DIY Silicone Brushes for 3D Printers

  • In an earlier video, we replaced the wire brushes on our custom 3D printer with silicone pads to prevent the nozzles from oozing filament when parked. Now, we add back in some custom silicone brush elements to get the best of both options! They are very simple to make yourself as a weekend DIY project.

    The best way i found to do this is to put the molds and silicone in to soapy water and then put silicone into the mold.

      Great tip! I've tried mineral oil and other release agents with mixed results, but a mold that just dissolves away was easier for this case. I'll give your method a try next time I need some molded parts.

      True, but they only take about 10 minutes to print when you need another. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯@@kruger12311
