect for you is lost if I ever see you trying to harm my cats or any animal! Plus, If she’s that way towards a pet, how is she going to be when her baby starts “annoying her“?. Also, the thing about it bad for cats to be around pregnant women is absolute BS!
I'm glad OP had a neighbor that not only recognized PreggerSis, just have known that what she was doing was Not Right Nor Normal, and was familiar with with Billy to scoop the cat up to return home to OP. I would have kicked out _anyone_ who did that to my pets (whom I view as family members), and would have had thrice the wrath if Billy had never been found.
@@gaveintothedarkness My neighbour returned my pet to me after he'd been missing for a few weeks, he spotted him while riding his bike and immediately called his wife to pick him up. She came to my house and said her husband is certain he's found your cat. So we both jumped in her car and she took me to her husband who'd been following him keeping distance until she arrived with some food or myself. My cat ran straight to me and let my neighbours wife feed him a tin of food. After that my cat recognised their car and would watch out the window until their front door closed. Needless to say animals feel emotions and I bought them a Christmas hamper that was worth 1.2k, I said I had won it though because I didn't want them to feel bad 😅
you forget the nature of cats. they are vindictive assholes and will absolutely focus all their attentions on the one person who is scared of them. lol
counterpoint i think that going deaf chauvinist is also a jerk move as if deaf culture is the only culture to which you belong. The parents are dopes though.
Imagine the fact that this is actually 80% of the parents of deaf children: talking instead of using sign language... many of my deaf friends don’t have much contact with their hearing family because of this.
@@afuzzycreature8387 You are American, right? That means your culture is also American. Your frame of reference is based on your language and location. Even with mixed heritage you will still identify with the culture that surrounds you and where you feel comfortable. Being deaf means that your culture is based on a language that is different from the type you can experience as a hearing person. Like, you can watch a movie in Vietnamese using subtitles or listen to the radio. But a deaf person won't have the same experience of a movie and the radio do nothing for them. Thus, their culture is centered around the things they _can_ experience.
In the UK your banned from teaching bsl to your kids and bsl isn't even used in schools for the deaf !! My daughter is deaf ( high tone deafness ) and I wanted her to learn bsl as i wanted her to learn her own language but was told not to teach her so it's not always the parents fault if like us they were told that they are not to teach them and there are no bsl courses that teaches deaf children which means the parents have to spend a fortune £1000s to learn several courses then teach the child which is very difficult as you can't do a basic course and teach it. I know basic sign although I'm very rusty as I've not used it in years and can no longer hold a conversation in bsl, I'm also not equipped to teach it, but even if we were able to teach it she won't be allowed to use it as in mainstream schools and colleges and even in schools for the deaf they are not allowed to use bsl, they don't provide someone to sign for the deaf in schools and colleges either to help them understand what's going on . The kids are taught to use their voices. The only time a deaf child is taught to sign in the uk is if the parents are also deaf and sign all the time and they use it at home or with friends. Basically they are taught from birth by deaf parents Yes I know it's all backwards and stupid but that's the way it is I'm afraid. At the end of the day basically it's the deaf who must learn to mix into a hearing world not the hearing world mix in with the deaf world which I hate even as someone who is hearing I learnt bsl as a child as my aunt is deaf and i was told turn of your mouth turn on your hands in deaf club so I taught myself I got by but used it less and less over the years but I was able to help deaf people in shops or at the train station a few times etc. If I need to sign now first thing I sign is please sign slowly my bsl bad lol then I struggle through it but it's rare I need it now. My daughter talks, uses hearing aids and she has a radio aid we bought her to use in college which provides a direct link from teacher to her hearing aids . Sadly its still very much a hearing world of which the deaf must try to fit in not the other way round people don't like different so they make the deaf community fit into a hearing world by making the use hearing aids and equipment to help them hear better and teach them to talk rather than let them sign. I'm not saying I agree with it im just saying this is the world we live in and yes it's wrong I've seen first hand just how they make deaf people fit in to a hearing world and sometimes it's difficult to watch I've had many arguments with teachers for the deaf about this over the years and when my daughter showed them I taught her the signs for some animals she asked about dog, cat , rabbit, I was told if i carried on teaching her bsl they would stop the school support she needed !! So that was quickly stopped as my daughter has learning disabilities so she needed that support, so please don't always assume it's the parents fault it's the world we live in
I’m allergic to cats, but even I wouldn’t go into someone else’s home and just take a cat out and abandon it somewhere. Animals have fears just like us and I’m sure that poor cat was freaking out! I feel so bad for Billy!
I'm allergic to cats as well and my uncle has a hellspawn of a cat that hates everyone but his girlfriend and even I'm not petty enough to go into his house and hurt that cat.
I'm deathly allergic to cats thanks to chronic asthma. Even with allergy pills I can't be in a house with a cat for more then a couple hours. That said I like cats and would sooner sleep in my car then try to make someone get rid of their cat...
Some people think that being passive and not speaking up is "keeping the peace" but it's all-around toxic and only makes things worse in the long run. Her sister disgustingly overstepped and her immediate reaction is "take the cat to a friends"???? Dump the fiancée and find someone who wouldn't let in a toxic person into your home.
She didn’t even take the cat to friend! She dropped by some repair shop and a neighbor brought him back! Even if she did, she took him to someone who treated The cat even worst then she did! I can’t Image what could have happened to Billy if the neighbor didn’t notice.
Actually I disagree. The OP of that story should sit down with his fiancée and tell her to quit being so passive about her sister’s issues and stand up for the both of them. Dumping her may hurt the fiancée and potentially damage the relationship beyond repair. Also, this couple needs to go no contact with the sister for a while. What the sister did was disgusting, this much is obvious, but it should not come between a loving relationship. If OP and his fiancée want to keep their relationship, the fiancée needs to learn how to properly stand up for herself and others and OP needs to get the cat microchipped if he hasn’t already so that he can find his friend again more easily in case this happens again. For both of them, bar the sister from seeing them ever again until her issues are gone.
@@kittyrose1245 And I disagree with this. This wasn't a simple argument where the sister instigated a fight and the gf stayed 'neutral.' This involves the life and wellbeing of an animal, mind you. The sister intentionally abandoned the cat and was only caught because the neighbor saw and brought the cat back. The sister, knowing what her sister did, tried to stay 'neutral' and have the cat stay at a friend's rather than acknowledging how fucked up the sister is and that it's the cat's home too. This is op's cat, not hers. It became an issue in the relationship when the life of op's cat was threatened and the gf didn't immediately put her sister in her place. She let this toxic woman into op's home and tried to excuse it by saying 'she doesn't know how to treat cats.' Op and his cat are clearly distressed. Hurting her feelings is the least of anyone's worries in this.
@@michamocha okay you’ve got a point. My thought was that maybe the fiancée was used to her sister’s antics so much that she lost the will to argue back. Thinking about now, I realize that yes, OP and his cat Billy are in danger. This is not a good match for OP and he needs to leave immediately. The very least he could do is move to a new city if he can where he and Billy are safe. That poor cat 🐈 deserves a good home with his owner whether OP is engaged or not. Thanks for pointing that out.
Agreed. It's not op's fault that Hannah's dad was not in her life. The mom she have nipped it in the butt rather than just have op be her outlet for her anger. The truth about why op moved in with her dad was going to come out eventually.
I'm more so upset that the mothers resolution for her daughters clear abandonment problems from her dad didn't get her into therapy faster. I hold her accountable for her actions, I just also feel she didn't choose for her father to never contact her again. It's n o reason to treat her other sister like shit but therapy is all about progress and unless we are able to hold ourselves accountable for the awful shit we did during a difficult time, we will never see how it hurt others.
@@nikonarshe9296 thank you i was worried that no one would get this. The mother is the most responsible. And deserves as many buttholes. He spent a majority of her time with her daughter's neglecting one and then proceeded to lie to the other after her sister left the household. She should have done better to mediate with her daughter's they should have been disciplining the one that was acting out and most importantly she should have gotten her into therapy when she noticed the bad behavior. She essentially ignored her problem until it "worked itself out."
In the current time it feels like every second AITA story is a person questioning if they should kick their entitled, pregnant family out of their living space.
It's sadly not unheard of for hearing parents to not learn any sign language. Sometimes it's because they've gotten their children cochlear implants and therefore it's "unnecessary", and sometimes they're more upfront about it and admit it's because they'd rather have their children conform than learn how to communicate with them.
The mom in the first story basically told her daughter: Don't treat me the way I treat you and other disabled people. I see them as lesser than me and I REFUSE to be treated as less than I precieve myself to be!
@@markjohnson7887 I mean that's an entirely negative way to see it. Her mother refused to even let her /be/ a deaf person. Yes, the gift she gave was pretty great. But there is no harm in her learning ASL or any part of what it's like to be deaf. Those implants can die and it's always good to have a back up plan. She wanted to learn about who she was. That's like having a kid with an African man and refusing to let them have any of their culture because you're an American and when the kid is an adult and goes "Ya know what I wanna learn about being African" and decides they prefer that identity saying they said "Screw you mom, I chose to be African" ... liiiike ...
As a Brit, I always have a chuckle whenever someone in an English speaking country, (not including Scotland, the northern country of Britain) says that.
I’m not sure about that. If she was only doing it for attention, don’t you think she’d mention it without being prompted to when other people talk about spending? That she’d just complain about it just so she could garner sympathy? OP mentions she she just says it when people talk about money rather than just whenever. I have a feeling there’s more to the story than what OP wrote.
That’s how I read it as well. Unfortunately I have an aunt who is like this. She constantly complained that they were broke, even though she lived in a wealthy community, in a two story house that she paid for in cash and had all new cars in the garage. She’s scammed a bunch of people with this sob story about how broke she is. She would constantly complain to her siblings, one of whom basically became homeless at 60 years old and had to move back in with his mother for a while.
@@bridi0821 There might be, but I doubt it. Many people love the sympathy and attention they get from pretending to be underprivileged, and if she brings it up only in calculated ways, that doesn't make it any more intentional.
@@bridi0821 Yea I thought so too. It could be that since they're always saving she developed feelings of guilt towards spending money, and now everytime she wants something she feels like she shouldnt? Like, she is actually very secure moneywise, but because she doesnt see the saved money as her own money anymore she feels broke and like she cant spend money on fun stuff?
@@Mimble_Doodles especially because some people are mentioning in the comments of the Reddit post that OP said his wife’s name isn’t even on the investment account. So it literally isn’t her money.
About the bbq story, that guy doesn't value at all what his wife does, it's basically nothing to him, it's like he expected it all to he done by itself
The weird thing is that he actually said he'd do everything. Its like he expected the patio to clean itself, the sides to prepare themselves, the beer to cool itself and the silverware to put itself out all by magic
Dude may be able to barbecue but he couldn’t do the complete package of preparation. I agree with the final assessment however I am of the opinion that a good barbecue inherently takes at least 2 people to prepare. 1 for meats, drinks and a few other minor things prior to it actually happening and the other for sides and to split the prep work in setting the table. Dude is the asshole no doubt. However, two are definitely needed unless people are asked to bring sides or sides are ordered ahead of time. My aunt and uncle have a 4th of July bbq every year and there is always at least 5 setting up. Two active grill masters making sure everyone gets the desired type of meat at the right cook and alerting the “runner” when coolers are getting empty. Inside there are two making or putting final touches on sides greeting people as they come in and help with the table as sides are ready etc. the runner helps them by helping set the table and is the main source of communication between grill and sides
@@bullshark3771 I think she was a bit of a butthole as well. At least a 1. She said he never asks for his help and that she just did it. Then suddenly stops helping even a little. She made no mention that she ever communicated that she would like more help from his side nor gave any input to help him. In my opinion, she was very unsupportive making her a butt. Also, I don’t think it’s entitled to expect someone to do something that they usually do unwarranted.
I think the woman who claims to be broke is doing it to get attention and sympathy from her friends and family which is why she was so upset to be called out. She’s wanting to be thought a martyr for living modestly
The funny thing if you go read OP’s post & some of comments he has made/responded to they are living modestly purely by choice instead by necessity. Lol
I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and figure that claiming to be broke may be a way she avoids the temptation to spend. Its still quite inconsiderate for her to keep doing it after he said it bothers him though. I'm not quite sure that justifies telling people just how well off they are. Its seems like a good compromise would be to point out that they're not broke, but are living modestly to save up for retirement or some other major expense (home ownership, kids, etc).
Then again, it could also be to not brag. Her friends are all less well off and she might worry about them resenting her, or worse, asking for money if they found out. OP had to save his ego, and now she gets to hear about her friend's financial distress while they know that she has at least $500,000 in the account. Also, she isn't a millionaire, she is only entitled to half.
Yeah, its a a fucking labour day parade full of red flags. They clearly lack empathy not only in relation to the cat, but to the partner too. Imagine to what this shit can lead if they have kids together.
As someone who as lived in poverty for the first 30 years of my life, it frustrates me so much when people complain about being poor when they're not. Like, "I just spent $800 on makeup and clothing so I'm soooo poor and my parents would only give me 2k until next payday" like fuck off, that's not the same as being poor.
@@charliedavis5787 I feel like there’s more to the story than OP wrote though. Maybe OP’s wife grew up in similar poverty circumstances and developed the mindset of “we don’t have enough money” that just stuck with her. My mother grew up really poor and despite having a decent job, has that same mentality.
@@bridi0821 i think it's good old american pity racing. how people feel like a martyr or want the praise and attention of struggling sooo much but still "making ot". like legit being poor has become a way to garner attention and like a badge of suffering or whatever. its like when someone says they broke an arm, and someone comes back with "well i broke 2" its sad
@@nanashiwolf I think it’s less severe than that because American culture (at least current American culture) has really normalized us complaining about being broke even if we’re able to pay our bills with money left over.
being a good guest in someones home is REALLY not difficult: respect them, their space and their belongings and clean up after yourself. It’s really simple, but it’s amazing how many people manage to screw that up
In this day and age it IS difficult, cos kids are no longer taught how to behave in a decent polite manner or what the TRUE meaning of MUTUAL RESPECT is…
I love how OP’s fiancé told them that there’s no problem in taking Billy to stay at a friend’s house because her sister is obviously scared of him, but using that logic then there’s no problem in taking the sister to stay at a friend’s house because Billy’s scared of her.
I have another reason English is less American than ASL, modern and old English oriented in the British isles, and modern English takes a lot of accents and spelling from French, Nordic languages, Germanic, Slavic, and probably Italian.
Right? Cats act jarringly similar to kids. They're not as child-like as parrots, but more so than dogs. Cats act half like a wild animal, and half like a toddler. If you can't handle raising a cat, which is basically a slightly more dangerous but easier to raise child, then you definitely can't handle raising a kid. In terms of behavior, they straight up just act like kids that like to occasionally kill and eat small animals. The actual care is vastly different, but if you can't handle how cats BEHAVE, then you'd really hate a cat that screams instead of growls when it's mad and throws stuff across the room.
Pregnant sister better feel lucky that he just wanted to kick her out instead of something else because honestly that story got my blood boiling and if ANYONE did that with one of my cats HEADS. WOULD. ROLL.
I would have reacted incredibly poorly to the pregnant sister with retort of "If you think throwing out a living thing simply because you don't like is your solution, Than maybe you should reconsider having one that can eventually talk back to you."
If someone came into MY HOUSE and got rid of MY PETS (I have a beagle, a guinea pig, and I'm getting a puppy in two days) they'd be lucky to get kicked out in one piece. Edit: OMG MY PUPPY IS THE CUTEST THING! ❤️❤️❤️
Manage to get the pets back…hire a wood chipper…the dogs would eat free for quite a while… …dark and morbid…but…a deserving logical extension of your comment :)
I would immediately kick out the sister and the fiance for even trying to rationalize the sisters actions. If someone allows you to live in your home, saving you from homelessness. You worship the ground they walk on and show gratitude. Not kick out their beloved pet!
Not only that she was gonna live there probably for free. Use their wifi, eat their food, and have access to netlfix, hulu and more. I would have reminded her each time she complain about my pet." Gee you talk like you are paying the bills around here" or " you know its funny i thought you were the guest who should be grateful." Something like that for her to stop. If she actually did something like that. I would have thrown her stuff out the window
With the story of the fiancé sister just imagine instead of a cat it’s a kid. Oh I never took care of a kid before so that’s why I yell at them, throwing their food away before they eat it, and leave it outside without anyone watching them. Now tell me does that sound better or just as bad with a pet that’s not even yours?
Op with the pregnant SIL, that’s crazy!! If my fiancé’s sister tried that shit with throwing my cat away, I’d kick her out AND tell him he’s happily welcomed to leave with her!! I don’t play about my babies, they were there before fiancé and they’ll be there after! I’m not compromising for anyone, pregnant or not 😂
I know he theoretically speaks to op on his channel but it’s funny to me that he spoke to deaf op without any captions so they wouldn’t understand/hear what he’s saying unless the cc is correct
I read the title that way too lol. But if he actually had kicked her, I would not have agreed with that even with what she did. It might have hurt the baby, and it’s not the kid’s fault that his/her mom is an utter witch
I mean... I don't think she'd be a good mother either. If she abandons the cat somewhere because "she's never had one and doesn't know what to do with it" she might well abandon the kid somewhere because "she's never had one and doesn't know what to do with it".
Tbh I think the most important thing about the hannah story is that in the end hannah got to get help with what she really needs. And I am am being genuinely happy about that. It's good that she can get help and can recognize what was needed to be addressed early before it affected her adult life

My ex husband did the same thing as the "I'm so poor" story, and it irritated the absolute heck outta me. The only thing is that he didn't complain to our friends and family about. He would make comments along the lines of, "Oh, I'm so tired of being poor." And we weren't. We had a house, two cars, all bills were paid, I made sure he had extra spending money every week; but in his mind, we were somehow poor. I don't understand his way of thinking. He is from Venezuela, and I don't know if that played a part in why he thought we were poor, but I NEVER understood why he felt that way. In addition, he was VERY bad with managing his money. The deaf community is awesome. Had some friends when I was living out on the east coast. One of my freinds was getting baptized and the service was held in ASL. I had been practicing ASL for a few months but was not fluent. Wanting to express my happiness to my friend, I asked a mutual friend Bob how to say congratulations (he is deaf with implants). @@starlightdash4285 exactly. I am angry about Billy. Someone tried stealing our cat Bertie once (blue russian cat, pretty rare to see where I live but relatives had their car pregnant so we asked since we were looking for a cat). After four days that he did not come home (and after four days of searching and asking neighbours to check their garden sheds and greenhouses since he was a very curious and adventurous cat) we put out posters and day later we noticed some people investigating the poster very thoroughly when we went looking for him again, they were calling someone else and suddenly within that day hour Bertie showed up in our back yard, limping. After that he was afraid of men (me included, I was his guy before this, he'd sleep at my feet and curl up on my lap to sleep and I'd be the first person he'd ask to play with him, he's never done it after he returned), especially if they wore leather jackets (I had to start dressing up for motorcycleride or put on my club racing jacket which looks kinda like a black leather jacket in garage since if I did that in hallway and he saw me he would hide for hours behind washing machine). He started being lethargic. Afraid of people - he loved people before, visiting neighbours that loved him was his favourite past time. He stopped being adventurous and runs away if we open door. Getting him to travel box is a fight, he used to not mind it even after experiencing multiple vet visits. He was completely different, like he had a PTSD. He also refused to eat for 3 days, even his favourite snacks. You could count his ribs... It's been two years and he still has not fully recovered. What was once a very adventurous, sociable cat is now a cautious, stressed cat that hides when someone visits and gets scared by open doors or sound of doors opening. And yes, it is our cat - we had him chipped because we were letting him outside and municipality asks owners (its voluntary but saves you trip to shelters since they know exactly whether the cat is stray or not and if ot os vaccinated etc so we decided there's no harm) to chip the cats. Vet checked the chip and confirmed it is Bertie. I reviewed camera footage that we have in our driveway and over backyard (I have cameras there mostly to check if UPS etc brings a parcel and in backyard - our friends often use backyard to come visit us since they are also neighbours so we have a gate between backyards so it works more like an intercom but I found cheap IP cameras to be much better system to use than an overpriced intercom and also I do own some expensive racing stuff in my garage so I kinda want to have camera for insurance purposes) and yeah, someone pulled over, climbed the neighbours fence and tossed (literally tossed, like a ball) Bertie over our fence which is 8ft tall privacy wall. He nearly landed in a pool where he would drown/freeze to death since it was winter and there was about foot of cold water in it and no ladder (that he would not be able to climb anyway) and limped to the door. The thing is - there's 5ft gate right next to (like 4 steps down) the place where they tossed him over. Then you can see the same car turn go away. Sadly the cameras are cheap so you can't read the licence plate or see the face clearly but it was a fairly burly guy in his 30s in what seemed to be a lime green E39 3 series BMW. Pretty uncommon looking car so... If you own a plastidipped/wrapped BMW then I officially hate you. I am thankful for Bertie being back and not drowning bit holy shit just knock on the door and lie that you found him instead... We did specify a reward (about $700, to make people really check their gardens if they did not lock him kn a shed by accident) for finding and returning him.
I'm glad you got Bertie back, but holy heck some people are assholes. Never fails to baffle me how anyone can treat an animal like that and not see anything wrong with it. Sorry Bertie's still so affected by his experience, and I hope he gets his confidence back eventually.
Sign language is just plain cool. It should be taught in first grade alongside the alphabet and spelling. Even for hearing people, how cool would it be to have a conversation in a loud place without shouting?
you have a point but in about 10 years of retail i needed sign language once and outside of work i've never met a deaf person. would it be cool to know? absolutely, should it be mandatory? definitely not.
they did that at my school. We had ASL classes a few times a week and even learned some songs in ASL to perform in assemblies. It was a cool experience. Can't remember much beyond the alphabet now.
How could you actually give the man who corrected his wife about their income a point. She absolutely deserved to be corrected, because if you not poor or broke. DONT go around telling people you are. Honestly, she would not even get the first warning if i was in his shoes.
I mean i agree with rslash. Its all in the tact. Its always a bit douchey to talk about higher income no matter how justified it might be. It always comes off as bragging even if it is meant to be an honest correction. Just the nature of talking about finances. So giving one point to him for that i think is fair
But OP could have worded it in a much better way rather than just being like “WE’RE MILLIONAIRES.” He could have just been like “but we aren’t broke. We’re pretty financially stable.” Also, mentioning your finances in front of your friends and family is just...trashy.
The fiance said "there's no problem with taking the animal to a friend's house." She dropped the cat off on the side of the road and the neighbor just happened to see her do it. She didn't take the cat to go stay somewhere else she completely kicked the cat out to make it a stray and house cats would not make it out in the wild. Domesticated animals don't know how to hunt or fend for themselves really because they have owners that give them everything food, water, a place to play, a place to sleep, a roof over their head etc
12:00 imagine living for free in someones house and everyting gets paid for you and you start complaining and kick loved once out becous you dont like them in there own house where your staying
So according to the fiancé dropping Billy the cat off near an auto repair shop is the equivalent of having a friend look after Billy. I'm 100% behind rSlash in telling OP to dumb the fiancé and keep cat.
I really don't understand why someone who has the option to get an implant would choose to live without their hearing. Unless the implants don't work, or cause intense discomfort or something?
If my husband insisted on having his friends over to barbecue I say well it's your barbecue you got to do it not me. I would definitely go on strike with the guy for the rest of the month and see how he likes it
For the story with the hearing impaired couple, my thought was that first off ASL is their primary language so that would be the same as asking a Hispanic/Asian/Indian/etc. couple that they couldn't have their ceremony in [insert language here]. That is their language. Also, if the ceremony is performed in ASL, he hearing impaired can WATCH the ceremony while it happens and focus on the bridge and groom. However, if the ceremony was in English, the hearing impaired people who have to focus on the interpreter, thus taking the focal point away from the happy couple. However, if the people who can here are just LISTENING to someone, they can still watch the bride and groom while LISTENING. It makes a lot more sense to have the wedding in ASL on more than one level.
Releasing a housecat into the wild should be considered animal abuse, no questions. And I'm pretty sure I could argue some kind of ecological terrorism. Housecats can't survive in the wild, just like domestic bunnies can't. And if they DO manage to survive in the wild, they wreak havoc on the local ecosystem. One loose housecat can utterly wreck an ecosystem. That guy's FSIL should be arrested. She's LUCKY someone saw her and brought the cat back. Billy deserves better. If the fiance can't see that, throw the whole family out.
I think with the networth story, the wife was maybe trying to gain a social status of "broke and humble" and that's why she kept repeating that line. She's straight up lying to their mutual friends for sympathy points.
I mean. Most people don’t like sharing that they’re rich compared to sharing that they’re broke. I also don’t understand where OP is coming from with the “it makes me look bad” because they’re BOTH working. So I have no idea where OP’s getting the “I need to be the breadwinner” mentality when they literally aren’t.
@@kdsfhkljfnsdfo1323 but SHE’S not the one with the money. OP is. OP’s wife has $500 in her account while OP is one who saved up before their engagement. Also, OP’s wife isn’t saying “we’re broke” she’s saying “I’M broke.” It might just be me but I think there’s a difference between those two phrases because the $1M is his investment money (OP wrote in an update that his wife isn’t on the investment account because he takes care of the finances so it’s literally not her money).
The deaf bride is gonna wind up cutting her hearing family off and it’s gonna be all her ableist mother’s fault EDIT: I could understand pregnant sister avoiding the cat due to risk of toxoplasmosis etc but what she did is inexcusable
I don't think pregnant sister even knows what that means. I mean, she threw away Billy's food...that's just cruelty, no rationale to her actions other than the flimsy excuses her sister provided: 'she's never had a cat before so she doesn't know how to treat them...' Well, she's never had a baby before. Does that mean she won't know the difference between starving and feeding her baby? Maybe if it cries she'll spray the infant down with water!
If I invited a guest into my home and they grabbed my cat, threw it in the back of their car and dumped it in the middle of nowhere, you can rest assured I'd be rehoming that sadsack of a human being in exactly the same way.
with the story about the sister in therapy the sister who moved with her dad needs to make it clear that she understands what she was going through and probably will never experience something so horrible
Yeah, but the op's disability was corrected by a surgery and she chose to undo it for whatever reason. I mean it's her life she can do what she wants, but fuck if that's not stupid.
@@irprince It may be, but we should respect her decision nonetheless; If she doesn't want it,she doesn't want it. She seems to prefer using Sign Language than implants.
@@irprince it may seem a bit unnecessary for us, but within the deaf community, apparently there is a lot of controversy regarding coclear implants and whether they should be used. I admit, I don't have much knowledge on the subject beyond what I've just stated, but it's just something I've heard.
@@irprince Are you in college right now? You should take a class on Disabilities in America. It will shed some light on people with disabilities and the issues they face. Hopefully by then you will realize just how ignorant your statement really is.
Scared of a cat thats just normally walking around paying her no mind, dangerous for the baby? more like "I just want me and my baby to get all the attention and the cat is just taking it all." with a whiney voice
Cats can actually transmit a disease that is dangerous for the unborn child. Toxoplasmosis. Maybe it would have been a solution to keep the cat at least out of the kitchen. But to discuss that you have to talk to each other.
Anyone that causes harm to a pet is an IMMEDIATELY kicked out, there are no excuses. Also that "pregnant women" thing is only an issue if they #1 Handle cat feces #2 Indoor/Outdoor cats, because the cat has to GET the infection to transmit it.
If the owner of Billy the cat is reading this......leave your fiancee!!! Wow, she waved some massive "red flags" throughout your story. There's clearly some things you do NOT know about your fiancee & I bet you'll "see it all" after marrying. Just avoid the eventual falling-out by escaping now! Pet lovers should avoid relationships w/ ppl who do not care for pets the same way.....too many issues arise from trying to force some1 to accept a pet when they really don't care much.
I live with my parents and I have a cat, my dad is highly allergic to him so I mostly keep him in my room to be respectful to my dad's space. Dad also respects my space and doesn't cause any problems for my cat even though he's really allergic. It's really not that hard to be respectful,
Tell your dad to not be so cheap and get allergy shots. They are only about $10 a month for 2 years. After that, your dad will never be allergic to them for the rest of his life.
if my fiancee's sister threw my cat out and my fiancee didn't stop her, i think what i would do is change all the locks while they're out, and just leave a sign on the door with "it's over, don't come back, keep the stupid ring". someone who's mean to my animals does not deserve a proper goodbye.
Also, with regards to the cat and the pregnant lady, the cat poses no risk unless she is changing the litter box. Doctors do advise that pregnant women do not change cat litter while pregnant, because cats can carry toxoplasmosis, which can cause or contribute to miscarriages. But again, no risk of catching it unless she is changing the litter box as it is spread through the feces.
People don’t realize there is a whole deaf culture and community. The deaf community has faced so much oppression. I’m glad the daughter is standing up for herself
Two organizations, DCARA and ALDA. My older sister belonged to both. She lip read and could sign, but also had limited hearing through childhood. She got by with hearing aids, but it was tough for her being isolated from the rest of society. When she entered the deaf community, I drove her to some of the meetings and events and I was the one who felt isolated from every one else. They welcomed me, but my signing skills are rudimentary at best.
@@markjohnson7887 Uh, her parents forced the cochlear implants on her and refused to let her learn sign language and refused to learn it themselves for her. Cochlear implants aren't always some magical fix to hearing problems. OP said they were horrible to have on and the sound quality was awful. It's clear her parents were trying to force her to be "normal" when she's not. Yes, she was oppressed- by her parents.
My blood is boiling after the first story. I am somone who has a cochlear implant for one ear and massive hearing loss in my other (profound to be exact) and the fact that the mother thinks getting one "cures" you makes me so angry like you still face issues and challenges when having a cochlear implant.
my dad has always did the “i’m so broke” bullshit, but he drives a 2017 GMC Denali, a 90,000$ truck and he brags about it but turns around and acts like it’s hard to buy a few groceries. it drives mom & i crazy because he makes us look like bums when we’re not.
Besides which, OP said it was all invested money.....there is a reason you sign a form stating you know about the dangers of investing before you are allowed to put money in (even through an app) so the fact that the wife specifically said, the reason she says that is because of what is actually in the bank account itself, is actually the more prudent way of viewing things. Since if the CEO of whatever company he invested through took off with the cash (like others have before, even quite recently) there doesn't even have to be a global pandemic, dot-com bubble, or housing market crash, etc to lose all your money unexpectedly 🙄
I don't think Hannah currently deserves a score. She learned about how bad she made her sibling feel, and not only felt bad but decided to go back to therapy to work through it. Heck, based on OP's wording she didn't even tell OP about it. In the past what she did was bad, but I don't think she's done anything wrong recently enough to be judged harshly.
The sister in law, if she done that to me cat then her feet wouldn't have touched the ground. I wouldn't have asked her to leave, I would have thrown her out physically. How dare she.
Oh my God, if someone did that to my cat, regardless of whether that someone is family or not, I would not only kick them out but also file a police report. I’m usually not up for revenge, but if someone does that to my cat, I’d have no problem making their life difficult for a while. 😤
On the thinking they're brokestory, I feel like there's more to it. Like maybe the wife didn't have money growing up and so she psychologically acts like there's not enough, even when there is. Or that maybe she keeps up the "we're broke" thing to keep herself from overspending. Or maybe that she knows people who would constantly beg her for money if she didn't keep up the broke routine.
@@mask938 Obviously autocorrect for sympathy but I do appreciate the imagery of the sad violin starting off solo before a rising crescendo into a full on melancholic orchestral piece.
Exactly these are legitimate reasons people do this...plus OP did state she only says it when the subject of money comes up....not like she's going around just complaining to anyone who will listen.
Besides which OP said it was all invested.....there's a reason you sign a form stating you know about the dangers of investing before you are allowed to put money in (even through an app) so the fact that the wife specifically said, the reason she says that is because of what is actually in the bank account itself, is actually the more prudent way of viewing things. OP, have your wedding in ASL. Your mother clearly doesn’t accept that you’re disabled and wants you to be “cured” from your disability. A disability and culture that you and your fiancé share, that you share with his family, a culture and disability that’s allowed you to make friends and make your own family. Your mother can frankly, cry about it.
Hey remember that story about a cat that kept yowling and scratching at the babies door. Mama got up and realised the cat was freaking out cuz the baby was suffocating. Or the woman who worked at a wolf rescue, and went on maternity leave. When she came back the wolves were pretty much 'we smell pup!! Wheres ur pup?!' and were SUPER gentle with her even though she didn't have the baby with her. My point is, animals understand babies are fragile and need protection. They're not stupid.
"she's never had a cat so she doesn't know how to treat them"
okay? she's never had a kid, so how is she gonna treat her baby???
If she treats a cat like that then i'm scared for the baby.
Right? She's a freaking adult how hard is it to treat an animal? Like jeez that's a horrible excuse.
This was my exact thought when I heard the story, that poor child....
OP should dump the sister-in-law and the fiance. If the FIANCE doesn't care about how their family treats animals in OP's home and doesn't respect OP's family then what's going to happen if they ever have children?? Eeesh...
When your fiance is mad at you for standing up for your pet, it's time to flex your "We're not married, get out" muscles.

Damn straight! That fiancée needs to be gone like yesterday.
That woman and broke stories, just uses “I’m broke” to garner sympathy and attention.
He's sexist. He expects her to do EVERYTHING and when she doesn't even when he told her not to he calls her a asshole

Lol
@@Darkwiccawillow I know, right?!? It's definitely a sympathy ploy.

If she treats a poor cat like that I'm scared of what will happen to her child
Exactly

If the fiance can't see that, throw the whole family out.
I think with the networth story, the wife was maybe trying to gain a social status of "broke and humble" and that's why she kept repeating that line. She's straight up lying to their mutual friends for sympathy points.
Yeah, even if she wasn't pretending to be poor the fact that she's straight lying to their friends/family makes her a huge asshole
@@bridi0821 she's not sharing though she's lying and manipulating the conversation lmao
@@bridi0821 OP's mentality comes from cultural stereotypes. On top of that the wife isn't sharing anything, she's lying through her teeth
The deaf bride is gonna wind up cutting her hearing family off and it’s gonna be all her ableist mother’s fault
EDIT: I could understand pregnant sister avoiding the cat due to risk of toxoplasmosis etc but what she did is inexcusable
Toxoplasmosis would only be a risk if the pregnant sister was scooping the litter box, which she obviously wasn't, so it wasn't a risk.
Maybe if it cries she'll spray the infant down with water!
deaf bride story is fake
Who else found rslash's channel and never stopped watching?
Edit:Thx for all the likes!
Even scrolled through till last 2 years it’s just so addicting
I have and don't plan to stop.
All if not most of us here man.
Im here
Me
if billy "can stay with a friend", why cant her sister stay with a friend?.....
I cant imagine my parents treating me the way the op in the first story was treated because of my disability.
@@vloggerbonakid6178 Yeah, it's her life. Fair enough I suppose.
HOW DARE YOU BE EARLY,as compensation for making my day better you MUST REUPLOAD THIS VIDEO AT YOUR USUAL UPLOAD TIME.
Lol I was glad he did because I usually can’t watch the whole video bc i have to go to the bus stop at 8:10🥲
Anyone that causes harm to a pet is an IMMEDIATELY kicked out, there are no excuses.
Also that "pregnant women" thing is only an issue if they #1 Handle cat feces #2 Indoor/Outdoor cats, because the cat has to GET the infection to transmit it.
Sil: it's bad for the baby
Op: ok, so get the baby away
Sil: ...
"Signing impaired" is amazing. OP you rock! And I'm so glad you were able to embrace your Deafness.
@@markjohnson7887 do they actually work? It seems like a too-good-to-be-true type of thing....
@@angryaliens2 they actually work , but not 100% . Severe allergy very often , never get cured .
@@Some_guy_passing_by so he'll still be allergic just not so badly?
if my fiancee's sister threw my cat out and my fiancee didn't stop her, i think what i would do is change all the locks while they're out, and just leave a sign on the door with "it's over, don't come back, keep the stupid ring". someone who's mean to my animals does not deserve a proper goodbye.
Yes, but OP could actually hear fine.. So where is her oppression exactly?
@@markjohnson7887 Uh, her parents forced the cochlear implants on her and refused to let her learn sign language and refused to learn it themselves for her. Cochlear implants aren't always some magical fix to hearing problems. OP said they were horrible to have on and the sound quality was awful. It's clear her parents were trying to force her to be "normal" when she's not. Yes, she was oppressed- by her parents.
@@rebekahsegun8319 She was a baby when she got them. LOL Go watch a video on how HAPPY babies are when they get them. They are a good thing.
@@markjohnson7887 I never said they aren't a good thing. But they're not for everyone either and clearly OP is one of those people.

I thought the wife who was lying about "being broke" was trying to make sure her friends never asked to borrow money.
Same. Especially since OP stated it was around her family and friends......she may know their tendencies to ask for handouts.
That story about the person who’s younger sister takes out all their issues on them hit WAY too close to home for me. 😅
The sister in law, if she done that to me cat then her feet wouldn't have touched the ground. I wouldn't have asked her to leave, I would have thrown her out physically. How dare she.
“Don’t f*ck with my pet” - John Wick
The latter two things she could’ve told her husband about. I think she just likes the sympathy that come with the “I’m broke” stories.
@@Darkwiccawillow You get a whole symphony if you tell people that you’re broke?
Ooooooh, an hour early upload? Just what I needed to start my day.
The fact that this woman tried hiding their wealth for no reason is pretty stupid. He’s not gloating about it at all.
Or the gorilla who took care of the little boy who fell into the enclosure until the rescuers could get to him
