I like how both aren’t elder dragons since people would usually come to the conclusion that their elder dragons since their so big but knowing these are flying wyverns are terrifying
@@gitgud9704i they’re just as strong if not stronger than most elder dragons regardless of whether or not they’re classified as elder dragons. Not like they’re lesser simply because they’re not classified as elder dragons.

Wow those P3rd Arena's... i also wasn't aware of how beautiful they are! I always enjoyed the atmossphere of the polar field fight in 4U, especially with that cutscene and all but the night time fight? Fits with Ukanlos' theme of "gracefully terrifying" as i'd describe him. Thanks for the video Edit: oh and also, i was surprised how much they've changed over time! It's probably because i fought them in 4th gen the most that i didnt realise it. Cool
When they eventually come back, I'd like to see them double down on terrain manipulation for their fights. The design of them really gives the sense that they shape and expand the environment to their liking, which would explain why we have to fight them and how they earned the moniker as 'Gods'.
Love these two guys! They have awesome designs, music, and gear. Though I’ll be honest I was never a HUGE fan of Akantor’s fight, mainly because of his astronomically (but understandably) massive charge hitboxes (and putting him in Ingle Isle was a mistake if you ask me, but that map is its own can of worms) but Ukanlos is an absolute blast to fight. They’re both definitely at the top of the “Needs to be in Wilds” list, and if they do come back give them their P3rd map iterations back too. The aurora in Polar Field was so mesmerising and is sorely missed, and I never want to see Ingle Isle again. Raging Brachy escaped it, so can you Akantor!
Akantor was the biggest wall to me in Gu and probatly in the entire series his defense down was so brutal but i do really like him mainly because of his design and his fight
a few corrections: in G rank of 4U Akantor can also triple charge like Tigrex. Also blocking a bite attack still cuases defense down. Ukanlos in 4U can dig twice in a row when his HP goes below a certain point making the attack harder to avoid as each evade takes a lot of stamina. A quick note is that Akantor weapons have insane affinity too so if you bring mind's eye and a weapon like charge blade that relies on raw you can seriously hurt monsters.
I love the way Ukanlos looks. There are so many older monsters that I want to see come back to newer games so I can fight them and Ukanlos is pretty high on my want list.
Akantor was my first wall in 4 ultimate that made me realise i needed to focus on skills and learning movesets to get better and although ukanlos is a cool fight akantor will always be my favorite over ukanlos due to memories it gave me of beating it after 15 trys.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if these two ever encountered each other it would be the biggest turf war ever I really hope they return to the main game someday.
I would've loved to have seen these two come back in World's style where they reworked a lot of the older monsters. Here's hoping for a return in Wilds, perhaps as an event or post-game addition.

The Penguin and Ostrich of Monster Hunter. Akantor is just a colossal Tigrex, and I love that. I wish Ukanlos had a fast small counterpart. It does share some Moves whit Narga, and maybe Barioth I think, but most of its Moveset doesnt look like anything I know from other Monsters. There are some aspects relevant for Ukanlos Weapons. Like Akantor, it has colossal Raw. But it has also low Ice, its Sharpness caps at White, and it has very little white to work whit, and its Affinity is negative, and the negative Vallue is very high. Also I belife Akantor has actually quiet great Affinity, maybe?
When the developer of Wilds said elder dragons wont be the main focus on the game first thing came to my mind are these two i wish we see them in wilds
I personally think they should be reclassified as Fanged Wyverns at least of the Zinogre and Magnamalo group. They have the larger or taller shoulder muscles not found in pseudo wyverns, have their chest further up from the ground and have a more erect posture to their forelegs then pseudo wyverns. Their wing fingers have either reduced into small blade like growths or vanished. All of these traits are features of the Zinogre and Magnamalo group of Fanged Wyverns.
They already have a placement on the ecological evolution tree. I doubt they'd be reclassified for that reason alone, since IIRC they connect back to Tigrex, unlike Remobra (which AFAIK are the only monsters to ever receive a true re-classification between generations) which are on their own little branch.
@@randomnpc445 While I agree with you that this is unlikely, there definitely is a part of the Monster Hunter community that likes taxonomic reclassification that would appreciate this. The amount of people that want pseudo wyvern and raptorial wyvern to be their own groups is a good example of this. Akanator and Ukanlos were also introduced before the fanged wyvern group was introduced, so it is at least possible. While I personally think that World actually did spec evo relatively poorly, mainly having weird morphology, it did bring even more of the spec evo crowd into the Monster Hunter community. Akantor is harder than Ukanlos imo. Akantor's arena is more hazardous and while both monsters hit incredibly hard, Akantor can inflict double defense down which is worse than regular defense down. As if Akantor didn't hit hard enough already, he can hit you even harder with your defense halved, so do yourself and your team a favor and bring adamant seeds. Also, if Akantor pins you and you don't have dung bombs, it's curtains for you. Akantor's pin attack not only hits really hard and inflicts double defense down, it's also the hardest pin to escape in the game and as seen in the video it has a finisher where he hits you with his beam which is his strongest attack. Speaking of which, his beam is a team wiper because unlike Ukanlos, Akantor can sweep the whole arena with it from the other side of the map. The most crucial advice I can give when fighting Akantor is that whenever Akantor burrows underground, ALWAYS assume he's headed toward the other side of the map. When you see Akantor burrowing, you need to stop what you're doing and beeline it to the other side of the map asap, trust me, you need the head start, bring dash juice if you think that'll help because you got a lot of distance to close. If you're not next to Akantor when he emerges from the ground, he will fire his sweeping beam and it's not easy to dodge and unless your armor has a lot of dragon resistance you will not survive the hit and this is the most common way squads fail Akantor's quest. And for the love of god, don't block his beam. You need guard up to block it and even if you have it, you take so much chip damage from blocking it, even with guard +2 it's almost the same as letting the beam hit you except your stamina is also gone by blocking it
I literally spent a few days farming Akantor in G Rank because I needed his HC 1% carves to upgrade his Longsword in Frontier. I really like Ukanlos because his design makes sense for his ecology, he feels like a feasible creature. His fight (in 4th Gen at least) is challenging but fun and it’s so satisfying to break his chin. Akantor is one of least favorite designs in the series. It’s a spiky mess and looks like a Zelda monster, not a sensical animal. I enjoyed its fight less too, but the big issue is the design.
Both are pretty awful fights with annoying gimicks and limited moveset while being obnoxiously tanky. Both love to waste as much time as possible by either moving to the other end of the map/charging in Akantors case or just spamming that dig attack in Ukanlos’ case.

They same, same. But different. 😂
These two being flying wyverns has the same logic as Dodrio (for one example) being a flying type. There is a reason, it's just not valid.
I hoped capcom put them into wilds but noooooo...
Hey Wilds isn't out yet!
@@HeavyWings but the top 20 votes are out and no akantor was among them
@@gamingispleasure8436 they put Jyuratodus in Rise specifically because he was unpopular. Trust me it won't have that much of an impact.
forshawdoing....
Both are pretty awful fights with annoying gimicks and limited moveset while being obnoxiously tanky. Both love to waste as much time as possible by either moving to the other end of the map/charging in Akantors case or just spamming that dig attack in Ukanlos’ case.
I disagree that they're awful but I do agree there's a bit too much time wasting. Bigger moveset variety would fix that.
Ukanlos is cooler 😂😂😂
still glad i never bought rise
Little error. Tigrex can fly as seen in MH Freedom and Freedom Unite.
