The entire symphony was written in just four days to accommodate the local count's announcement, upon hearing of the Mozarts' arrival in Linz, of a concert. Absolute genius. Unbelievable masterpiece!
And thus undermined the price of a symphony for decades! Lol! (I don't actually know that! Hope he got premium value!)
2 months ago I 'found' this orchestra...and now I am inspired once again to comment on how HAPPY all the players are...and how good looking and bursting with life and energy...the Conductor is an inspiration...obviously to his orchestra...and absolutely to me❣💯 You are a blessing to us all....thank you and God bless you all...from 🇦🇺🌹🇦🇺🌞➕

Totally agree. No 36 is possibly my favourite (confess I don’t know all Mozart’s symphonies) and this performance is the one I will return to every time from now on.

I saw someone playing with their mobile, and a guy in the front row guzzling from a bottle of beer. Yuk. In London there is a ban on mobiles in the hall, and food and drink are equally banned. There you go - the Brits are good at some things. Fantastic orchestra, fantastic conductor, brilliant performance. Bravo orchestra.
In London there's a ban on mobile phones? really? I went to a concert at the Royal Festival Hall a few months ago, and instead of a printed program, they had a QR code to download the program notes to your digitial device!

Its refreshing to see more of this orchestra recently on TH-cam. I wish this and other orchestras would play symphonies and violin concertos by Mozart's contemporary Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. He is truly a premier composer and largely unknown because of his color. It's way past time to let him in from obscurity.

i believe Mozart composed this in a single week then copied the entire score in a one night carriage trip for every member of the orchestra right before the concert..
