My God the Z9 was already a beast but now it’s a monster. This is about to get real. Upping the EVF refresh rate! I do remember you (Chris) bashing the 60 fps EVF refresh rate at launch. I guess we owe ya one.
What's next? After beast and now monster, 3.0 must make it an Eldrich horror then! What would it include? BRAW? Resizable and movable waveforms? LUT preview / sideload?
Nikon really did good here and I hope they continue doing so. Competition is good for everyone!

I'm pretty sure Z9 just became the flat out best camera in existance. Some other cameras like A1 might have slightly better frame rate etc, but Z9 just takes all possible strengths and combines into one package.
I'm a Sony shooter, but I love when manufactors are thinking out of the box. Fantastic job Nikon. So good for all of the industry. Canon and Sony has to step up their game.

Nikon have been amazing with updates, I didn't expect my Z6 to have another AF update late last year. I can't wait to see how much of this tech makes into Nikon's upcoming products.
now the Z6ii and 7ii also have AF updates.... I don't think we'll see a faster and better tracking AF, but rather one that no longer focuses on the background... we'll see time will tell. With a dual processor one would expect a bit more from the Z6ii and Z7ii though...

The 60hz refresh rate was probably the most criticized feature of the Z9 when it was launched, along with the 30fps in Jpeg. Now one of them is solved completely for free for those who already own a Z9, well done Nikon

Wow first time in history a firmware update that didn’t need to make the autofocus better.
**chuckle** It didn't need to, but: "The Fast AF-ON function allows a user to assign different AF speeds to separate controls. From a slow rack focus to a fast transition, two speeds are now assignable on customizable buttons to improve video shooting efficiency." & "AF stability, tracking performance, and subject detection in low-light situations have been enhanced."

Is it unreasonable to expect Nikon to have the best video-capable mirrorless camera? Add to that the more precise focusing of the Z7 II and Z6 II, and Nikon has a chance to reclaim some of the respect it has lost in recent years, especially among younger buyers.

I may be one of the few but I'm glad they're trying to give some features to astro photographers. even if it's only screen dimming.
Also the starlight mode. Apparently its pretty incredible for auto focussing in low light, including distant stars

Any chance you could provide a bit more detail regarding the Data Rate for N-RAW video?
Specifically am looking to find out what the Data Rate is for N-RAW at 8.3K at 60fps in both the Normal and High quality settings. Any chance you guys could post a couple sample files via Google Drive or Dropbox for prospective buyers to download and test out in our post workflows?
For Jordan: A question for a future video, is it possible with focus point assignment to FN buttons to essentially set focusing marks like a focus puller would (but autofocus)? Could be especially interesting with the external grip!
Essentially: start rolling camera a the first mark, press FN1 and either af-on or use af-f, let it hit, then press FN 2 for another mark and engage af again.
How many takes did this require to have Jordan keep delivering his lines in this total deadpan mode?

Does the photographer now have the option to change the color of the Single AF Point to one of the Peak Focusing colors? Months ago, I requested this change be made in firmware.
I have a handicap called Daltonism. Worldwide, there are 300,000 of us with this handicap. I cannot differentiate the current pastel color of the square from most backgrounds. This means that until that option is offered in firmware, I cannot see the box I need to see, in order to focus

You missed a mention worthy video feature & that is extended slow video shutter speeds which can even be enabled or disabled in menu (for avoiding accidentally going below frame rate) as per personal use cases.
how much is the firmware 1.4 for the Z6ii/ Z7ii?? have those 2 camera's..i know the Z9 is stellar but for us stuck in the Z6ii/7ii hope we have some good news..
