He's my first and currently only Mafex figure and WOW, I see why people love these so much! He's so cool and so well done, absolutely love this figure, I have him in a good pose right now, but I'm dying to mess with him more and more. He'd be a pocket figure if he wasn't so expensive, can't risk taking him into the outside world and getting scuffed or broken!
I have this figure and I also Love it. I can't wait for mafex to complete the return of Superman series. Mafex are expensive, but worth the money in my Opinion. Great review👍.
@@theotherguy21 some of them do some don’t. I don’t like the portraits mezco does but like the clothes. They also way overcharge for figures that don’t really come with a whole lot. The animated Batman came out and it’s pretty expensive for some different heads and grappling hooks. But then you get like the new Superman coming out. It’s quite expensive too but you get a ton of stuff with him including accessories that haven’t really been out ever for a figure like him. Super hit and miss company. I also buy from bigbadtoystore all the time and mezcos figures pretty much never release when they say they are supposed too. Kinda a smaller thing to some people but that irritates me quite a bit as almost anything they release takes forever to actually do so. I pre ordered things like over a year ago that I’ve canceled cause they simply won’t release when they say.. it’s honestly why I don’t get or pre order hot toys the waiting is insane.

I think a shouting head sculpt would have gone sooo crazy, like how steels got. Regardless this is one of mafex’s finest and that’s saying something considering there track record with comic figs.
Just picked this up on sale and it does indeed rock but I'm still liking that Essentials for height and presence. Would be nice to see Todd's Cyborg Superman or a reissue of DCE since he owns DC Direct now.
Excellent review Dave the comparisons were terrific wasn't a fan of the taste test though that can't be good for you it's plastic not food weird that it tasted like cherry flavor though definitely looking forward to the next review great job James
So this is my first premium figure and I gotta say when I first opened it I felt like the head was too small and immediately freaked out cause I thought it was fake, until I opened it and Wow just wow, its gonna be hard going back to retail figs after this
I like mafex and mezco because they got some awesome accessories and different and hands I am getting the McFarland Superboy the only thing I don't like about McFarland he does the vinyl capes
The main difference from source material to figure is that in the comics, I believe the rounded indented portions on the upper left cyborg leg and upper right cyborg arm are clear-through empty space, but I understand that they have to fit articulation in there, so I'm more than okay with that not being comic-accurate. One nitpick though is that he really should have a metal plate on his left triceps, that's in the comics, but not on the figure, and its weird that that arm is the only part with no cyborg-bits attached. I've got Steel on pre-order, really hoping they'll also make with Superboy and Eradicator too. Also wouldn't say no to just an ordinary Return of Superman Supes, like, Hush body in Cyborg Supes colors with mullet heads.
My only knock against this figure is its size/scale. If it were the size of the DC Essentials Cyborg Superman I'd definitely find a way to get it. It's just too small for my liking.
@@spoodurmin9742 Yeah. All the previous caped Mafex figures which never had these ugly things, weren't imbalanced by not incorporating them. They're just there to add a roundness over the shoulders.
@@cookedit Yeah and I quite like it because it’s comic accurate to how Hank’s cape was illustrated, his had a more regal authoritarian look than Clark’s

Mezco is expensive but it's worth the money I got the 1978 Superman action figure cost me $150

I much prefer the DC Direct one. I don't care much about articulation.
