I have found that everyone suffers with addiction in different ways, we just suffer from a drug one. I journeyed my detox/ withdrawal off heroin from day 5 all the way to the present. I have journaled many experiences and have shown many of my stories on my channel. During this process I have learned much and continue to learn. I have found that we addicts need new people, places and things for sure!
People Overdosing and dying from addiction is real! I detoxed off heroin and know what its like to be stuck and not be able to stop using drugs. Intervention is sometimes necessary because I know the mind of an addict first hand. The way these drugs feel consumes the addict and they cannot think of stopping and follow through without proper help from others.
Addiction can be overcome. Cocaine, alcohol, benzos, adderal, ecstacy, opioids, heroin, steroids & mushrooms are just some of the drugs that I have tried. I wasn't addicted to all of those listed but I have experimented with these. The war on drugs is stupid and the stigma on drug addicts needs to change in order to help the drug addiction issues within America.

Bravo on keeping clean even when you are having problems in your life. My sister is clean now for 5 years after being addicted for 15 years. She is so happy and healthy. She now can live her life on her own terms and not chase getting money or dope anymore. She has made her dreams come true and move to the beach and she can fish or go to the beach daily.

Just lost my son Thurs. To this crap! I'm so lost without him!
I lost more childhood friends than I can count on 5 hands, herion laced with fentanyl, car fentanyl to be specific designed for a heavy sedative for elephants. I used to take pain meds but never crossed over to the next stage fortunately, I was traumatized out of that being an option by the grace of God, I am still here! I lost my girlfriend of 3 years, my boy Dan I’ve known since 5 years old, the drugs don’t discriminate they don’t wager only wreak havoc. May your child rest with God until you are reunited with them when you walk through the gates of heaven. Until that day, fight to remain positive and try to keep your heart in one piece .

Had 22 months clean, sat on my 4th step for a lil over a year and it finally happened...on a 4 month run, really struggling to put 4 days in a row together, ill more than I'm well, craziness!!! speaking of "coincidence" i work for solarcity and ive recently have been sick of my opiate habit and have been looking through youtube for recovery stories and YOURS was the first that spoke too me. I would love too talk too you further this is just blowing my mind thankyou for your videos i hope i can some how communicate with you this is giving me so much hope
My dad was a addict and a alcoholic back in the 70s 80s 90s in 1991 he went inside this hotel in our area (very bad area and very bad hotel). He found a loaded syringe inside the closet in the room he was in. He didn’t know what was in it or anything. He shot it into his arm and didn’t feel anything. From that day on he was sober. My dad passed on 9/11/2001 (few hours before the attack). He died of cancer. (Most likely from all the abuse before) But during his 10 years sober he dedicated his life to helping people and became a drug an alcohol counselor, I have been watching your videos and I think it’s amazing how you’re clean now. Keep doing good brotha.

Better late than never I hope - Yours and your Dad's story is fascinating, in terms of your Dad particularly going from such a negative to such a positive. It's sad to read he died of such a disease after so many years of the effects of drug abuse, I wasn't aware that it could trigger cancer, and of course that day will always have significance virtually Worldwide because of the attacks (whoever they really came from) so that must have been one hell day for you, and of course that will always be a special celebration of your father's life.

Yeah I feel this I would scrape bags scrape cards anything I could find I didn’t leave bed for 4 days my Dog and dad thought I was dying I screamed for 3 days all day and night
I'm just glad you didn't get seriously ill from that last "shot". I've had endocarditis twice and it was not cool. Now I have atrial fibrillation.

I have done the whole old needle shit too thinking that I would of gotten at least SOMETHING out of it but NEVER DID and I am very beyond lucky for never catching hep c bc I booted up with my brothers rig ONCE bc I was so desperate and didn’t want to wait until I got to a pharmacy to buy new ones. The day he checked into the methadone clinic that I begged him to do along with me, they did the whole blood work ordeal and come to find out, he had HEP C caused from his ONLY tattoo that he had gotten and I was beyond lucky enough to never have caught that shit!

One of my last times using... I had tried to kick before I went to rehab, and got so bad and DESPERATE, that I went through the trash can, picking off the dried up snot/ boogers off tissues (which had pieces of oxy in it). And chopped up this pile of snot/ pill residue to snort in order to feel better. It actually DID work slightly. Thank god I’m now Almost 2.5 years clean and sober. These stories always bring me back. Cold and shivering then hot and sweaty, get in the bath and then all the sudden I can’t breathe in there it’s so hot. Rolling in bed so much that I get rug burn on my arms. The no sleep is the worst. You are amazing for this!!! God bless 💖

Has anyone ever gotten diploplia from detox I’m on day 10 and the last 3 days all I see is double vision and can’t focus on one item unless one is is covered has this happend to anyone else I’m freaking out. The dr said my eyes are pulling in from quitting and they should go back to normal eventually but doesn’t know when someone help please

your awesome man thanks. I'm going through some shit myself but I feel like a pusssy compared to what you over came. I was prescribed oxys for 8 years along with roxys a very high dose. now my dr put me on suboxone for a month. I'm due to jump off this in a day or 2 but I'm afraid of withdrawal. I've only been on a low dose for a month but I have seen a lot of horror stories with subxne.

hey derek i just wanted to say that your video is inspirational for me and it gives me hope that ill be able to beat this addiction. im currently on day 5 cold turkey with no med assistance of any sort and it is gettin a lot better. The only thing that im struggling with is the insomnia which is the reason why i would always end up using everytime. im just wondering when ill be able to sleep if i get sleep i know i will never use again.

Iv been on heroin 3 years and on methadone 2 years. I was on 100 ml 6 months ago. I'm now on 20ml. But I was stuck on 30ml for like 3months. Went from 100ml to 30ml easy. The final drop I'm struggling with. But managed too get too 20ml with great struggle... but I will conquer this addiction like your self if u have..... its the worst drug known too man it's horrible..... every 1 stay clear
Does anyone know if you can still contact Derrick. I'm struggling alone and that's one of the hardest parts for me i have no emotional support an very few of my close friends are still alive. A lot of my friends an family members have passed away. so I have no one to help me detoxing alone off of opioids.
