- In this video we are covering everything you need to know, and more, before visiting Mt. Rushmore National Monument.
Visiting Mt Rushmore is a travel experience everyone coming to North America wants to have!
Where is Mt. Rushmore located?
My Rushmore is located in South Dakota in the Black Hills. This was a sacred area for the Native Americans before the land was taken by the United States of America government.
How much does it cost to visit Mt Rushmore?
There is no entry fee but there is a $10 parking fee.
How long does it take to visit Mt. Rushmore?
To walk the trail and get your pictures you will need about two hours. If you're staying for the evening lighting you'll need about 4 and you'll want to arrive later in the evening before sunset.
What's inside the Mt. Rushmore Monument?
The recesses inside this hall would house bronze and glass cabinets containing important historical documents, such as the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Also included in the hall would be busts of famous Americans and a list of U.S. contributions to the world in science, industry and the arts.
Is there a lot of walking to see Mt. Rushmore?
There's a bit of a long walk in due to how large the parking structure is. There are handicap accessible ramps.
Do I need a reservation to visit Mt. Rushmore National Monument?
No.
Can you go behind the faces of Mt Rushmore National Monument?
No this is closed to the public.
Are pets allowed at Mt. Rushmore?
No, service animals are allowed but pets will not be able to come. You will want to make plans to leave them somewhere else.

lol I played one of the weirdest shows of my life at some christian camp out here.
:D lots of side streets and nooks and crannies to hide stuff out here! Wouldn't surprise us one bit! Beautiful part of the country though, not quite anything else like it! We're going back to the Black Hills and Badlands for sure!
