I don’t honestly agree that the first dying light gets easier when guns are introduced. Guns sucked not because they reduce tension but because they are awkward to use and have poor feedback. The games systems were not built around shooting guns and it shows but they have some missions versus humans that force you to use them, it is not optional because you’ll get shredded if you don’t. The game gets easier as you play more because you get better skills. Instant break always from zombie grapples and things like that. Maybe I'm drawing a blank, but has any game yet managed to actually make multiple player choices actually well? I mean one of the larger AAA games... It's so often advertised as a big part in the promotional material and then we always seem to end up with something that doesn't actually carry on much true change and some changes only revolve around few key moments. It'd be refreshing if for once a game managed to actually make choices that feel like they truely matter from beginning to end. Though I guess it's just too much to plan and make, where a game could branch multiple times into different full-rest-of-the-game paths that'd feel unique. Still... I do wish someone'd really go for it. If anyone has recommendations, I'm open to em :)
Of course. People are just always looking for that acclaim and innovation. The first game was a lot of fun but kind of unfairly bashed because of the story and other reasons, but the actual gameplay was really solid.

Well considering the engine they’re using for this game, I don’t blame them for how intensive it really is. Also Returnal is 1080p as well and that’s a PS5 exclusive. People were same to deal with that, why wouldn’t they with this?
@CodeBreaker Lmao it doesn’t matter if it’s cleaner cause the game looks like Pokémon Arceus in the first place, that’s not really the W that you think it is. You could’ve said Witcher 3 and I might’ve agreed. Anyway, two very different games and one is clearly trying harder than the other.
The quality of the story Is not surprising. It really sucks that the stuff with Avellone had to go the way it did, maybe we would've gotten a better product.
They supported the original Dying Light with new content and updates for longer than anyone ever imagined and they'll likely do the same with DL2. So s lot of the more glaring issues will probably get fixed, although not much can be done about fixing the story without revamping things with story DLC updates.
All this narrative criticisms is really infuriating especially after knowing that they fired Chris avellone over some dumbass false accusations on Twitter, if he was involved he would have ultimately turned the story into something special, but they pretty much shot themselves in the foot with that decision.

Even easy allies is getting sick of the same crap. If Easy Allies gives a game a bad review it means it's more of the same. Overhyped mess of a game with the same checklist of things to do go from point a to point b rinse and repeat and once you are overpowered the game is a cake walk. Fun for a couple hours but falls apart and lacks any depth or direction other than that.
these games are being pandered to the lowest common denominator. For us people who actually know what good is, and are creative it sucks. Most of you are losers. you probably think i'm the bigot too when you say stupid crap like that. dur.
Probably doesn't need to be said but ill say it anyway. The only opinion that matters is your own, there are plenty of high score reviews for this game and I'm sure they played differently as well. Form your own opinion, knowing the devs it'll be supported for years and fixed.
Saying fixes and support are coming is all well and good but that doesn't really give much reason to buy the game now. Even as a fan of Dying Light 1 looking at a lot of the response to the game it looks far better to wait and get the game at a reduced price when it's fixed and has more content than buying for full price at launch.
It's just a shame that the standards are so low for AAA games that we expect them to be in a poor state at launch and wait for the "roadmap" of not just content but basic patches for stability. More big budget games feel like early access beta builds that take a year to feel complete.
I have played it now with my cousin since launch at least 15 hours at this point. Its very buggy but incredibly addicting, almost everything has been improved on except some texture issues and the bugs I mentioned. I highly recommend getting the game if you have someone to play with, the pros far outweigh the cons here and the cons will no doubt be ironed out over the next few months if I had to guess given their track record. Regardless of that opinion, the game is very fun and there's tons to do.
The writing and voice acting is incredibly mediocre - worse than the first game so far. The game really should have been marketed towards those who think gameplay is the only selling factor in games for them. But I've already played the first game twice... This is more of the same in a setting that isn't as creepy as Harran, if at all.

If anyone has recommendations, I'm open to em :)
i mean the choices do matter i compared my run to my friends completely different chars and whatnot
Fallout New Vegas did it in 2010.
I'll wait for a deep sale.
Really enjoying it so far
For anyone on the fence, the game is amazing
This is my personal opinion as well.
Its so good. Every negative I've heard is baffling me after I put 20 hours In. I feel bad for the people skipping this gem, because of the reviews
No it isn’t
@@Ma1q444 oh! Such an insightful comment. "It ISN'T" everyone! Well. Guess I'll just blindly follow :)
Great co-op game, played a bunch last night.
@@liandria Well said. People are always excitable around release day. When the dust settles, opinions change drastically.
Weapon Durability. My number one bugbear in a game.
So then the real question is - does this game SWIM.
another fair review from easy allies. 7.0 is not a bad score like people seem. its still something i would play.
Of course. People are just always looking for that acclaim and innovation. The first game was a lot of fun but kind of unfairly bashed because of the story and other reasons, but the actual gameplay was really solid.
IGN also gave it a 7 which surprised me . They also said not recommended due to amount of day one bugs.
@@DEVILTAZ35 they can be fixed over time.. unless it's a cyberpunk situation where it's basically fucked with bugs on arrival.
So, Skyrim with zombies?
I know that they are different reviewers but by the numbers AC Valhalla gets an 8,5 while this, which actually has real ambition gets a 7.🤷♂
Dying Light is basically a Ubisoft game
@@stefanhatcher6486 If thats the case show me the microtransaction bs please :) And also show me the horrible Levelgrind to progress. Thats what is Ubisoft now. If u are talking old Ubisoft I wouldnt mind it at all. But we are talking about todays Ubisoft, and this game is Nothing like that.
@@lowerclassbrats77 lol. i just checked Ben even gave Cyberpunk a slightly higher rating then this. And that was a broken mess!
AC is definitely better than this trash. Deal with it.
@@kolz4ever1980 You haven't even played the game dude. Does your dad work for Ubisoft? Why are getting so defensive?
The music in the game is great
I want it but I don’t it’s really frustrating. I enjoyed 1 but it’s going to be the same other then a new map.
Reviews for this game are all over the place. I still can't believe the resolution on PS5 and Series X is 1080p when playing the 60 fps mode.
Is it really? Glad I waited for reviews on this one. Heard it’s very buggy on console
Well considering the engine they’re using for this game, I don’t blame them for how intensive it really is.
Also Returnal is 1080p as well and that’s a PS5 exclusive. People were same to deal with that, why wouldn’t they with this?
@CodeBreaker
Peace Walker on the fucking PSP looks better than Pokémon Arceus let’s not kid ourselves here.
Day one patch coming tomorrow
@CodeBreaker
Lmao it doesn’t matter if it’s cleaner cause the game looks like Pokémon Arceus in the first place, that’s not really the W that you think it is.
Yup, I hate Twitter. Of course someone with rainbow colored hair makes accusations against somebody. It’s really sad the game could’ve been so much better than it is now.
Despite all the bugs... I’m gonna pick it up day 1
I am playing it on PS5 and have 0 bugs, they are lying to you
@@doomslayer9513 be honest, you like it tho? Is it as good as the first?
@@doomslayer9513 I wouldn't say they're lying since bugs are not 100% certain to happen and thus someone could play through a game with 0 bugs and another person with 100s of bugs. Don't get me wrong though man I'm hyped as hell to play it
They are dropping day one patch that fixes 1000 bug they were working hard to fix
Thanks for honest review! I buy the first dying light didn't really enjoy too much while it was fun I just couldn't get into it. I'm sure my feelings will apply to this one aswell. Ill wait for elden ring :)
Yeah I played the first Dying Light and got to the second map with the rooftops before burning out. Too many repetitive side quests and boring storylines. The gameplay was fun at first but even that grew stale. I'm waiting for Elden Ring and Horizon.
The game is certainly ambitious. I think it would of had a better story if it was longer. If we had more time to spend with characters and had the plot beats more time to build then moments may have had more impact.
Idk man… the characters suck. Idk if I want more of that.
The 1st one did not get a good review and we saw what happened
Yikes..... Maybe gonna pick this up on a sale.. if there is nothing else to play
Everybody saying same thing, fun, but horrible story
Which basically describes the first game lol. All you have to know is that you’re in a zombie city and have to get out.
@@ComicsLamar Exactly! I'll pick this game up in a year or two with all the DLC for $20. The first game was fun to play. The story was dumb, but I didn't go into it expecting Shakespeare.

1) STAMINA SYSTEM for movement
2) TIMER for GAMEPLAY.

It's Shame To Hear That the Choices And the Narrative Aren't At All What They Were Cracked Up To Be But I Absolutely Enjoyed the Original So I'll Definitely Get Around To This One When An Edition With All the DLC On Disc Launches
Hard living up to dying light 1. But i'll wait for some patches until i buy it.
They got a day one patch fixing 1000 bugs they found and were working hard on
@@kjevans09 Oh, well atleast they dont just leave it as it is
I had hopes for the narrative after the first reveal with avellone, too bad it didnt deliver in the end
Yea having Aveline attached made me hope that this would have a narrative on the level of Obsidian games. Unfortunately it's clear that many things changed over the years.
@@mikesaporito1373 he was fired over Twitter allegations and his work pretty much got scrapped which really explains why the story is widely criticized.
@@نونيم-ي4ح baseless allegations btw which is pretty fucking criminal
@@purvdragon-sensei No baseless allegations whatsoever, they were based on facts. And Avellone was never brought in to write the story, only some quests. So no, the story was going to be bad regardless.

7 isn't a bad score though.
@@El_Wanderer91 7 its what most AAA games get these days.
Yeah this new direction they've chosen isn't for me....
Another game who's marketing dept took the lions share.
Spot on review! Its a fun game but the narrative is a mess and NPCs are boring as shit with some side quests feeling like a chore! Other than that it has all the OG Dying Light elements which are really fun
strange you didnt have many negatives but still gave it a 7 seemed like it would be at least an 8 or 9 based on the review
wait... if ben is reviewing this, who is reviewing pokemon?
He's doing both. Ben is a machine with reviews
Ben Moore Best in the Biz
Just got it for 30% off already but yeah i'll wait until they bug fix it to play it i think too lol. That is one good thing about average reviews as in OZ it drives the game price down from day one quite often lol . It is already $49 US equivalent here in an actual retail store. i picked up the original for less than $20 with the DLC in a sale.
Lol what? How?
no guns and weapons can't be repaired. Ok no thanks.

Game looks at least 5 years outdated
With Horizon 2 and Elden Ring dropping, this just doesn't find space.
I'm in the same boat. Looking to pick up Horizon, Elden Ring and KOF XV. Trying to decide whether or not this game is worth picking up with all those other games coming soon.....
This looks better than Elden Ring LMAO, that game looks so green like I am starring at vomit 🤮
The combat of Elden Ring is absolute garbage! Roll roll attack, roll roll attack over and over and over, trashy overhyped game 🤣

@@doomslayer9513 10 out of 10 from IGN lol.
So what i get from this review is, Dying Light 2 is an inferior Zelda bow
Even easy allies is getting sick of the same crap. If Easy Allies gives a game a bad review it means it's more of the same. Overhyped mess of a game with the same checklist of things to do go from point a to point b rinse and repeat and once you are overpowered the game is a cake walk. Fun for a couple hours but falls apart and lacks any depth or direction other than that.
7 is not a bad review.
wait 7 is a bad score? I thought 7 was at least good.
these games are being pandered to the lowest common denominator. For us people who actually know what good is, and are creative it sucks. Most of you are losers. you probably think i'm the bigot too when you say stupid crap like that. dur.
7 isn't a bad score. It just means fans of the genre will like it while it may not appeal to a broader audience.
DL2 is the 1st game I would rather the company copy and paste the 1st one and just throw me in a new city
"This game has this score, why this game has lower score than this"
Why are you care so much about score? Are you one of the devs?
Stay in school kiddo
@@dr.loomis4221 Are you married?
The villian in dying light 1 is comically terrible so I think that I can tough through a mediocre story lol.
The writing and voice acting is incredibly mediocre - worse than the first game so far. The game really should have been marketed towards those who think gameplay is the only selling factor in games for them. But I've already played the first game twice... This is more of the same in a setting that isn't as creepy as Harran, if at all.
Are y'all just not gonna review pokemon orrrrrr
Pokémon I got it it was boring n the world felt so empty

Dying light 1 hardly have range weapons until years later also the ones that exist don't have " easily accessible ammo lol, also dying light 2 stamina, stamina, stamina, broken weapons on the player but enemies weapon last forever !! Also they downgrade the fun grappling hook to nothing
There were plenty of ranged weapons. Bow, hand guns, shotguns, assault rifles. And as to ammo I literally spent the entire later part of the game with an assault rifle that I always had more ammo for than I ever needed.
