So much respect for you, Jon. I know it's not easy to repeatedly stand up to bullies and keep it light hearted, yet profound at the same time. It's comforting to know we have your voice in this hostile world.
I met J Stewart in 94 at a restaurant I was working at. Cool as hell! Talked to him for about 5 minutes and then he took my name and put me on the VIP list at the comedy club. He killed it! Funny as hell!
@ He’s amazing at analyzing and pointing out the hypocrisy and lies coming from both sides of politics. And funny enough, most of the hypocrisy and lies come from the right. I agree he’s a nut, he’s a comedian! He’s supposed to be a nut.
I like how the description of the video says that Stewart 'attacked' O'Reilly. Jon Stewart never insulted O'Reilly, never hit him, didn't talk down to him or about his job. How on Earth is any part of this video considered an attack.
@@KurtSlotkowski-hj8jd Read the description of the video(not just the title, as I'm sure you do with all news articles). Anyone think it’s odd how they have altered this video to remove the part where Jon Stewart says “analogous” and it confuses Bill O’Reilly? Jon Stewart is way outside of reality trying to say Commons thought shakur was innocent. Everybody knows that Commons was glorifying the act of killing cops in his lyrics, just read it. Bob dylan's song is very clearly about racial prejudice that led to what he saw as an unfair conviction
Ironically enough, I just watched an interview with Jon Stewart (on Fox News, nonetheless) stating that he is a comedian first, but he also is a source of news for people that want to know the news, with or without all the humor he throws in there. You're right, and I agree with every word you say. Jon Stewart > Bill O'Reilly every day
That's the sad part of this whole thing. Jon Stewart was making very good points, but even if he gave the best argument in the world, O'Reilly still wouldn't change his mind. He didn't care. He just moved on with his day and the next program at Fox was just as guilty of pettifogging as every previous episode. That's what really frustrates me about people like Bill O'Reilly. They'd rather dig a trench and die defending it instead of admitting that they were wrong.
I was curious as to Stewart's claim that Bono should not have been allowed to visit the Bush white house because Bono honored Leonard Peltier in a song. It seemed that Steward had an excellent point, so I did some research. Turns out that Bono visited the White House under Bush in 2002, but the song Vertigo that was inspired by Leonard Peltier was not released until 2004. So, at the time of Bono's visit, he had not written the song. Thus this particular example is mute.
I applaud your courage Mr. O'reilly. In this society it's difficult for a conservative man to oust himself as a homosexual but you had the strength to do just that.
Well Bill, lets hope you learned something from this show, you did no homework on the possible answers you might get anndddd...Jon kicked your butt because of it...tough call Bill...
I agree with Bill O’Reilly here but he is such a bully and in general. Never lets anyone speak and never entertains the idea of there being two sides to an argument.
Yeah but the Bono, Springsteen, and Bob Dylan invitations were different. Bono, Springsteen, and Dylan are white. Common is black. ALSO, the presidents who invited them are white. Obama is black. It always amazed me how popular O’Reilly was, given his well known and obvious shortcomings in intellect. A close friend of mine spent several years working on his channel, and recently told me the entire crew referred to O’Reilly as “the dunce”.
The only thing that was comic about this interview was how well Stuart countered O'Reilly. When he listed some of the most world renown recording artists and put them side by side with Common, O'Reilly was done.
I understand what O'Reilly is saying, I don't agree with it but I respect his opinion. Bill, Common was invited to the White House to celebrate his accomplishments and his gift as a rapper/poet, that in no way correlates that the White House celebrates cop killers or that Common does, I believe Jon is right in that he believes that she is a black woman who got convicted of a crime solely because of her color, and he has the right to think that, does not mean he believes cops should die.
Yet when Fox proudly states O'Reilly is also an entertainer. The bigger issue is that Stewart, despite being a comedian bases his career on the illogical, strange, and down right ignorance of the political world. The fact an "entertainer" can make valid points based on the words of O'Reilly himself does not lower his position.
